  • Great review! You're intelligent, articulate, and funny while covering the car in and out, and even under. It looks like a good car, and from what I've been reading and hearing I'm considering it over the Sonata.

  • ya a 1/5 stake is owned by vw

  • Vw does not own suzuki, just a small stake. X.x kindda like a partnership. I love this car, and the new jetta

  • sorry, but that dude is effing hot!!

  • what the fk is that a suzuki

  • @jvjobi

using the same argument, why do some american things have japanese or european names?

  • @jvjobi

just like all the latest american cars trying to imitate japanese:

gmc acadia, buick la crosse (replica of lexus es 350), buick enclave (imitation design of lexus/infiniti)...the new ford taurus looks like an infiniti fx from 2003. Even the new BMW 5 series (2011) has the rear lights of infiniti G35...german/american cars seem to be going japanese.

  • beautiful car, suzuki rules

  • Suzuki announced that its new 2010 Suzuki Kizashi, the companys first entry into the all-wheel-drive sedan segment, earned THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE RATING by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) crash tests. The 2010 Kizashi was awarded a 5-star rating in both the frontal and side-impact crash tests for ALL seating positions.

  • Test drove it..pretty good pep. Suzuki sure is an upcoming brand. Under dog really..Hyundai is doing well too.

This car is quite comfortable and the "stuff" you get is pretty cool for the price.

  • @jvjobi How is it a VW? this was made before VW bought stakes in Suzuki..

  • So is this car any good now that it's been out for a month? The bad thing about Suzuki is that you have to go out of your way to find a dealer. I looked up a dealer on their site and it turned out they were closed last year... the other closest one is an hour away.

  • Most reviews are positive, but they are still just opinions. To know forsure you should test drive it yourself. I did and I like the manual best. As far as going way out of your way to find a dealer, it just depends where you live. I have 3 Suzuki dealers within 15 miles of me. Many of the dealers that closed during the downturn were multi-brand dealers that were already in trouble. With Kizashi here now and Swift on it's way, that gives them 5 different vehicles, so more dealers will pop up.

  • Yea I have a manual but it's for the weekend. I want the cvt and the convenience of paddle shifters for this sedan. I heard they're restrictive though on the amount of RPM you can go up to.

  • Yes the cvt is very restrictive of the RPM's, it makes it a bit too tame for my driving habits, with the limiter set at about 5000 rpm's. If you're intending Kizashi for more of a relaxed/leisure drive, then the CVT might work out well for you. The problem is not the engine, it's just the CVT in this car is biased towards economy rather than performance. A 260hp V6 Kizashi is coming though, with a 6-spd Automatic (not cvt) for ppl that want perfomance but with an auto trans.

  • "The Kizashi is easily the most athletic car in its class, and even a few rungs up. How do we know? We tested the Kizashi on Virginia International Raceway against competitors like the Mazda Mazda6, Nissan Altima, and Subaru Legacy, and even some cars a few classes up like the Volkswagen Passat CC, Acura TSX and Audi A4. Suzuki engineers worked closely with KYB to desing a suspension unique to the Kizashi, and they simply nailed it". -- Leftlane News --

  • stopped by Toyota Hilo Hawaii (suzuki and toyota are sold in the same place) and it looks great in person, forgot to test drive lol!!!

  • This suzuki vehicle greatly surprised me!

  • Hey look, even suzuki can build a car better than anything GM, Ford or chrysler can build. Amazing

  • @tootsiejoon "even suzuki"? whats that supposed to mean?? they make great cars! Too bad US dosent get all of suzukis cars though, like the swift.

  • @tootsiejoon EXACTLY!!!!!!

  • Hey, right here! I'm the douchebag you're referring to.

Sorry to bum you out with my on-camera performance and appearance. Look for a revised "cunchoich" edition of this video coming soon. I'll sport a top hat and tails. Maybe a monocle, assuming you approve.

  • wonders why suzuki dosn't bring this car to the UK!!

  • Interior reminds of a high end VW....

  • is ther gona be RWD sports car from them ???

  • Not bad at all, although I'm not too thrilled with the styling. Looks a bit like a Mercury Milan crossed with a Jetta. The overall package should be decent, though. Kind of like a bargain Acura TSX, but the previous generation, not the present turd.

  • I call VIP! Let the VIP guys get ahold of it and make it gangsta!

  • I think I'm going to pick this over a Kia Forte for my next car.

  • Yes agreed, VW's are good cars, and good feel overall. When Suzuki set out to design the Kizashi, the Passat was one of the benchmarks. So this will give VW buyers too a more affordable option to a Jetta or Passat at a better price, a better warranty, and better reliability and cost of ownership.

