@cindyshealed You mean 'The Trip' ~ that CD has a purple back cover and contains this track. It is great compilation album which it says "emphasises Donovan's pyschedelic leanings", although I think of it as ethereal folk of the highest order.
@cindyshealed Thanks. I seem to own a non existent Donovan album according to Wikipedia. "The Trip ~ (EMI CDP7958322)" named after the song, was released in 1991. It's an album I play alot. Looks like I will have to go in and update Wiki.
People used to listen to some pretty crazy stuff back when the world was black and white. Trippy tune! Would go nice with the last track on QOTSA's Lullabies to Paralyze.
Gee!! I haven't heard this song in years and years. Hearing this now just put me straight back to my childhood, when I was sitting in my room listening to Donavan and Tim Hardin.
This is a far superior than another song about Guinevere having green eyes...that was recorded by a group at that time. I think the group was Crosby, Stills and Croft...
gordo I know you're just having people on...anyway Donovan is pretty cool yeah I agree, but the song entitled Guinnevere sung by CSN, mostly by DCrosby is more beautiful and touching.
Hey, ...quit already. They're both fine songs. Have a listen in high fidelity to both of them in their original recordings and then come back with your fine, erudite critique.
@durgaaa man...did you read what i wrote? i said i really like both songs but i like CSN's version better...it's only a matter of opinion...i didn't say one was better than the other...just that i liked one better...
@xDxRabbitx there are some who are doing things of similar magnitude at the same age he was here. the unfortunate part is that society and the music business doesn't encourage music of this caliber anymore. its all money sex money sex.. :(
Shawn Philips plays what insturment there? ial never seen one of these before.

I love this song, but my favourite song about Guinevere will forever be "Guinnevere" by CSN
Laety 2 years ago
A rare artifact indeed---the orchestral arranger got a little big for his britches but it's an interesting version nevertheless
