This is true. In WW1 Italy was never on the side of Germany/Austria. Read the lyrics to their anthem and it talks about defeating the Austrian eagle. This is true. In WW1 Italy was never on the side of Germany/Austria. Read the lyrics to their anthem and it talks about defeating the Austrian eagle. It was offered or agreed by Britain that Italy would receive territory for their efforts in WW1 but this offer was betrayed which is partly why Mussolini didnt trust Brits/France etc and sided with Hitler.

The Axis in Africa, I am not sure if it was the Battle of Alamein, but I do know there were two fronts where fighting took place under Himmler. The Axis fought well and sent the Brits packing, but the Brits won after reinforcements were brought in. Himmler reckoned no matter how bravely Italians and Germans fought in that theatre, it was unwinnable.