  • Simple answer is no. The car is an all Suzuki design. Many cars today now look similar, specially newer models. The engine is a Suzuki engine also not a chevy and the doors are not toyota.

  • What'd be better to buy, a suzuki sx4 sportback or this car...?

  • Well those are very different cars. Kinda depends on your lifestyle. If you are more active and outdoors type, I'd say go with an SX4 hatch AWD. But if your more of a city driver that wants a sleek handling sedan with European level handling and a luxury feel then I'd say Kizashi is worth waiting for. Just a few months from now also you will be able to buy a 2010 version of SX4 which has New Transmition, New Engine, improved awd, more power, better mpg's. So it's about what's important to you.

  • The suzuki SX4 sportback IS the car you're mentioning (and I mentioned sportback before too).

But I've heard it probably won't come to belgium, so I've been saving money for nothing....

And I'm not going to save for a kizashi. The Suzuki dealer siad I'd better go for an used BMW then. Not sure why she'd say such a thing though.

  • Do you know if the manual can be AWD? I was seeing other places where they said AWD would only be on the CV trany.

  • The car will come stock with a 6spd manual. However that is FWD. The AWD version will be automatic only to start out with. But keep in mind that consumer demand is what caused Suzuki to finally offer their SX4 in AWD with a manual transmition. I'm sure if there is enough demand they will produce an AWD version with a manual transmition.

  • Amazing how Suzuki turned things around from early 00' dreadful models.

  • I'm not a big fan of saloon/sedan cars but it looks nice.

  • wow, impressed by the styling, i wonder if its going to be a light car, if it is a v6 AWD would be a nice performance car :)

  • huh? wtf, It doesn't look like a Jetta.

  • 期待を裏切ったな・・

  • hows the dick room??

  • as crude as you were. You bring up a good point. When driving a car I hope I can open my legs enough to be comfortable. A lot of small cars I dont get that. Which ends up being my biggest complaint about a smaller car.

  • You should be happy in Kizashi then. It is WIDER than most others in its catagory, rather than being narrow and long like so many are going now. What used to be considered "MID" sized sedans are now large sedans. Suzuki went with wider instead of longer when designing the Kizashi.

  • Nope. I adjusted the front seat to where I'm comfortable then sat in the back. It's no 7-series but comfortable for a mid-size.

  • Not sure. I'm 5'10" but headroom is often an issue. Maybe I just have a huge head.

  • 4 cyl? by the looks of it i could of sworn it was a 6

  • V-6 will be coming down the road, but for the car launch it made more sense to offer it with a high output 4 cylinder, keeps production cost down as well as making it most affordable. Shortly after initial launch a hybrid will be following, and then after the hybrid will be the V-6 version.

  • Wow...Suzuki you did right this time, great looking car.

  • about time too

  • omg.. plz bring it to canada!! with AWD?.. awwsome!

  • Yes it's going to Canada and with AWD, so contact your local Suzuki dealer, they might actually have one in at this point. The only drawback for the Canadian version is that it will only be available as an auto. No manual for Canada.

  • GSX-R!

  • Most people that test drove Kizashi comment that while they were driving it they completely forgot it was a 4-cylinder, becuase of how responsive and smooth it was. That being said, Suzuki IS going to bring a V6 powered model after initial introduction.

"After driving it fairly hard on some very nice hilly country and curing roads in North Carolina and Virginia, at a driver change stop, I said, Wow, I just remembered this is a 4 cylinder car it was damn near perfect. -TheAutoChannel -

  • i never thought i would achually like a suzuki.

  • i know right, its pretty cool.

  • maybe u can mod it to be a lil faster.

  • Actually you are right. Suzuki is working with Road Race Motor Sports. Road Race has already developed a performance kit for this car, and they are in the final stages right now of producing it for sale to the public. Suzuki is arranging to have it be available thru Suzuki dealerships as an add-on peformance enhancement.

  • i hope it helps zuki too. it looks like a cool car.

  • no.

  • The exterior looks of Kizashi are dramtically different than Mazda 6, and the interior design of each car is also very different. The only thing they share in common are similar design specs, such as engine size, dimensions. So I would have to say no, it's not a mazda wannabee. Kizashi will also come in AWD as well as hybrid versions. Again major differences than Mazda 6.

  • Hope it helps Suzuki. It's nice looking, but I think their main concern is how to market it..

  • Yeah that has been Suzuki's biggest weakness, they've never really got a grip on marketing. I think finally they are getting that point. They just dumped their marketing firm in Japan and hired one in California instead LOL!

  • looks like a jetta

  • Handsome car but is there something wrong with the audio? Not in stereo?

  • more hp and torque plox.

  • I didn't know they were competing...

  • You are right, Kizashi is not even aimed at impreza/evo, those are a different catagory. Kizashi is more aimed at passat / TSX.
