Short instructions for those who are just so damn slow to understand his speach.

Download the file. Put it in internal sd-card. Boot to the recovery by holding volume up + home key + power. All at the same time. When the Galaxy S screen pops out, you can release the buttons. Install the .zip you downloaded

I dowloaded the update.zip file to my comp. then ticked usb debugging. plugged in and my computer showed two sources of storage presume one was my internal sd card and one was my external sd card so saved it to both.. on reboot my option was 'update from sd card' i tried a couple of things including taking out ext SD, but thats all i got. clicked on it anyway, it had a update.zip option on the screen following, so tried it but it failed... do u know where i went wrong?

@vikkisarah2612 i suggest you dont do it it froze my phone den when i had to reroot all my phone wiped all my information. its up to you tho . the method is download the newest update then get odin v3 and den download the file on to desktop open odin then click pda find file and then transfer to phone. to do this just turn phone off . when off hold power down and the home button. should say downloading. plug wire into computer and click start on odin goodluck

I got the official 2.3.3 (XXJVO) update through Kies yesterday (june 14th 2011) on my stock Galaxy S, but is the custum or stock 2.3.4 better? Not too impressed by the battery of 2.3.3....and there isnt a CRT screen-animation or that yellow glow if I hit the end of the scroll... I've heard of 2.3.4 from Darky or MIUI...But is that really better and HOW DO I ROOT 2.3.3 XXJVO for that??? Thanks in advance!!

Ok, i got it

1. You need to copy the update.zip file

2. Paste it in the /sdcard folder

3. Reboot your system using the method showed in the vid

4. Click the update sentence in the boot menu

5. now it should start installing in no time :P
