This is my dream car. I'm fkin 6'8, the best I can hope for is a truck or some lame mini van. I want a car that I can into just like everybody else. I can sit in the driver side without hittin the wheel with my knees or adjustin the seat. I can also sit with my legs fully reachin the peddles no problems. It also rides so quiet. Anybody with big friend knows we dnt like too much attention. So this car is perfect. I'm not a car guy but man I love this one.
And unlike this car, the computer knows how to use it- and so will I once I can afford it................. I will have to make do with my Nissan maxima for now......

@hhsfball05 Dodge did do an awesome job with the challenger! But if i had to pick from the big 3 ponies, i would actually go with the mustang. Best handling, best visibility, over all performance and comfort, and great build quality! then the Camaro, but they had some issues to take care of on it, like that nasty C-pillar terrible visibility. But the Challenger would be the only thing i would buy from Dodge, or Chrysler LLC.

I have to agree with DodgeFan439. Working in a parking garage I have seen both. The Challenger was easily recognizable as such whereas one has to do a double take on the Camaro to be sure of what it is. Even the Mustangs look close to the originals. Having owned a 69 Runner and a 72 Challenger back in the day I think Dodge hit one out of the park with this one, especially if it has HEMI letters on the hood.
I personally find these cars to be ugly....along with the new style charger. I'm sorry but for 41k I could build a better car with more horses under the hood. I would rather have a 4g trans am or camaro with a supercharged 383 stroker.

The Camaro is indeed invisible next to this car. Not to say the Camaro is not a nice car, but it's not in the same class as the Challenger SRT-8. Same as in 1970, the Camaro SS was no match for a '70 Challenger R/T. The Hemi and 440 cars, spanked the Camaro unmercifully, both in looks and performance. I was there, then and now.

As I said before, the Camaro is not a bad car, but the Challenger is simply a better car - all around, looks and performance. . One thing I will say this about the new Camaro. It's a great "CHICK CAR". Nearly all new Camaros I see are driven by women. With the CHALLENGER, it's a "MAN's Ride". So, I do give GM credit for building a good car for the ladies.

Dodge has done the best job to revive this model it looks the best. The mustang has the best quality interior and the camaro has the most sophisticated base engine with 304HP outta the V6, dodge pumping about 250 and ford only 210. If I was gonna go all out it would be the challenger srt8 with a 6 speed. If i was going for base model it would the camaro. Ford would be in between although their midrange 4.6 V8 is a very good motor.

Wow maegris, those are some bitter pills - guess your new Beetle broke down? As for a straight line, the SRT8 is one of the stickiest cars I have ever driven, and owned. Best part is, you can turn off the traction control and have the most free spirited ride you want then, turn it back on and effortlessly take the winding road home. If you don't like the Challenger, why are you here? The rest of us came because we recognize both muscle and art in motion. Retro done right, the muscle is a bonus.
Of all the retros, this is absolutely done right followed by Mustang and I'm sorry to say, Camaro is at the bottom of that heap. Camaro is a glorified Cadillac CTS. 2008 SRT8 #4073/6400.
I couldn't agree more. The Challenger looks EXACTLY how I would've imagined a modern version to look. Dodge kept the classic lines in all the right places. It stands out on the road much more than either of the other two. The Camaro SS is just hideous to me. And it needs more than 400hp as it's not much lighter than the SRT8.
@Khazule Actually, the SRT8 has 425HP, the Camaro SS has 426HP. The Camaro is about 200-300 lbs lighter, .3 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile, has better gas mileage, is over $10,000 cheaper, and doesn't take 91 octane only, like the Challenger does.
@Quatermain98526 Iam glad the Camaro ss is 10 grand cheaper and runs on different octanes. Its making the camaro out sell the Challenger by about 3 to 1. The 2011 SRT8 has 470HP, and is now faster in the 1/4 mile, and from 0-60. This is going to make the Challenger a future classic due to its low sale volume, and the camaro a rental at your local Hertz.
@bano11323 Sure the Challenger will become a classic some day. But there's no doubt the Camaro will also be a classic, the big three are building excellent and high quality muscle cars.
But in the short term, Dodge is digging itself deeper into a hole. I would wager that Dodge is losing money on building the Challenger, and unless things turn around soon they might be killing the Challenger again due to sluggish sales.

this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, the car is shit to drive. the steering is very uncommunicative, and the suspension is much too soft. it was built for straight lines.
once the camaro comes, it will blow this and the mustang out of the water with it's nurburgring-tuned suspesnion, and corvette v8.
it's still a shit car. the steering offers no feedback on the viper (whether the acr is different, i doubt it) and it loses grip at the drop of a hat. the driver must have really knew the track like the back of his hand, i give him credit.
anyway, in every single comparison test where the acr is competing, it always finishes last or 3rd (out of 4).

