  • put some glow sticks or leds on here and do it at night at a rave to some dubstep music. that would be amazing. this has so much room for building on to. nice tricks man.

  • WOW...Awesome! Is that a 2 string or 4 string kite?

  • Kites are dumb lol

  • When I saw this my jaw dropped open and I just kept saying: "Wow!...Holy F***!...OMG!" over and over

  • the single tip touchdown around 2:50 was jaw-dropping......

  • LOL

A god kite like that can be OVER 250 euros

(level ones blak pearl for example)

were can you buy a kite like that for under 100 euros inside europe?

    (or can you?)

  • I was in a trance watching this video. Never seen as skillfull flying in my life. Love it. Thx

  • @hughjass1019 credit goes to Erich Vogl, the kite flyer in this film. I just uploaded this so that more people can see the sport and how awesome trick flying can be (with practice that is)

  • Really cool man!

  • your good

  • Great stunts from a cool kite, thanks for posting

  • That is fake :)) the kite never leaves the camera area. Blank sky + computer generated kite. cause.... IMHO unreal movements (gravity + speed, etc) lol :) regards luke the puke :))

  • @gintacz The number of other video's of kites doing the same thing (maybe not as well in all cases) on the left there would suggest you're wrong.

Looks like you might have to go outside and see whats been going on in the 'real' world while you were sitting in front of your computer screen...

  • @gintacz

I love it when people can't believe what is going on... You are an amazing kite flyer and I can only wish to have that amount of control some day. I can tell you for certain that this is real and the kite is real and the pilot is real. He is just better than most and it kinda blows your mind. 8-)

  • sry but I could not find one thing? I guess it is pretty important. How long are strings in this case?

  • @czechproud the strings are typically 80 feet with 150# strength.

  • how can you make it flip like that?

  • that was great

    DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • Bought a stunt kite at the beach and flew it at the beach but i live where the wind does not and I was addicted the first time i got the kite up.... Needless to say I'm going through withdraws :(

  • I used to have a stunt kite, i never knew they could do flips like that! i only thought thay could spin.. how on earth do you do that?

  • any tips for me?

    watch?v=mYUMmHivjpo

  • Having just started in my journey to learn how to do tricks and stunts, I really love this video. It's amazing what you can do with stunt kites.

  • ok ? verry funny ? but id like to just keep my kite in the air i could fly it in a tornado and it still wouldnt stay up lol great video nice kite flying

  • Absolut genial... Ich fliege erst seit wenigen Tagen und bin schwer begeistert von dieser Technik.

    Gruß aus Irland

  • really cool...I used to use two of the old Peter Powel stuntkites when I was a kid ....but this is just so responsive and controlled ! awesome !! thanks for posting

  • I love this vid the Genesis is my next kite..its on my wish list ; ) But aack! the music!...so cheesy... sounds like its from an infomercial for some over priced sports equipment..."you can have a body like this too with just four easy payments!"...................Armin Van Buurin would sound so much better.

  • great work, I got my first stunt kite, tryin to do somthing other then boomerangs outdoors, just need some good wind. I'd love to learn how to make it flip like that, but I know I gotta learn to keep up in the air first. I didn't know this sport was so serious.

  • I'm in love......

  • damn is that a kite or a radio controlled kite??? awesome! i went to harewood house kite festival last weekend and none of them even flew close to this!

  • Is this real then??? Holy crap!!! You should have been a fighter pilot.

  • ddsdsad

  • all i can say is amazing

if you make another can you show the guy so we could see how to do it please?

  • how is half of that even possible?

  • Pretty darn cool, I have a New tech- Techno, i dont think mine's made to do that, like flips facing you and away from you. seems like my strings would get wraped around the tale tips. kite looks similar in shape to yours though. or maybe i just need to learn it better.

  • that was cool i know some of those tricks i havent flown my kite in a while i have a hypnotist (Mirage)

  • I know this sounds stupid but how do you keep the strings from getting tangled like that?

