Bottom Line is that Ralph Nader is the man for the job unfortunately he doesnt have the financial backing that the other candidates have. Can NADER do it? Absolutely NO questions asked, by far the best Candidate for the Job! My Vote will be for NADER Nov. 4th and you can bet yer bottom dollar on that! I'm all about the GREEN PARTY!
I love his views ,and his plans, but I'm still not sure. Living in a swing state, it would be horrible to vote for him if he gives votes to the GOP. I wish they could get their message out in an effective way to more people, so that more people would vote for them, and the swing vote wouldn't matter
My job requires me to travel all over the USA full time. During the past 6 months I have talked with the public extensively about Nader. Half of the folks think a vote for Nader hurts the Dems and half of them think it hurts the republicans! Get it ? Stop worrying, and simply vote from your heart and your concience i.e. Vote Nader
If 600 of the 250,000 democrats in Florida that voted for Bush would have voted for Gore, then he would have won. Ralph isn't stealing my vote I don't like McCain or Obama, and he wasn't running I would vote for someone else. Nader '08
Ralph Nader. A real American Hero and those of you who dare speak against this man who has denied himself a personal life in order to fight for thr American's Right to know what corporations are putting in the food, water, sky and medications! He fought for your safety in cars, in the workplace and in your homes. Corporations did not care if you died! Umgrateful! Those of u who turned against this man makes me sick to my stomach.
Nader isn't "stealing" my vote from anyone. If he wasn't running, I would vote for Barr (who would then be considered 'stealing' from McCain.) The concept of "stealing votes" is elementary.

