This version of Password is practically designed to cause this kind of screwup. As soon as you start bantering about "a good clue would have been..." you know what's going to happen next.
I wish GSN would return pass shows again when they did when came on ....Now its info stuff n nothin......bring back Joker wilds Gambit Gong show...you don't say..Press you luck and Old Lets make a deal too!
GSN used to show the Richard Dawson era of Family Feud...Hollywood Squares(H2), Weakest Link, Password Plus with host Allen Ludden....please no more Deal or No Deal...we've seen the million dollar winners, keep Lingo I enjoy playing that while I watch.
Man I love Super Password!!! GSN should do a blooper marathon! Show the full episodes of Super Password, Family Feud (DAWSON AND COMBS VERSION ONLY!), The Newlywed Game (EUBANKS VERSION ONLY!), and of course, the ever so awesome Match Game! Burt Convy was always one of my favorite Game show hosts and it sucked that he had to die so young...
The crapper/cropper incident sort of reminded me of one moment that happened to me. When my mom was asking our friend David Levy about what to wear to dinner, I thought she said crap pants instead of crop pants.
@CoreyD1086 Actually, Bert started feeling ill in April 1990, just after taping a pilot episode or two of ABC's revival of "Match Game" that he was to have hosted. Ross Shafer landed the hosting job, which lasted from July 16, 1990 to July 12, 1991. Bert died just three days after that show's finale.
Did the "Oysters" incident happen before the "Potato Head" incident, or after? If "Oysters" happened after "Potato Head", that would explain the female celebrity (BTW, who is she?) saying "You did it? Again? You know, this is really disgusting" in the "Oysters" incident.
It often happens that because the passwords relate to the solution to the puzzle, clues to the various passwords end up being the solution to the puzzle. I think I recall seeing an episode of Password Plus or Super Password where the puzzle was "Maryland" and that came up as a clue. But it's OK as long as the host doesn't say it. Allen Ludden would never do that! :-)
What would have been more hilarious is NBC (or Bert) could have given both contestants $100 or $200 every time he goofed, obviously outside of the main game score. It's too bad that we will most likely never see another host like Bert.
you need to switch positions with the ones with Patty Duke and the black guy celebrity the second one should be first and the first one should be second
@Jamescs007 They would continue as long as the host didn't say it. There was one case where the celebrity, I forget who though, tried to guess the puzzle twice for some reason. I'm guessing he was kidding for his second guess, but it turned out his second guess was the answer to the puzzle.
"Hmm...cloth"
LMAO seriously, Bert?
