There are actually some militant pediatricians and other arsoholic agenda pushers in Canada who want to enforce helmet-wearing for children tobogganing. Seriously. They call it the 'Noggins And Toboggans' campaign. The world gets sicker by the second while it tries to stay well.
grew up with Canadian winters which my children now have the pleasure of experiencing. they built a fort in the snow last week. you don't know how much it makes me smile seeing them outside enjoying the snow instead of sitting inside playing video games. the nature that surrounds us keeps them old school. hooray!
@CanadaFamilyMan Amen to that! Childhood is much too precious, much too short to let it go without enjoying it. Maybe that's why now, when I'm 51 years old, I sometimes stop and watch kids playing and just having a good time. Let kids be kids!!!
If you're familiar with Joe Raposo's style, it's rather easy to tell which composotions were his. This one particularly rules, and I feel the kazoo work adds that Joe Raposo touch-- while his music is nice, he knows how to keep it silly for kids. If you like this tune, check out "animals fighting on film"; a Joe Raposo jam-classic!
Awesome! Thanks for posting this- I haven't seen it probably since I was a kid. Growing up as a child in a tropical climate, I used to see this and wish I could have a White Christmas like that with snow to play in! :-)
I guess you guys are Sesame Street experts. I've seen many segments posted where the person knew exactly what year the skit came out and who composed the music on many short 70's films. How do you know that Raposo composed the music and where did you find out this information?
I've heard his music before. It's the style. Did you know he also composed the theme to "Three's Company?" There's even similarities in that theme if you listen closely. I've also watched the show long enough to know approximately when what certain sketch came out.
Sigh. I miss playing in the snow.

If there's 1 thing I've learned in the last 2 decades, it's that no child should be in a hurry to grow up.

Flutes and baby bells sparkling atop the melodies is usually a strong hint you're listening to Raposo.

I respect your opinion, but love the robots and satellite spot. It inspired me to collect old metal wind up toys.