Ralph Nader....What a SAD, PATHETIC man you've become -- a bigot, racist, FAT PIG. You're old news dude, like the rest of the old farts from your era you're the past, you're mind is old, you're ideas are old, your're rhetorics are old, you're OLD period. Crawl back in your hole until you get sick and eventually die and disappear. If attention is what you want old man, I'm giving you mine -- here it is.
I think this video is great and more people need to hear this and others like it. I hope everyone who is for Ralph Nadar and the things he and many others stand for are sharing these emails with everyone on their lists since mass media will not let him talk noone knows he exists.
I'm Ralph Nader's 2004/2008 campaign filmmaker, and my book about my adventures with Ralph, WHAT WAS RALPH NADER THINKING? is available ONLY at TheWomanDirectordotcom. It's available in paperback, limited edition hardback, and audiobook.
This campaign, I am working with our VP candidate, Matt Gonzalez. I'll be uploading more videos of Matt soon - please subscribe to my channel.
This is a really great interview with Nader. You get a international perspective from questions in other parts of the world, and it puts everything together. Americans aren't the only people in the world. We have to think about the problems elsewhere. Most people in the world don't want to kill us. They want better for themselves. Us being involved, supporting dictatorships, and killing them isn't the way for them to succeed.
If Nader wasn't around to question major party politics, the two parties would've failed (or unified) a long time ago. He's done more by campaigning than any of you would like to admit.
If Nader wasn't around to question major party politics, the two parties would've failed (or unified) a long time ago. He's done more by campaigning than any of you would like to admit.
They're mad because he's "stealing Democrat votes" by not winning--which he could if the Dems actually voted their consciences. This is a prime example of the contradictory nature of the Democratic party.
look at the numbers of the 2000 election bush stole through fraud with the help of his brother and other corrupt politicians, nader has pointed out that the democrats were so weak that 250,000 democrats in florida were voting for bush. more democracts than that would have voted for bush in florida and the race would not have even been close without nader pushing gore to address some real issues by being on the ballot.
My understanding of Ralph Nader is that he is currently America's greatest and most present heroe. The stranglehold that corporations have on our government, on our democracy is profoundly real. VERY, VERY REAL! Ralph Nader has dedicated his entire adult life to breaking that stranglehold through unearthing and encouraging the natural strength and powers within our legal system. Ralph Nader is more of a gift than we realize. OF, BY and FOR the people. IT'S NOT TOO LATE! NADER 08!
Nader does it again! Smart, in tune with reality, lover of humanity. To you Democrats bearing a grudge - why didn't you guys beg this guy to run for you? Is it too late for that? If so then take his ideas and lobby the seellouts that are running now - maybe you'll get somewhere with Obama but Clinton? Very doubtful.
So many communist wanna bes out there trying to control my vote. I'll vote for who I want. If your candidate doesn't impress me, I'm not voting for him/her.
This could very well be the year for a 3rd party candidate. Both parties are split. Think freedom when you want him to stop at your own bequest.
Its strange that people say Nader is bad until they hear him. Any new idea is squashed. Fuck the dems, is they wont represent the people then go third party.
Why does the Democratic Party assume that progressives should vote for them? That fallacy has cost them votes and will do so in the future if they continue to serve "lite" offerings of Republican regimes.
I love that John and Yoko were in that 1972 clip. I miss Lennon and I'd be interested to know what he'd think about what's going on in our country right now.
I think that if John were around, he would want to be safe from terrorism (he lived in NYC) without being scared by the government daily (which is what Bush does). To that end, he would have known there was a difference between Gore and Bush, regardless of who he might have supported in the election. And he would do whatever it takes to make a REAL difference.
This campain will end the same as his last attempts. This will take votes away from Ron Paul supporters who are disilusioned by the Republican Party of late who will back McCain ultimately. This also takes away votes from the Democratic party. Hence, the majority of the country votes conservative for religious reasons. So unless we see a better than 75% poll for Nader, don`t waste your vote.
That's absolutely stupid. Ron Paul and Ralph Nader are nothing alike when it comes to the issues. So, how is voting for Nader taking votes from Ron Paul.
The Democrats have yet to make any attempt to fight the patriot act or stand against corporate crime. And, since taking the house in 06, nothing has been accomplished. So, why would anyone from the Nader camp vote for them if they don't address the issues or manage to get a single thing done? Nader's been getting things done for decades.
razorback86~Nothing accomplished by Democrats??? Are you kidding me?? The Democrat Senate has one (1) single majority vote (51/49) over the Republicans. Republicans since Nov 2006 have stalled, fillibustered, blocked all positive bills from the Democrats. Democrats need a total 60 votes to pass a bill and override Bush's repeated vetos. Elect more Democrats in 2008 to the Senate and you will see good bills passed in Congress.
Sadly, this is the result of Nader's asinine stance that there is no difference between Bush and Gore etc. In short, Nader and the Democrats DO have a lot in common and SHOULD be working together. But unless someone agrees 100% with Nader, he thinks they are the enemy. Let's say he DID get elected. What will he do? Veto every bill for 4 years? He doesnt understand the art of compromise and of evolution of ideas (as opposed to revolultion). I am glad you posted this to show how govt realy works.
Anyone who has had their life saved by seatbelts or product safety or the thousand other improvements by Ralph could consider supporting Ralph Nader. The tax and spend democrats or borrow and war republicans have not addressed corporate costs. Ralph Nader is the new Ben Franklin. Dae
Let me ask you, what is the benefit of giving voters a choice of a candidate that can not be elected? How does that offer citizen's a choice?
The only real effect of him running is as a potential spoiler. In this election, it would clearly help the Republican party. His rhetoric seems very much against what the Republican party stands for and will accomplish. Why help them get elected? Just to make a point?
Well, giving voters a chance to vote for a candidate you consider not viable or a liability is the definition of choice. It is a choice you do not agree with. Dems shouldn't decide for everyone that Hillary is the only option if you do not like Repubs. TRULY independent voters do not want a Dem or a Repub so why would they vote Dem? Funny, I do not support Nader, I actually dislike him. However, I am tired of both parties strangling third parties to maintain their monopoly on politics. Selfish

