that was when I came across the verse in daniel. It is one of the only verses that mention a catalyst that catapults the world into the great distress. Not one verse mentions the church being removed as the catalyst or even the Holy Spirit working in the church.
Given that verse and what we see in revelations..i think one would be hardpressed to find anythin spoken more clearly regarding the restrainer than this.
one passage that always catches my attention is the one that says by the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
Once i started to question the pre-trib rapture, I decided to look into the topic of the restrainer. I was like, ok if its the holy spirit it should mention it somewhere in the scriptures. He's not gonna leave it up to questionable debate.
The words translated as "taken out of the way" are usually translated as "arises from our midst". The topic of the passage is the coming of Jesus. Verse 3 tells us that the man of lawlessness will be revealed before that day comes. "And now you know what is holding him (Jesus) back" > the man of lawlessness must first arise from our midst.
Hello there Dennis. Words are translated according to the context and considering that I don't know of a translation which translates it as you say it should be done, I will stick with the experts. In any case, it makes perfect sense to me the way it is. God bless, Mick

Hello Dennis. I just looked at 7 of the major translations and they all say "taken out of the way".

I'm speaking of their translations in other passages. Ginomai-Strong's 1096 and Mesos-Strong's 3319. I apologize for not being clear.
