  • Hey buddy, you have good tactics on explaining things.

  • Did you really wire that thing to your brake line to keep it from rattling?

  • this would make it hard to steal but i cant see it stopping them 100% i cant see them wasting time with cutting everything apart just to get away with it when they can be going after other cat plus they dont want to use up all there power

as a Construction Worker i can think of a few ways to cut it but would take time and a few batterys lol and to note anything can be cut

  • Helpful video, thanks. Someone asked if it makes any noise after installation - I've had mine under my 4Runner for a few months and have never heard a sound. No rattles or anything. Mine didn't come with springs to wrap it either. Just the basic clamp with a very long cable - almost too long, I had to wrap it around the sway bar a couple of times. It isn't pretty, but I don't think anyone will mess with it. The last converter was stolen in a NC hotel parking lot, which was a very costly hassle.

  • Nevermind, I didn't watch the whole video... LOL. Frame to Cat cable. Looks OK

  • Couldn't you just cut beyond the clamp? If you make the cut close enough you can slide the end of the clamp over? Just thinking out loud.

  • you kidding me people realy steal the cats out of cars/trucks??? saw a comerical and thought it was just some more crap to sell on tv.....strange thing is around my town we pay people to remove are convertes on are trucks lol

  • bolt cutters would def cut thos wires

  • heres a gooood tip u wasted ur money no one will steal ur cat twice ahahahahah they go for stock ones not after markets ones

  • @EaStxVaNxiNc why not go for after market ones. they have the same precious metals that they're after inside.

  • @urmomsayswhat HAHA no they dont the ones they steal have platinum in them thats why they worth money

  • @EaStxVaNxiNc what makes you think the aftermarket ones don't have platinum in them?

  • @urmomsayswhat HAHAHA DO U KNOW THE COAST OF PLATINUM U RETARD gose to show wut ur all about the new ones are hallow and is not honey cone dont even speak ur moms is wrong

  • @EaStxVaNxiNc hey man. I'm not trying to say I'm some kind of an expert, no need to get offensive. Honestly I've only ever changed one cat, and the aftermarket one I bought through Canadian tire looked exactly the same on the inside as the one that came off the car minus the fact that the old one was a little clogged from the car burning oil. but that is irrelevant. Without me ever taking one apart it would be logical for all cats to contain the same metals as the OEM ones to do the same job.

  • @EaStxVaNxiNc for the record too the aftermarket one I bought did have a honey comb or grid like mesh inside. it wasn't completely hollow

  • .45 cal. reloads are cheaper...easy to install on theives head. Just point and shoot! Fits all size, too.

  • Thank you for posting this. My catalytic converter got stolen about 3 weeks ago on Balboa Blvd. in Van Nuys. Cost me $500 because they also damaged my O2 sensor. Damn thieves. I only make $10 an hour so this really hurt me.

  • This stainless cable isn't that difficult to cut with manual cutters but if someone was coming to cut your cat out they most likely wouldn't carry them. I've cut cable like this before and it's not a big deal but unless you had the tool with you, you won't get through them easily. If a thief were to see this though he might get angry and cut up your exhaust anyways. Doubt it though.

  • ANYONE in the Los Angeles area who would like to try to cut my catclamp cables, and I will put the results on a video to post on Youtube, please contact me. Hey, I'd like to know myself. Will these aircraft cables stand up to their claims?

  • you realize that they can just cut further on the pipe which would result int aking your catalytic converter along with the $300 dollar catclamp lol?

  • Well, if someone really wants it, yes, you're right. But the main purpose is that once a thief see the clamp, they will move on to another car/truck which will be easier. from what I hear, most thefts occur in public parking lots. Also note that there are 2 strong cables attached to the converter that where ever they cut the exhaust pipe, they still must cut the 2 cables, which are attached to the frame of the vehicle.Note- I bought the catclamp that comes with 2 cables.

  • I REPEAT: ANYONE in the Los Angeles area who would like to try to cut my catclamp cables, and I will put the results on a video to post on Youtube, please contact me. Hey, I'd like to know myself. Will these aircraft cables stand up to their claims?

  • i would be happy if someone stole my catlaytic converter. my exhaust would sound better lol

  • I got hit 3 times for catalytics in Sacramento so I purchased 4 CatClamps for all my Toyotas. I tried cutting it myself. Bolt cutter won't touch it, neither will a Sawzall. Recently some parasite stole my whole 85 pickup. The cops recovered it with many items missing, but not the catalytic. In the privacy of their own shop they could not remove the CatClamp and they hacked it up pretty good. This is the original cheaper version too. I have photos if you need proof.

    Buy one, their worth it.

  • What if the CAT-Thief gets pissed off and cuts your car in half for making his life so difficult? lol, just kidding.

  • @tgamirov hahaha

  • a cordless zip cut will go thru that cable in seconds

  • ANYONE in the Los Angeles area who would like to try to cut my catclamp cables, and Iwill put the results on a video to post on Youtube, please contact me. Hey, I'd like to know myself. Will these aircraft cables stand up to their claims?

  • @sausageslaps exactly

  • I REPEAT: ANYONE in the Los Angeles area who would like to try to cut my catclamp cables, and I will put the results on a video to post on Youtube, please contact me. Hey, I'd like to know myself. Will these aircraft cables stand up to their claims?

  • WHO the fuck would steel a catalytic converter?

  • AndyX- Who? I call them motherfuckers, assholes and pieces of SHIT !!! That's who.

  • LOL - You got it head on Starzship - that's EXACTLY who these motherfuckers are! Right on dude! And you forgot that they're also living proof of why abortions are a GOOD thing, just too bad their mothers didn't make that right call !!

  • look it up the cat has metal in it that 1 pound can be worth about 8,000 dollars

  • was that a break line or a fuel line you wired to ?????

  • roadshowssss- I don't know actually. But a person who works at Catclamp wrote to me and told me to remove it from there. I haven't yet, but I will at some point.

  • October 2009- after 8 months, the wire is still tight and no wear or damage is apparent on the tubing I attached it to.

  • Today is Feb 2010- still no wear on the tubing I attached to.

  • I bought this after my second theft and I've been worry free for about a year now. It's a pain to put on but better then having to replace the damn converter every time it gets stolen

  • lol! I thought it was going to be for real Cats!lol darn It still looks like a really good anti thief device though.

  • wavygravy7 (cool name!)- that's for my next video!! LOL! Thanks for the comment.

  • Added security, scribe your VIN on the cat.

Also, though the armored cables running around frame members are a good idea, theives my just happen to have bolt cutters. I would weld a steel plate (tack weld) over the cat area, and if service is needed, your mechanic can cut the welds to work on the tailpipes.

  • I like that idea, would be a lot cheaper. 4runner would need to be a large piece of metal, width about 4 feet or so to reach each side of the frame. Length-wise, about 3 or so feet, depending how much of the rear part of the exhaust to protect. I didn't think of bolt cutters! Duh! The website states the cables are "specially designed heavy duty aircraft wire rope encases the entire converter. The wire rope is nearly impossible to cut without industrial machines." I hope it's true.

  • Bolt cutters will not go through cable. Check out their site, they are so confident of the catclamp working they offer a money back guarantee. I'm thinking if they offer a guarantee they would have tested bolt cutters. There also is a video here on youtube, the catclamp vs the catcuff, they try to cut through the cable with saw blades and the blade turns red hot and still doesn't get through the catclamp cable. It does however trash the cuff cable.

  • Wow Bro That Was Some Informitive Stuff Thx

  • sfdog- no, thank you!