NADER HAS ZERO CHANCE TO BE ELECTED...SO WHY RUN? He caused Bush to be elected twice...and now he will cause McCain (A BUSH CLONE) to be elected in 2008!!
Think about the kind of country you live in where you'd rather vote the lesser of two evils with corporate interest then vote for truth and vote your conscience.
This was also the problem in 2004. "Anybody but Bush." Is this really democracy? Do you understand that our founding fathers opposed two-party systems? Washington was an Independant. As you could tell lately in this country, the two party system is failing miserably.
mon3818...Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich or Ralph Nader are all extra-ordinary men. Regretfully not one of them stands a chance to be elected. So the choice left is Democrats or Republicans.
Democrats offer Universal Health Care and will side with "We the People." The Republicans have been flooded with scandals and corruption & have always sided with Big Corporations...Big Oils, Big Drugs, Big Finances, Big AgriBusinesses, Big Autos, Big Insurance etc.
mont3818- do you truly understand how evil Bush is? The reason people said "anybody but Bush" at first is because his incompetence and obsession with Iraq led to 911 - the most significant event of the our lifetime. Then, he USED that tragedy to take away our rights and DIVIDE the country by saying that the Dems would be soft on terror. Once Kerry was nominated, I dont recall people saying "anybody but Bush" much, because we knew we had a good candidate.
Not really Zombies. He had the credibility of military service and he was very clear on where he stood in the war on Iraq. He didnt run the best campaign, and he got sleezed by the swiftboat scum.
4our: Your view that Kerry resembles Dracula is useless. You Nader folks still don't get it. What Bush has done to this country may take DECADES to correct. It will not be done overnight and it will NOT be done by Nader. Do you know what 911 was? Do you not understand what Bush did that allowed that tragedy to happen? Do you not understand how significant this event has been in shaping policy for the past 7 years (e.g. Iraq)? The Dems would not have invaded Iraq and would have stopped 911.
LittleRedMenance...People who are likely to vote for Nader are leaning more toward the Liberals side than they are toward the Conservatives side.
In simple english for your full comprehension, instead of voting for a DEMOCRAT their vote would then go for an Independant (Nader).
It is therefore a logical deduction to put forth my comment that a vote for Nader is in-deed a vote for McCain. McCain would be like a Bush's 3rd term in office. Do "We the People" really want that? I THINK NOT.
nw1982 - I wouldnt worry about that. I think that anyone who votes for Nader in 2008 simply would have stayed home if he werent on the ballot. I think people learned from the 2000 election.
This will be my third vote for Nader, and if he doesnt make it on my ballot, theres always the greens. Id vote for the SWP over a democrat. Id vote for a libertarian over a democrat.
overmind25--You want some change? Vote for a Democrat President and elect a Greater Democrat Majority in Congress..then you'll see good bills for the Nation, passed and enacted. Right now with only a single majority vote in the Senate, the Democrat bills get stalled, filibustered and blocked by the Republicans..or vetoed by Busg..and nothing gets done. "We the People" can and will change that in Nov. 2008.
No Dems suck. The items had nothing to do with a slight majority. They had the power to either pass these bills or stop them (impeachment may not have passed but it would have sent a signal). There stances suck.
Clinton/Gore=500,000 children dead in Iraq
Democrat Senate 2003=Iraq War Solution
Democrat House and Senate=Funding for the Iraq War, wire typing, no impeachment
Democrat Pred. nom.=shit health care by insurance subs.
tell me sir? why do the dems have a lower approval rating than bush? Why haven't they even tried to impeach or even to take a stand against the president? Why do they keep funding the war?
The answer to all this is that the dems are dialing for the same bucks and have no spine.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
dumbass1984--I'll let you answer your "own" questions first on the WHYS: ...
(1) LOWER RATINGS?
(2) FUNDING THE WAR?
(3) BUSH IMPEACHMENT?
(4) YOU THINK NADER STANDS A CHANCE OF WINNING THE GENERAL ELECTION?
... then I'll come behind you and will correct you on every points. Let's see if you're smart (I doubt it) or as you indicate yourself, you're simply a dumbass.
First: you never said anything about why they dont have lower ratings, are funding the war and are not trying to appose bush. (putting a question mark behind a name is not an argument winner)
Second: random insults are not argument winners.
Third: All nine third party candidates got more than the difference between gore and bush, ten times as many registered dems voted for bush then Nader, and bush still got less votes. Nader was just a scape goat for the dems. He was easily blamable.
So if you vote for who you support then your throwing you vote away? this is bullshit. And by the way, why does the democratic congress have lower approval rating then bush? the answer is that they are dialing for the same bucks and have no spine. The dems can burn in hell.
When they say spoiler, I believe they are referring to what he will do to the democratic nominee. In other words he will hand the national elections to the republicans.
I wonder who paid him off to run? I wonder if it's a republican or a losing democratic party? ask yourself these questions. I think he's a high paid spoiler.
The two parties have grossly failed the average American killing the economy, exporting jobs, blocking health care, facilitating illegal aliens, etc, etc. Nader will at least put the issues before the public and shed light on the failure of the two parties who have sold out to big corporations.
Granted, Nader is right on the issues, but he's not going to garner the majority of votes out there - we all know this. We do. Couldn't he just settle for a cabinet position? If he f-cks us over again, this election....I don't even want to say... 'cause it's because of him that Bush even had a chance of being installed. Go away, Nader. Stop messing up elections. And you people, stop screwing us all over by voting for Nader. I blame you, him, Republicans, random idiots and other Bush people!
Fact:Ralph Nader accepted campaign contributions from staunch Republicans. The same Republicans who went into Iraq. Good job keeping the Earth Green Ralph. You got what you wanted.
Running for President? What an asshole. I saw the twin towers come down. What has this smooth speaking man who handed the election to George Bush done for the people of Iraq. Nader could run for a senate seat or mayor. He is pompass to think he is making one bit of a difference in this world running for president and helping the Republicans win. G.R.E.E.N party= Guaranteed Republican Election Every November.Nader is a robust asshole and he is putting that money in his pocket. Wake up!
this is new breath of air in da corrupt USA political scene, two political party doesnt work 4 america and da rest of da world and what this man is trying to do is making america little more civilized internally and on in international level. USA has been ill and social burial ground 4 progressive thinking, and da most important entity would be corporations which influece health care, presidential candidates, even art and i believe this man would be da only person who stands 4 average people
