I love my late husband now and forever for introducing me to this beautiful classic while we were together for many years before his passing. THANK YOU !!
This song takes all the pain away, the sorrow when your in the blues. Makes you feel just right, like theres nothing to worry about. Thank you for uploading the song!
I had the honor of introducing Ace at the Natchitoches Jazz and R&B festival in Natchitoches, La back in '04. GREAT set, great musician. I was under the impression I would get up, do a little intro then get down, Nope. he looks at me and says "I need about 20 minutes kid, vamp....."
I was totally unprepared, but managed to pull it off then was blown away for the next 30-45 minutes. (I can't tell you because the music was **THERE**, ya know?)
@latepayer Really? Is Ace still with us? I love this song. I'm getting a sax, and this is the only song I want to learn. It sounds so simple, of course to make it sound great is a whole different matter. I remember it from when I was a kid, I'm 63.
Late 90's .....Early morning.....10am.......I was walking down Decatur (NOLA) half ok, half not........but looking for a place to get fully ok again.....walking and thinking and I heard this unbelievable sound waifing out the door of a locals...a sax guy....I knew he felt about like me ........I had seen him playing at a club over on Bourbon around closing time ........it's a hard life sometimes.......Somehow a cool sax makes all seem good again........
1960 something. my dad and brothers laying on the living room floor, just listening to this album, it was called "Ace Cannon, Tuff Sax". What a GREAT time to be alive. dang.
i had this album and someone stole it from me. this was one of he BEST music vinyls of ALLL time. my dad and brothers would listen to it (circa 1962 or so) and it just speaks of the time and the atmosphere of america at that time (i was only 8 or so). i SO wish i could find this album again.
I was 17 and just out of boot camp. I found a little restaurant that had this on the juke box. I went in there and played this song. God, I was lonely, away from family, and young.
@GrandpaN1946 I'm 65, and this song was one of the most popular songs on the juke box when I worked at the skating rink in Greenville Texas, when I was in my teens, I'm sure you remember the days when you could take a girl out on a date with three bucks in your pocket and come home with change

@ENDOFTHE202 Yeah good description of a moment in time that just hangs in your mind. I know exactly
what it does. The sound just kinda folds you in like it knows you like you belong. Its heart to heart.

I remember listening to Ace Cannon when he was part of Bill Black's Combo. Ace is the best and so is Boots. I favored this video .
Bill.