Really, Tell me one bad thing the viper does. I've never owned a dodge but have leased a viper for 3months on my trip, At 80mph I got 21 mpg on a 1996 viper v10 (6liter I think), When I try'd to speed shift the car tended to smell like burnt oil because the adaptor in the transmission wasnt tooken out...And to add this it not even turbo or supercharged. If their was turbo I'd be getting like 28mph maybe mid 30's
you know thats great for such a big engine, the corvette does just as well. But my problem with Dodge is that I work on them. Ford, Chevy, and Dodge, the Chevy's out of them all last the longest with the least amount of problems.

I do love this car though, if the R/T model had a beefier powertrain i would totally consider that over the Camaro, give it a 400hp engine, 300 less pounds, and one hell of a high ratio rear and id be sold, also i do believe these cars will hold their value and "wow factor" longer than the Camaro, but for now i'd stick with the bowtie

Dodge has done the best job to revive this model it looks the best. The mustang has the best quality interior and the camaro has the most sophisticated base engine with 304HP outta the V6, dodge pumping about 250 and ford only 210. If I was gonna go all out it would be the challenger srt8 with a 6 speed. If i was going for base model it would the camaro. Ford would be in between although their midrange 4.6 V8 is a very good motor.

Wow maegris, those are some bitter pills - guess your new Beetle broke down? As for a straight line, the SRT8 is one of the stickiest cars I have ever driven, and owned. Best part is, you can turn off the traction control and have the most free spirited ride you want then, turn it back on and effortlessly take the winding road home. If you don't like the Challenger, why are you here? The rest of us came because we recognize both muscle and art in motion. Retro done right, the muscle is a bonus.

Of all the retros, this is absolutely done right followed by Mustang and I'm sorry to say, Camaro is at the bottom of that heap. Camaro is a glorified Cadillac CTS. 2008 SRT8 #4073/6400.

I couldn't agree more. The Challenger looks EXACTLY how I would've imagined a modern version to look. Dodge kept the classic lines in all the right places. It stands out on the road much more than either of the other two. The Camaro SS is just hideous to me. And it needs more than 400hp as it's not much lighter than the SRT8.

@Khazule Actually, the SRT8 has 425HP, the Camaro SS has 426HP. The Camaro is about 200-300 lbs lighter, .3 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile, has better gas mileage, is over $10,000 cheaper, and doesn't take 91 octane only, like the Challenger does.

@Quatermain98526 Iam glad the Camaro ss is 10 grand cheaper and runs on different octanes. Its making the camaro out sell the Challenger by about 3 to 1. The 2011 SRT8 has 470HP, and is now faster in the 1/4 mile, and from 0-60. This is going to make the Challenger a future classic due to its low sale volume, and the camaro a rental at your local Hertz.

@bano11323 Sure the Challenger will become a classic some day. But there's no doubt the Camaro will also be a classic, the big three are building excellent and high quality muscle cars.
But in the short term, Dodge is digging itself deeper into a hole. I would wager that Dodge is losing money on building the Challenger, and unless things turn around soon they might be killing the Challenger again due to sluggish sales.

Infinity, mercedes, lexus all have sedans weighing as much as the Challenger srt8 that are hybrids with similar performance #'s available now!!!!......The muscle car will always find a way.....

it's still a shit car. the steering offers no feedback on the viper (whether the acr is different, i doubt it) and it loses grip at the drop of a hat. the driver must have really knew the track like the back of his hand, i give him credit.
anyway, in every single comparison test where the acr is competing, it always finishes last or 3rd (out of 4).

Really, Tell me one bad thing the viper does. I've never owned a dodge but have leased a viper for 3months on my trip, At 80mph I got 21 mpg on a 1996 viper v10 (6liter I think), When I try'd to speed shift the car tended to smell like burnt oil because the adaptor in the transmission wasnt tooken out...And to add this it not even turbo or supercharged. If their was turbo I'd be getting like 28mph maybe mid 30's