You people are fucking idiots. The reason he runs is because he (as well as his supporters) hate democrats AND republicans. Obama won't win, and choosing between Hilary and McCain is equivalent to picking our dictators. And our votes don't matter anyway. Might as well pick from our hearts.
All of you Democrats are so duped by your candidates. They are all rhetoric. They do not promote policies that help the average citizen. They promote policies that hurt the economy and then try to force the rich to subsidize for the now struggling middle class. Republicans are to blame for this too! People, open up your eyes!
Okay, so Republicans are to blame. So it makes sense to help them get elected? That doesn't seem like very clear thinking to me. If you directly help to elect the party that opposes everything that you stand for, doesn't that make your own argument just a bunch of rhetoric? It is wose than rehtoric, actually. It is rhetoric followed by actions that act completely opposed to your rhetoric.
I don't think that Democrats are any better than Republicans. In many ways, maybe even worse. Because they have not been in power its easy to say Repubs are stupid but they are smart. Both parties want me to sacrifice civil liberties for some "greater" good. Democrats want sacrifice of economic civil liberties and certain social ones (like gun ownership). Repubs want sacrifice of mostly social and others (and even economic lately). Both are evil!
You raise an excellent point, you are talking about Democrats vs Republicans here. Nothng about Nader. Why? Because a vote for Nader is a vote for McCain, but it is made by somebody who wants to pretend that they voted when they really just threw their vote away.
Touche, I have strayed. You are assuming that someone who supports Nader prefers a Dem to McCain. Nader and Dems are similar, but Nader fans don't want Obama. According to Nader who cited exit polls, 38% of ppl who voted for him would have voted Kerry, 25% Bush, others would go home. Repubs said the same thing about Ross Perot. Perot got WAY more votes than Nader, 19%. So Perot handed Clinton the presidency. Repubs dont want Perot to run for the partys selfish gain, likewise for Dems about Nader
He keeps mentioning "Voices and Choices" in his video. What is the point of having a choice that is unavailable? You are also arguing two seperate points. One is whether he was a spoiler (using exit polls) and the other is whether spoiler candidates are acceptable as long as they help your party. You can't use the second one to justify the first one. If you want to throw numbers out there, why not take a look at the election results that proved mathematically that he changed the outcome.
Maybe him being a spoiler is irrelevant. Runaway success in Iraq would undoubtedly lead to a McCain victory at this point. Does that mean that a Dem-leaning general should not work towards that goal? Supporting Nader, which has the unintended consequence of helping McCain is not the same as voting McCain.
Yes, I would vote for him, he is a good man, but why vote for somebody who can't realistically win? He's not a polarizing figure like clinton or obama. He's only going to hurt the only opportunity for the US to pull away from the current administration's blunders.
This is a great honest American!! He fights for the American People, not the rich corrupt corporations like the other canidates. We need someone like this as President.
No it would not. Do not vote for the ones chosen to "lead" us. The only real candidates are the ones that are not televised. The ones that care are the ones we need.
We need to vote. there is no such thing as a wasted vote as long as you vote for the person you agree with. You shouldn't be playing a chess game with our election. Though I am not sure it will matter with all of the massive voter fraud that is going on everywhere. They told me locally that I couldn't vote via write-in. They said they didn't have that available. I guess pencils and paper are hard to come by here in Tennessee.
Didn't someone once say that the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result. Well, what a surprise that when you keep putting your faith in one of the two corporatist parties you get what we have today: a failed corporatist state
To thedeuce84: GOOD POINT. I just wonder why candidates like Nader or Paul can't gain more votes? What people especially young ones think and look for? Nader is well known as a good and wise person around the world. But democrats, as you see, say nastiest words about him!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Nader is not offering anything substantial beyond what Obama or Clinton are already offering. A vote for Nader is a vote for the republican party. He is the reason why we had George W. Bush in office for 8 years.
Acting like Nader is a Republican operative is bogus. Both of the two main parties pander to corporations and ignore the citizens. I am not a Nader supporter but stop acting like this man does not have the right to present an HONEST platform. Honesty which you will not see from Democrats or Republicans.
Mess things up? Anyone who can see past Obama's rhetoric can see the status quo will not change if he is elected. The trickle-down economics promoted by EVERYONE in the main parties except maybe Ron Paul will continue under Obama!
I think I might vote for Nader if he runs. Obama is not offering universal health care, nor is he planing to diminish our military budget. he wants to build a powerful army and build our war machine.
NO. RON PAUL is the Republican Party's greatest asset.
Love him or hate him, Ralph Nader is the greatest asset to the Independent party movement in this Country; and to many of us out there who see the 2 big parties as corrupt, corporate contolled, globalist, world policing warmongers who stand in the way of any real change from ever happening.
To quote Nader: The Republicans and Democrats are nothing but a big corrupt 2 headed monster; each 1/2 of an EVIL whole.
I can't help but htink Nader is a pawn of the Democrat party off and on. He has NOTHING that differes from the Democrat platform. How is he revolutionary? Why doesn't he just run as a democrat..
The Blood is on youer hands two. A vote for Nader is a vote for McCain and that is a vote for death in Iraq that is a vote to send innocent people to there death. How can you sleep at night when you see Bush on TV and know that You put him there. I hope you think about every dead solder before getting behind McCain.
That's dumb, the Democrats won't end the war. Undoubtedly some in Congress want to, but not the elites who control the higher Senate and possible White House positions.
highlander, Obama just mouths change. What are his real plans? He says universal healthcare but his plan does not effectively provide it in a feasible manner (i.e., the State must control the distribution of health care not just insure that private companies will be paid what they want for it). He says he was against the war on Iraq from the start - that is true - and makes me mildly happy - but he only wants to redeploy troops to other imperialist missions! That is not change.

