  • Ya but why, (handcuff key)???

  • @ScoutsNOA The handcuff key was an inside joke.

  • @GoBackpackingKits Gotcha, good vid man plus great pack, just got a Peak........

  • Nice job. You could shave more weight by swapping out your filter for Aqua Mira. A .6 oz. Buck kinife will save some. If you have rain pants, you can ditch the extra pants. Wear the convertibles for hiking. Zip Loc bags are lighter than stuff sacks.

  • bad ass pack man!!!!

  • So about how much money did all that kit cost you? lol

  • I saved over a lb. of weight by getting rid of most of my stuff sacks. Had to keep a couple, but for the most part, didn't really need 'em.

  • The handcuff key is brilliant.

  • @Panjojo Found that thing in a Virginia shelter along the Appalachian Trail.

  • @Panjojo But why the handcuff key????

  • Hey GREAT video! Fast and to the point. I'm not one bit disappointed that you did *NOT* place everything on a scale and make us watch you weight it out! You have some great gear there. I'm collecting my own gear and watching videos like yours getting ready for my first backpacking trip. It will be a short one to Dinkey Lakes area in the Dinkey Wilderness of the Sierras. Did I miss something... Where's the food!

What brand rain pants are those?

    Thanks

  • @dmacken11 Thanks for the comments. You did not miss the food; it wasn't included with the base weight because food is always variable (number of days, food type, etc.). The rain pants are a cheap pair from Gander Mountain. Not my favorites, but they haven't worn out yet.
