These horses are NOT beaten w/ the whips! OMG they are TAPPED it lets them know what move is expected. It is a CUE nothing more. So those of you thinking these animals are afrais or abused, rest assured, they are not.

Great video but that horse that they have up against the wall looks terrified at 0:34 looks terrified to me and it looks horrible the way they're using the whips to make them jump. I know that whips are used as aids in horse riding and generally aren't used to harm the horse but they are yanking down on that horses mouth and then smacking it's back legs with the whip to make it flick them out. I know it's not the video makers fault but those horses don't look happy to me.

in response to simply4u2know the whip in used with horses to emphasis a request of the riders leg in most instances. It is not painful to get tapped by a whip especially if the horse is suppose to respond to a leg aid. I saw the people handling the horses on the ground lightly tap a leg which I assume is a cue for the horse to move that leg but I doubt these horses have been beaten by the whips.

Great video. Everyone get off his back. The name of this school is the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre in Jerez, Spain. It was established by King Juan Carlos about 30+/- years ago. No these are not Lipizzaners, they are Iberian Warmbloods which include PRE or Andalusians. These horses were used, along with other breeds, as foundation horses for the Lipizzaners. Finally understand the poor man was just trying to put together a fun video and say thank you!

@Katinkamelanie They don't actually hit them, they just tap them, it's not hard. Horses have really thick skin, so it won't hurt them. The horses looked happy here, they enjoyed what they did. :)

@Katinkamelanie I'm around horses a lot. These horses had good coats, bright eyes and were well fed. Not mistreated in any way. Their ears being leaned back doesn't mean they're unhappy, it shows they are listening to their trainers, it shows trust.

@GoatBlaat the horses have there full attention toward the rider. horses with there ears forward (looking around) are distracted. the only time you should be really concerned if the horses ears are tight. (pinned or inward or stuck forward)

Of all forms, they do not look like riders of the Royal Andalusian School.