Yes, "Librophile"; Nader should have known that the Supreme Court would throw away all those votes. And it's his fault that the the "Democratic" Party has an uncanny knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of landslide victory, and that they're about to do it again. They'll happily co-opt much of the Republican agenda, but ask them about real social, economic and ecological justice, and they'll piss themselves for fear of being called Liberal. But Nader should compliment the King's new clothes.
"toddlerh" Nader knew that he could NOT win the election and become President. His running only stripped the Democrats from votes and got Bush elected instead.
Now how did that help the American people? He didn't. He's about to do the same thing AGAIN in 2008. Nader should curb his SUPER-EGO and give a chance to the Democrats to be elected and bring much needed changes to our messed-up country.
why do americans continue to blame nader for bush beinng in office. why dont you start blaming the ignorance of the americans on choosing the right president. or all those people who chosse not to vote or care
Ridiculous, he lives on about $35K a year and gives his speaking fees to his non-profit orgs. How do your favourite politicians live? Obama bought a multi-million dollar home with the help of Rezko, the Clinton family gets all sorts of corrupt corporate money to live on.
Nader is worth $4 millon. $35k?? Damn. Kinda low balling those figures, dude. He's a millionaire and will add to his millions during this election and no doubt he'll peddle his obsolete books too.
This dude only comes out when the Democrats look like they'll win. He's a republican in drag. Notice how he actually laughed the last time he helped the republicans win?
He didn't. The Democrats did not fight for their own votes. They are losers. Why don't you get it? Plus your assumption that Nader voters have to vote Democratic or Republican is offensive and anti-democratic. It shows how the barriers, psychological, financial, and legal, to third parties makes this country anti-democratic.
Ralph Nader may not be perfect but America has no one who is more brilliant and sincere in his devotion to being part of our collective mission of creating a more perfect union as a Republic for and by the people.

