  • I got worried about the quake they had near vancover island last week (mag 6.5). Could be a precursor.

  • ther have been 6 earthquakes on th cascadia subduction zone above a 4 in the last 6 days (march 18, 2010). be prepared, just in case.

  • @shermanplus5 That is not new. There are thousands of earthquakes every year around the pacific plate, some noticeable, most not. All it means is that the region is seismically active, which tells us next to nothing about when the next quake will hit with any certainty.

  • Civilization in terms of rapid growth seems reletively new. There is a good deal of guess work pertaining to all time gone before that. Maybe living in larger communities caused strong physical mutations. Mutatation could occur; (as with dogs and cats) when there are "special selection factors" like genocide and group loyalties. All in all civilization has all the security of a spreading plague. It will probably run its course then reluctantly change its course.
