The castle legally belonged to the county Brasov. The retrocession was just another stupid act of totally submission to the interests of strangers , of americans in a too obedient country that Romania, unfurtunately, became.

Bran is not Dracula's castle,that's a kids show for economic reasons.

A pretty much rubble castle called Cetatea Poienari(Poienari Citadel) is Dracula's castle,but it's unaccesible(built on a mountain top),and apart for crumbling stones you have nothing to see there.

Also, "Romania favorite national monument", hah! oh please there are better monuments than that. Peles castle is 100times better in every respect.

Bran is a "lights show" for tourists.

Vlad Tepes lived in Transsylvania only 3 or 4 years, in SIGHISOARA the oldest still populated Middle Ages town, so you swould visit SIGHISOARA in sted of BRAN, this is said by me, liveing in Brasov. @1980theone well I heard his father was in an order called Order of the Dragon but I don't know much about it.Well Vlad was his son but he became Domnitor or Ruler of the Wallachia or Tara Romaneasca in the 15 century(1448 his first rule) He helped Stephen the Great to revenge his fallen father and exile Petru Aron to Hotin were he will stay a while.Well he punished all traitors and all thieves.Why he Impaled them ? because the Impale was the only punishment that everyone would listen.

Indeed this was one of Vlad Tepes castels, but his main castle is called Cetatea Peonari, the true Draculas castle. Bran castle is more accessible to the tourists, thats why has been promoted in such a way that even France24 makes hilarious mistakes like this.