And I would like him to win some day.

look at the numbers of the 2000 election bush stole through fraud with the help of his brother and other corrupt politicians, nader has pointed out that the democrats were so weak that 250,000 democrats in florida were voting for bush. more democracts than that would have voted for bush in florida and the race would not have even been close without nader pushing gore to address some real issues by being on the ballot.

I think that if John were around, he would want to be safe from terrorism (he lived in NYC) without being scared by the government daily (which is what Bush does). This campain will end the same as his last attempts. This will take votes away from Ron Paul supporters who are disilusioned by the Republican Party of late who will back McCain ultimately. This also takes away votes from the Democratic party. Hence, the majority of the country votes conservative for religious reasons. So unless we see a better than 75% poll for Nader, don`t waste your vote.
oldphoque 3 years ago
That's absolutely stupid. Ron Paul and Ralph Nader are nothing alike when it comes to the issues. So, how is voting for Nader taking votes from Ron Paul.
The Democrats have yet to make any attempt to fight the patriot act or stand against corporate crime. And, since taking the house in 06, nothing has been accomplished. So, why would anyone from the Nader camp vote for them if they don't address the issues or manage to get a single thing done? Nader's been getting things done for decades.
razorback86 3 years ago 3
razorback86~Nothing accomplished by Democrats??? Are you kidding me?? The Democrat Senate has one (1) single majority vote (51/49) over the Republicans. Republicans since Nov 2006 have stalled, fillibustered, blocked all positive bills from the Democrats. Democrats need a total 60 votes to pass a bill and override Bush's repeated vetos. Elect more Democrats in 2008 to the Senate and you will see good bills passed in Congress.
librophile 3 years ago
Sadly, this is the result of Nader's asinine stance that there is no difference between Bush and Gore etc. In short, Nader and the Democrats DO have a lot in common and SHOULD be working together. But unless someone agrees 100% with Nader, he thinks they are the enemy. Let's say he DID get elected. What will he do? Veto every bill for 4 years? He doesnt understand the art of compromise and of evolution of ideas (as opposed to revolultion). I am glad you posted this to show how govt realy works.

