@NicoleEHenson billy Elliot is one of the greatest musicals of all time and that isn't just my opinion and ur saying that it's rubbish is a bit weird…
@CadetJumbo i agree with you that this is one of the greatest musicals but broadway cannot do it. i've seen both and the west end version is alot better. the Geordie accents in this are poor in comparison to the west end version. which is what @NicoleEHenson is saying
The dancing, singing and just general movement on this clip I extremely poor. The West End versions are much better and the accents are brilliant. I saw it in 2006 when Sally Dexter was portraying Mrs Wilkinson and that was the woman/show that inspired me into performing. This on the other hand, bored me.
@NicoleEHenson Yeah I too think the original West End version is far superior to the Broadway version. Even our Australian version kept very true to the West End's style and the acting was superb. I just think the Broadway version is way too toned down (the language, dialogue etc.) and doesn't -really- capture what the play intended.
@BusinessDog2000 Well I wouldn't say any version of the show could be called "superior" to the others. It all depends of what kind of venue and audience the show has. Every show on Broadway has to be big, splashy, as that is the way Broadway audience like their show to be. The English version followed by the Australian is indeed closer to the original, for instance the USA tour is smaller in size but equals the quality of The West End and Broadway.
i love this show so much that i want to see it again =']

This number gives me chills whenever I see it. The canon between the police and the dancers is unbelievable.

those pirouettes are enviable. I saw this in Toronto when Cesar Corrales was performing. SO amazing!