  • @phishingword

not a stupid question. basically you still have control over the kite even if you have 4-20 wraps. just because the lines cross doesn't mean your automatically lose control. You still have tension in the string so that you are still able to turn. more wraps on the lines just makes it a little harder to turn as there is more friction preventing the lines to be push/pulled to turn.

  • Butter.

  • super flying !!!! its perfect ......

  • U lie .....

Brilliant skill :) wonder when i can tell other this is standard stunt :)

  • just got my kite for xmas. amazing video how long did it take you to get to where you are now. any tips, tutorials you could recommend

  • Freestyle Pilot DVD by prism kites. great DVD you have a much better kite then any prismkite. But the dvd is well done. it will break every trick down for you. Mark Reed is a great flyer. And get your self around other kiters they are a great group of people. Good Luck and Smooth Winds Thomas

  • Shit Hot!

  • Dude...your calling that Standart Tricks ?

    Its awsom !!!

Im an amature for now and i have a Big Bang kite...

Hope to reach this level sometime...

  • wouldnt the strings get tangled ?

  • of course the strings would get tangled, however that doesn't mean you will lose control. just because you have 1 or even 30 wraps around your line still allows you to fly the kite. the more wraps you have on your line, the harder it is to steer as there is more friction.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO THANK YOU

  • cgi...

  • no way, ,i just started kiting, this is amazing,, how can i learn to do this...

  • truly badass... music is perfect too.

  • Nice flying! I use to take my son out and do this every weekend. Got our kites at "Into The Wind" out of Colorado. Try putting LEDs or small bright battery lights on your kites and fly at night. It's a blast! - Fly on Flyer!

  • How can i put LED's and energize it? Do you have any tutorial for it?

  • I've used LEDs from toys that run on watch batteries, taking them out and securing them with tape, wire or string. Glow Sticks also work well. Look for LEDs that are BRIGHT. - Be cautious around highways and busy streets, as some people think they're seeing a UFO out in the field. - The bigger the kite the better to sustain the weight and be sure to balance what you add evenly. - 10' wide kites can carry batteries if wind is strong. It's pretty cool!

  • Yeah! Thank you.

I'm thinking in a way to attach LED lights to my kite, but I still don't know how. The glow sticks is a big idea. I'll ask my friend which is electronic technician to help me to build the circuits.

  • Good luck with the *lighting up the night* - Years ago I had a very tiny stunt kite. It wasn't much wider than a computer moniter. I had my doubts but bought it and tried it one day. Man, that little kite was the fastest, wildest, craziest thing I ever owned. It was QUICK! I learned to control it and had some great times with it. (You gotta pay attention to it!) - Have fun man.

  • This cant be real. I work at a kite shop and have never seen this done, ever.

  • This is a niche sport, meaning only a handful of people know how to really unlock the tricking potential of stunt kites. By all means, this is REAL. don't believe me? look at the other videos on the internet with "stunt kite and tricks" in the search bar. the reason why this video is amazing in particular is that the pilot consistently links tricks, bewildering the viewer. also check out gwtwkiteforums for more help on how to trick.

  • im a kiteboarder, and deal with all types of kites on a daily basis...this is really pretty wild, its definitely opened my mind up to trying new things with my kites.

  • @YamasakiBJJ

what kind of kite shop do you work at? eeek

  • @YamasakiBJJ Have you never seen the Prism Freestyle Pilot video?

  • That's just amazing, never seen anything like that before !

    Thumbs up :)

  • to nice dude :D

  • I have been flying a stunt kite for a few months and don't understand how to do any of these tricks :(

  • freakin amazing

  • reminds me of a swallow

  • HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?! I mean, okay, im a beginner, and I have a crappy-beginner-kite. I can do some loops, or land the kite, but not this stuff omg :D Anyone can tell me if this is possible with a "normal" kite?

  • i didn't know this was possible

    dumbstruck

  • welcome to the trick side of stunt kiting. I too was left dumbstruck after seeing some of these guys fly. I now use these videos for reference when i practice.

  • NICE EDITING!