rabideau 3 years ago
Let me ask you, what is the benefit of giving voters a choice of a candidate that can not be elected? How does that offer citizen's a choice?
The only real effect of him running is as a potential spoiler. In this election, it would clearly help the Republican party. His rhetoric seems very much against what the Republican party stands for and will accomplish. Why help them get elected? Just to make a point?
DavidSilverlight 3 years ago
Well, giving voters a chance to vote for a candidate you consider not viable or a liability is the definition of choice. It is a choice you do not agree with. Dems shouldn't decide for everyone that Hillary is the only option if you do not like Repubs. TRULY independent voters do not want a Dem or a Repub so why would they vote Dem? Funny, I do not support Nader, I actually dislike him. However, I am tired of both parties strangling third parties to maintain their monopoly on politics. Selfish

librophile 3 years ago
Well buddy, do you or do you not get it?
Think about the kind of country you live in where you'd rather vote the lesser of two evils with corporate interest then vote for truth and vote your conscience.
This was also the problem in 2004. "Anybody but Bush." Is this really democracy? Do you understand that our founding fathers opposed two-party systems? Washington was an Independant. As you could tell lately in this country, the two party system is failing miserably.
mont3818 3 years ago 4
mon3818...Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich or Ralph Nader are all extra-ordinary men.
A VOTE FOR NADER IS A VOTE FOR McCAIN !!
librophile 3 years ago
mont3818- do you truly understand how evil Bush is? The reason people said "anybody but Bush" at first is because his incompetence and obsession with Iraq led to 911 - the most significant event of the our lifetime. Then, he USED that tragedy to take away our rights and DIVIDE the country by saying that the Dems would be soft on terror. Once Kerry was nominated, I dont recall people saying "anybody but Bush" much, because we knew we had a good candidate.
pfg999 3 years ago
Kerry was a shit candidate.
ZombiesNTea 3 years ago 3
Not really Zombies. He had the credibility of military service and he was very clear on where he stood in the war on Iraq. He didnt run the best campaign, and he got sleezed by the swiftboat scum.

He was an unlikable shit candidate. He looks like Dracula, for one.
Secondly, Nader talked to him and asked him to bring up some of Nader's issues. Kerry said he definitely would, and then did not.
He is a democrat, they are pledged to accomplish nothing.
4ourthofjuly 3 years ago
4our: Your view that Kerry resembles Dracula is useless. You Nader folks still don't get it. What Bush has done to this country may take DECADES to correct. It will not be done overnight and it will NOT be done by Nader. Do you know what 911 was? Do you not understand what Bush did that allowed that tragedy to happen? Do you not understand how significant this event has been in shaping policy for the past 7 years (e.g. Iraq)? The Dems would not have invaded Iraq and would have stopped 911.

Hm. People in this country still say shit like this? Interesting. How does this make you an American, exactly?

LittleRedMenance...People who are likely to vote for Nader are leaning more toward the Liberals side than they are toward the Conservatives side.
In simple english for your full comprehension, instead of voting for a DEMOCRAT their vote would then go for an Independant (Nader).
It is therefore a logical deduction to put forth my comment that a vote for Nader is in-deed a vote for McCain. McCain would be like a Bush's 3rd term in office. Do "We the People" really want that? I THINK NOT.

All of you Democrats are so duped by your candidates. They are all rhetoric. They do not promote policies that help the average citizen. They promote policies that hurt the economy and then try to force the rich to subsidize for the now struggling middle class. Republicans are to blame for this too! People, open up your eyes!
rabideau 3 years ago
Okay, so Republicans are to blame. So it makes sense to help them get elected? That doesn't seem like very clear thinking to me. If you directly help to elect the party that opposes everything that you stand for, doesn't that make your own argument just a bunch of rhetoric? It is wose than rehtoric, actually. It is rhetoric followed by actions that act completely opposed to your rhetoric.
DavidSilverlight 3 years ago
I don't think that Democrats are any better than Republicans. In many ways, maybe even worse. Because they have not been in power its easy to say Repubs are stupid but they are smart. Both parties want me to sacrifice civil liberties for some "greater" good. Democrats want sacrifice of economic civil liberties and certain social ones (like gun ownership). Repubs want sacrifice of mostly social and others (and even economic lately). Both are evil!
rabideau 3 years ago
You raise an excellent point, you are talking about Democrats vs Republicans here. Nothng about Nader. Why? Because a vote for Nader is a vote for McCain, but it is made by somebody who wants to pretend that they voted when they really just threw their vote away.
DavidSilverlight 3 years ago
Touche, I have strayed. You are assuming that someone who supports Nader prefers a Dem to McCain. Nader and Dems are similar, but Nader fans don't want Obama. According to Nader who cited exit polls, 38% of ppl who voted for him would have voted Kerry, 25% Bush, others would go home. Repubs said the same thing about Ross Perot. Perot got WAY more votes than Nader, 19%. So Perot handed Clinton the presidency. Repubs dont want Perot to run for the partys selfish gain, likewise for Dems about Nader
rabideau 3 years ago
He keeps mentioning "Voices and Choices" in his video. What is the point of having a choice that is unavailable? You are also arguing two seperate points. One is whether he was a spoiler (using exit polls) and the other is whether spoiler candidates are acceptable as long as they help your party. You can't use the second one to justify the first one. If you want to throw numbers out there, why not take a look at the election results that proved mathematically that he changed the outcome.
DavidSilverlight 3 years ago
Maybe him being a spoiler is irrelevant. Runaway success in Iraq would undoubtedly lead to a McCain victory at this point. Does that mean that a Dem-leaning general should not work towards that goal? Supporting Nader, which has the unintended consequence of helping McCain is not the same as voting McCain.
rabideau 3 years ago

