MPC - MV - VST - Damn it's all MUSIC man, one prefer a mpc while the other prefer a mv! Personally i prefer my mpc1000, but damn why hatin on a machine while that machine can't even talk back! Focus on the results of where that machine brings people man!! Makin DOPE ASS music man, cuz wheter it's a mpc or a mv, they both can produce GREAT music if the producer is GREAT!! One love y'all and to griffinavid >> GREAT BEAT + TRACK KEEP DOIN
I dont understand the difference between the song feature and the other one. Which is the one that you make a beat in and master from there? Which do you use when placing in vocals or can you just use one.
i just got mv 8800, how 2 connect fantom x6 wit mv? i did sum midi stuff but still i can't hear the sounds from fantom on mv, i have notes sequenced tho. could you help me?
Why do people leave comments talking crap about the mv or what ever it is (ESX,MPC,EVERYTHING)
Is it just the haters who cant afford it ? Yes it can all be done with something else but it can do alot. Give respect for those kind enough to spread some knowledge and quit hating.
Funny thing is, we all know you're right. Some people just think hating on something makes their balls grow or something..... Crazy world we're living in.
all this stuff is coming out...at the end you still have to go back to a computer..its not what u use its how you use it..the only difference between a Mac/PC vs AKAI or Roland its just portability..another great tool is the open labs neko thats a killer. But he is really comfortable using his stuff..mad probs go out to him. i rather just sit on my MAC and use logic to sample and sequence with reason 4.. i can do all that he is doing.lol
quitareason-you perfer to make beats on a MAC with reason 4? in the industry we call that mouse masturbation and you wont get far at all with that method.i suggest you get some outboard gear like an 8800 if you expect to get anywhere in this game-its all about SPEED and PRODUCTIVITY---not mouseing around
anyone know how i can make a make a an instrument from a wave sample eg(one guitar note) and still have it play normal without having short duration as go furtther the pitches if some cud help me i wud appreciate it .
im just getting my feet wet n the producton world n i wanted 2 know i there r any earlier versions of the mv that r more pocket friendly and dummie friendly,as opposed 2 gettn the mv-8800 and not know what 2 do with it!???
the earlier mv is just uglier, im not even joking, strictly a cosmetic upgrade to the 88 with the color screen and the standard vga output. nothings changed Inside, plus man give it like a day and ul have something goin, super user freindly the second you open it. hope that helped!
Played the mv 8800 for 2 weeks, returned it got an mpc 2500, and i was shocked by how bad akai got whooped by roland
That's not true, they've changed a lot... Sure, most of it is still the same hardware and the best changes are in the software, but don't say it's the same as an MV-8000. It's not. If you own a Mv-8000 already don't bother buying the Mv-8800 unless you really really think the new additions might help you a lot. All others should go for the mv-8800.
@DvsPolak Not just a cosmetic upgrade. There are things the MV8800 can do that the Mv8000 cannot do. However there have beeen some updates to the 8000 that make them much closer. check mvnation dot com for the comparison chart.
It does have a note repeat button, its just under a different name, roll. l did some research on the mv8800. This equipment is much better than the mpc's....Akai will have to step their game up, & I won't be surprised if their working on something now to be better than the mv's.
What up my dude the note repeat button, on the MV-8800 is called roll. plus you could set the timing at 1/2, 1/4, and 1/64. I don't which mpc you have, but my mpc2000xl don't have those notes i just mention, plus a whole lot more. If your just like me thinking bout buying the MV-8800. You cant lose that shit is about to be the industry standard...peace!
Clearly this machine has a voice , i think the mv spoke its message loud and clear

so how exactly is the midi keyboard and reason hooked up to the mv?
is it keyboard > computer > mv
or do u need an interface?
and if its that setup thru the comp, can i still use the keyboard to play sounds on the mv like a bassline?

Good look on the vid. Helped me make up my mind on the mv-8800 vs the mpc 4000 plus

go with roland it has better navigation than mpc--- speed is key in this industry
highrolln754 3 years ago
hell yeah, the mpc mainly a drum/sample sequencer, and is less visual. the mv is an all inclusive song production with itself.
