The dad is so stubborn-ish in the original than he is in the remake. Well, the original is better than the remake. I love old films! They're the best!
brian keith, who played Susan's father, played the voice of Uncle Ben in the Spider-Man series... for some reason, I always think of him whenever he appeared in a comic.
@marvelmax03191 He was also in a series called Family Affair, also portraying an uncle who cares for his two orphaned nieces and nephew. I used to watch that show when I was a child (reruns, of course, on TVLand). That and My Three Sons. I remember falling asleep watching a marathon of both shows and others on New Years Eve 1999. :) I wish those two shows were still re-airing.
Maureen Ohara was such a beautiful woman. She was voted one of the worlds 5 most beautiful women. I think she deserved it. We don't have women like her in Hollywood anymore. She was a real woman.
@Paulionirichardsoni She wasn't "fake" singing as you call it. In an interview even Hayley Mills commented on how hard it must have been for Maureen to sing while walking on a treadmill. Now myself, I do good just to walk on a treadmill (◠‿◠) Maureen O'hara was actually a trained soprano singer. I love her singing "In the Garden" in the movie Spencer's Mountain, gave me chills.
this scene about biting the nails makes sense because Susan told Sharon she had to bite the nails because her dad would notice. In the remake, they just have Lindsay's dad notice she bit the nails but didn't have the girls actual bite them in the movie (it seems like they just added from this part without a context to give it meaning)

If you notice in Part 2 when they introduce the boy of Sharons interest, as "Stafford" as you can see in Part 2 0:03, then she is dancing with him and calls him Wilford, Part 2/ 5:20. Then in this part, (6) She calls him Stafford again, 0:03. Weird. Unless his name is Wilford Stafford, Or Stafford Wiflford, haha, Nice catching that other bloop, buqwik
How did they drive the car with the gear selector in park (5:15- 5:39). The rear view mirror was replaced at (6:14). Love finding bloopers and flubs LOL

@AllieCat356 it is not actualy blooper because Stafford was introduced as Trooper Stafford, the last name is used in scouts or military, so she called him Wilford since that would be his first name. Not sure why she called him Stafford again to her mother. His name would be Wilford Stafford.
@buqwik Oh and that could have been a standard. They did make standards that had the shifter on the steering wheel. But dricving that fast, he would have had to have shifted at least into 3-4th, haha, Look at his fingers when hes steering. He looks like he is 2 inches from the dash.

@smile12u it is not acutally a prop plane, it is a jet propeller plane, it has 4 jet propellers, just like our jet planes today. the propellers were just slowing down when it was filmed. it would have taken a few more hours than today because they didn't go as fast as today jets. but it is not like a crop dusting plane.
Lol to think they weren't walking anywhere, they were waking on a treadmill with a screen behind them, must have been hard for Catherine O'Hara to sing and walk on a treadmill at the same time!! :)
I personally like the remake more than this one :)

The music number is incredibly random, but it is classic Disney, so I'm not surprised. That and Maureen O'Hara has a beautiful voice.

@smile12u it is not acutally a prop plane, it is a jet propeller plane, it has 4 jet propellers, just like our jet planes today. the propellers were just slowing down when it was filmed. it would have taken a few more hours than today because they didn't go as fast as today jets. but it is not like a crop dusting plane.
