as a singer-songwriter, i enjoyed it a lot, especially the melody of the 3rd line of every verse!

however, as constructive criticism, i think it would have been more interesting if at least one of the verses (While I await....Goodbye my friend) was a different melody. kind of like a bridge you know? I can def hear a potential climax there. just because it's a sad mournful song doesn't mean it has to keep one energy level throughout :) i wrote a song about the same topic too..