  • The best trick in the Video is the trick at 2:48!!!

    Great vid!

  • get a bebop stunt kite there easy to fly

  • Do not get a bebop, terrible kites. Get a thunderstruck, their great for begginers and have a lot of safety features so you wont break the spine

  • im new new to kites wanted to ask what would be a good starter kite. i was looking into PRISIM any thoughts or reviews in this company....thanx for the help

  • You just checked out a Level One Kites video and ask for Prism? weird place to do so. Anyhow, go check Level One kites as well, there awsome :P

  • that is soo bloody good!!

  • i bet his strings are well tangled!! lol

  • whats the song

  • i can't get my stunt kite off the ground any sugestions?

  • MORE WIND LOL

  • Comment removed

  • Attach your lines to the bridles!!

  • my eye was almost put out by one of these things! my brother was flying one with a metal point on the end and it swooped down and hit me in the eye! ):

    nice tricks though.

  • by the way--even though i respect your ability,i challenge you to a kite duel--your genesis vs. my 17m pl bomba in a fight to the death

  • wow!that guy knows some good tricks--wish i was that good

  • dude I cant even land mine

  • Reminds me of a barn swallow. Very agile.

  • it looks fake almost

  • how many lines is this?! that's insane!!!

  • 2, but the way you pull them is how the kite tugs, the wind needs to be in the right direction to blow the kite round...

  • oh my god .... do i love kites ... and i do aprediate this vid with music ....im a beginner at kite flying and i would muchly value your wisdom and experience in the kite flying field, i await your response... an avid and beginner kite flyer

  • Great Video! The Genesis is a super Trick Kite!

  • Very cool!

  • kool

  • i challenge you to aerial combat with my skywasp785!!!!

  • i can do that stuff. i used to compete. my favorite winds are 4-7mph. can do awesome ground work at those speeds. great camera work. it's hard to follow a kite moving that quickly.

  • That is awesome! I can only turn corners and loops. Your controll is insane.

  • fyi this isn't my kite footage. i own a genesis and this is the video that i watch to seek inspiration!

  • How is this even possible? Amazing video!

  • 1:38 is sick

  • superrrrrrrrrrr >>>>>>>>>>>>>>:)))

  • nice....superb....good job... :)

  • i swear he has 4 lines

  • this guy can fly! totally attached to the kite and nature at the same time, SWEET!

  • In most belly up rotations the lines are carried around with the kite either over the trailing edges or over the nose in most belly down rotations the lines hang freely away from the kite. With pitch rotations the lines are allowed to roll up either side of the nose or tail of the kite this action is a bit like the way a Yo-Yo rolls up and down the string. All of thes movements can also be mixed together in different combinations and it this that gives the movements a complex looking 3D effect.

  • I totally don't understand how this kind of kite flight is accomplished. I don't see how there can be any lines attached since the kite appears able to rotate about any axis! How is it done?

  • Awesome video. I am new to doing kite tricks, just wondering how you prevent your lines from getting court on the tips of your kite?

  • super :)

  • Great video.

  • allways a pleasure to watch Erich

  • how do you get it to flip forwards and backwards like that>?

  • lol, wow! I need more practice

  • Hey maybe you can help, I have found that where I live (Northern VA.) there is not much wind here at all, daily. Because of this it is very difficult for me to get my stunt kite up in the air and use it. Is there a solution to this? or am I just out of luck with the area I live in.

  • What Kite are you using Kozcan this can have a significant bearing on whether you can fly in light winds or not. Most good quality standard kites should go down to a fairly light wind although it may not be very easy to fly or trick. An ulrtalight or super ultralight might be the answer although these obviuosly need a certain amount of wind to fly properly. Technique also plays a big part and this will depend on your experience so the key is to find the right kite and practise a lot.

  • the Prism Zephyr is soposed to fly in 1 - 17mph wind

  • cooool!!!!!!!!!

  • I always dreamed of being able to do this, lol. Incredible.

  • very nice, at what wind speeds do you do this tricks? Can it be done at any speed?

