I watch family guy cause i think it was funny but then there was this episode that hit me hard like a ton of bricks. They were making fun of a child who had cerebral palsy who wanted to be a doctor but the main characters were just laughing. It hit me strait at home cause my sister who overdured 10 surgerys cause of her cerebral palsy and currently a normal 15 year old girl
I think it's all a bit exaggerated. The character was quite dignified as far as Family Guy characters go. In fact she was the the vocal point of affection. There were a few cracks in there about her having syndrome of down, but for the most part she was portrayed as controlling/dominant character rather then a character with a mental illness.

Fuck off Palin. The show was not making fun of people with Down Syndrome. If you actually watched the show you would see that the character with Down Syndrome comes up on top at the end. The actress doing the voice for this character has Down Syndrome and says that Palin is wrong in this issue. Palin is just using her kid to get some more media spotlight. FUCK YOU!!!!!!

If anything the episode shows how a girl with down-syndrome is capable of having a social life and being a regular kid, unlike what some people think of when they hear the words "down-syndrome".

I watch family guy cause i think it was funny but then there was this episode that hit me hard like a ton of bricks. They were making fun of a child who had cerebral palsy who wanted to be a doctor but the main characters were just laughing. It hit me strait at home cause my sister who overdured 10 surgerys cause of her cerebral palsy and currently a normal 15 year old girl

I think it's all a bit exaggerated. The character was quite dignified as far as Family Guy characters go. In fact she was the the vocal point of affection. There were a few cracks in there about her having syndrome of down, but for the most part she was portrayed as controlling/dominant character rather then a character with a mental illness.
Just because one can relate, doesn't make the jokes worse. What group -hasn't- been made fun of? It's just satire for crying out loud.

So palin has no reason to be offended, they didn't say anything bad about her son and his disease, so sarah can calm down and go back to swinging on her chair all day or whatever it is she does.
