Sorry about my broad put-down. I shouldn't necessarily have assumed anything about you or your parish. But I AM curious if you're Anglican/Episcopalian. If you really are MarkGauvreau, I watched your video, and I assume if those churches you were in for your video are not RC, they have to be "high church" Episcopal--because I know of no other American denomination (other than Episcopal) that built churches in that same Gothic Revival style.

Yes, I'm Episcopalian, and although not entirely "high church" as you put it, my parish (St. Luke ITF) is grounded in Anglo-Catholic liturgy, so your mom might have trouble dealing with the incense we use.

Alpha, no, I haven't read V-2, and I'm no expert, so, SORRY. I remember my RC aunt got upset when the bishop forced her church to change all their music and move the altar.

I would like to point out to any Catholics who are watching this video that this approval is coming from a bishop from the Episcopal Church and NOT the Catholic Church.

Yup. The Episcopal (a/k/a Anglican) Church is the church that allows women to be priests, priests to marry, parishioners to use birth control, etc.

The Episcopal Church also has an enormously lower incidence of priest molestation cases than the Catholic church. (I guess they're not sexually repressed.)

For old timers out there who didn't like Vatican II's dumbing down of the liturgy, the Episcopal church never forced that on any parishes.

Priests who molest probably don't like the Episcopal church because they can't get sexual thrills from doing something "bad" & oppressive. We're not uptight about sex, so there's no thrill for that type of psyche.

Anyway, as much as I'm proud of the Episcopal Church, it is far from perfect. I & most of my fellow parishioners delight in our relationships & joint works with our RC brothers. You guys took CENTURIES to admit you're wrong about Galileo. You're slow & stubborn, but we still love you!

I wanted to remind him that it was on account of HOMOSEXUAL priests that the entire thing happened.

To FanOfDjorno: If you are Anglican, you must know that a number of dioceses are STILL hostile to the idea of women priests (and non-celibate gays, for that matter). Regarding liturgy, I guess you like "high-church" parishes. My mom has bad asthma. She can't attend mass at those places, and I think some of them spend disproportionately more time fussing over incense and fancy robes than doing good works.

Can you show me where in the documents of history you have the Church oppressing Galileo because of his teaching?

By the way, not all victims of the Catholic sex abuse scandal were males. There were also heterosexual Catholic priests who were sexually abusing girls, which is every bit as disgusting.