  • from my experience, 2-7 mph would be tricking range, though it varies from pilot to pilot. Tricking is easiest to do when the winds are slower, allowing the kite to finish rotations. You can trick in higher winds, but your timing must be precise or else you might snap a spar.

  • oke, thx. I got a stunt kite about a week know. Just learning how to fly it good and to hold it in the air XD

  • i wonder how many years it takes to get this good, i had no clue kites could do these things

  • Hmm, I might have that wrong, actually I think he said that he moved one of the nose weights down to the center T, and add the 15g to the tail.

    from babblefish:

For the optimization of the Yoyo of behavior I down-pushed one of the two in series in the nose attached weight cases to the central cross and attached at the keel tab end an additional weight of approximately 15 g.

  • Did some reading. Erich Vogl said that he moved one of the nose weights down to the upper spreader, and then added and additional 15 grams to the tail.

    Cool!

  • Great flying!

I'd love to know what his settings are on that Gen..

    They are great kites!

  • Great video and excellent flying *****

  • wtf is that a 2 string kite?

  • welcome to trick kiting. feel free to be amazed at what kites can do beyond just turning corners.

  • in the beginning does the guy do a flic flac?

  • in the VERY very beginning, the move is called a pop-up to a fade. the definition of a pop up is when the kite is pointed away from you similar to the introduction of this vid, and you pull so the kite doesn't over rotate to a fade. but in this case, the pilot purposely gives slack to the pop-up so that the kite will rotate into a fade (kite on its back) hope that helps.

  • hey there just wanna say awesome flying, just read your blog about the lines crossing, I understand this concept as spin and then spinning the other way to untangle np. The thing is how do you get the kite to flip and you should do a learning vid or 2 ;)

  • its called a flic flac, you lay the kite down the point facing you and then flick one angle back and once it's in the air flick the other string up towards your face the flick them both at the same time. It's very very easy!

  • This is a film of 'tricky ricky' flying in Germany, I think. He is one of the best out there...see the Androgyn kite videos if you can find them. Great pilot.

  • Yes dual line kites do use two lines to fly but it isn't too important if the strings wind up as there is still tension on each line. Using your arms as an analogy, if you cross your arms, your right hand is still your right hand, though you have added resistance in the middle where your arm is rubbing against your other. line is much thinner so basically your response is reduced with more wraps as you go. you can still fly the kite with the lines twisted.

this isn't my video, just posted it

  • ohh ok thanx

  • umm.. i have a question. If that kite has to strings (which im sure it does) would'nt the strings cross up and twist and wind up when you spin the kite?

  • how long did it take you to master this skill? and which one did you start out on? What would you recommend for a beginner?

  • AWSOME PILOTING!!!!!!!!!! whats the wind speed roughtly?

  • wow! i do a little bit of stunt kiting during my free time but no where near this quality of tricks :) great job

  • I'm a happy owner of EVO1 :) grate kite :)

  • I never liked freestyle flying until I saw this clip! Now I want to learn some new tricks! Awesome!

  • Top Notch flying effing brilliant.

  • It's not the kite really. Just about any quality kite by any number of makers can do these tricks. What is amazing is the pilot. Whoever it is is worldclass. Period

  • thats a 145 right? :o i wanna know how to do those tricks T_T

  • Awesome!Awesome!Awesome! This clip is one of the best I have seen.Level One kites Kick Ass!

  • Oh this isn't my kite video. i'm posting it as there wasn't a genesis kite video on youtube. I own a genesis stunt kite, and this is my source of inspiration to see what this kite can do. credit is due to the kite flyer: Erich Vogl

  • Thx. 4 the clip I heard that this kite is a good choice. Going 2 get one myself though :D

Oh... don't forget is being sewn in Poland. No need 2 be afraid - we make kites for over 20 years :P

  • Wow! This is no less than robotic. I have seen a lot of pilots do some crazy things with kites, but the skill it takes to pull this off is amazing.

  • That's amazing. Would love to see more. How long have you been flying?