If you plan on voting for Obama, or Clinton & you change your mind & vote for Nader then you are a glutton for punishment.
Nader should get the votes of those who wont otherwise vote... please!

A vote For nader is a vote for McCain

That's dumb, the Democrats won't end the war. Undoubtedly some in Congress want to, but not the elites who control the higher Senate and possible White House positions.

Obama has been Anti war from the start he spoke out befor Nader. Vote for him if you relly want chang
highlander924 3 years ago
highlander, Obama just mouths change. That is not change.

he Wants to keep troops in Afghanistan to fight the people who attacked my home city on 9-11. As for health care his system is the best one out there.
Do you support McCain? A vote for nader is a vote for McCain. Nader is the reason bush one.
Wouldn't you rather have Gore then bush? So wouldn't you rather have Obama then McCain?

Nader knows that he cannot win the 2008 elections...so he got paid by the Republicans to run to syphone votes away from the Democrats.

I bet he also knows how to spell "siphon." (sigh)

Awright siphon! Happy?
(Syphoner - a trojan that interects with your browser, detecting when you are logged into e-gold and empties your account into someone elses whilst you're logged in. A very neat way around Accsent, complex passwords,IP security and emails.)
In case you didn't know. Duh!!
librophile 3 years ago
Yes, "Librophile"; Nader should have known that the Supreme Court would throw away all those votes. And it's his fault that the the "Democratic" Party has an uncanny knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of landslide victory, and that they're about to do it again. They'll happily co-opt much of the Republican agenda, but ask them about real social, economic and ecological justice, and they'll piss themselves for fear of being called Liberal. But Nader should compliment the King's new clothes.
toddlerh 3 years ago 3
"toddlerh" Nader knew that he could NOT win the election and become President. His running only stripped the Democrats from votes and got Bush elected instead.
Now how did that help the American people? He didn't. He's about to do the same thing AGAIN in 2008. Nader should curb his SUPER-EGO and give a chance to the Democrats to be elected and bring much needed changes to our messed-up country.
A VOTE FOR NADER IS A VOTE FOR McCAIN !!!

Nader just got back in the race.
You ask yourself why?
He hasn't a snowball's chance in hell to win---
so why run?
Because of the media attention, because of the money he can raise, and because of the money he can make from public appearances and books etc.
This is just for the money.
Hmmm. Maybe I will run for President too. I could use the money.
TAMARLANE 3 years ago
Ridiculous, he lives on about $35K a year and gives his speaking fees to his non-profit orgs. How do your favourite politicians live? Obama bought a multi-million dollar home with the help of Rezko, the Clinton family gets all sorts of corrupt corporate money to live on.
maxime32 3 years ago
Nader is worth $4 millon. $35k?? Damn. Kinda low balling those figures, dude. He's a millionaire and will add to his millions during this election and no doubt he'll peddle his obsolete books too.
7789902 3 years ago
This dude only comes out when the Democrats look like they'll win. He's a republican in drag. Notice how he actually laughed the last time he helped the republicans win?
7789902 3 years ago
