  • you know....i could give a fuck less about fraps...maybe you should show us the gameplay...

  • @SATANECRONOMICUS Well then dont watch it

  • I'm not trolling or being an ass or anything, but I believe the fast loading isn't due to just the raid. Cause my 1tb caviar black is just as fast XD. Although your boot time and all that would rape mine >>

  • i have an MSI gtx560 twin frozr :)

  • how do you enable crossfire

  • @kingwolfo5 If you have both of the cards in your board and have them connected via the Crossfire connecter, then crossfire should always be enabled unless there is a program that has the option for it to utilize only one GPU or both. I mean, to my knowledge, of course.

  • GTX 480 max settings at 1920x1080 is beast!

  • can you imagine if games actually developed, instead of being held back by consoles. We wouldn't be talking about crysis nowadays, every game would look just as good, and the exceptional ones would look better.

  • your pc is very noise

  • @21MX132 radeon hd 4890s are like hairdryers

  • you looks always to the ground man thats why u got huge fps make a video with the benchmark of crysis ;)

  • my single 5770 card gets 60 average on high settings, might be worth it investing in something better

  • Hi im new to pc gaming. Ill building a rig for games such as basically any source powered games such as half life 2, teamfortress2 and counter strike. will this be fine and any suggestions?

    Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5

AMD Phemnon x4 955 quad core procsessor @3.2GHz

COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus 700W ATX 12V PSu

GIGABYTE AM3 AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX Motherboard

    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3

    Seagate Barracuda 750gb

how does this look for $717 USD?

  • are your graphics cards overclocked

  • r ur 4890s overclocked i cant get my xfx 4890 past 890mhz core with 1.350v

  • Why is you game running so badly? i use to play this game on very high on all settings @1920x1080p with a 4890 and a 4870 in crossfire mode and a phenom II X4 920 on windos vista 32 with 4 gigs ddr2 ram and a 850wat psu and it ran better than this. But the cpu went due to me taking it out and accedindtally bending the pins.

  • @makeme708 So now i'll be getting the alienware alx with liquid cooled cpu and gpu, with 5770's in crossfire.

    Can't wait.

  • lol average u get 30 fps, not 50... u recorded in the easiest part, where u get most fps, inside battle there u get 20-30 fps, thats ur average , ur min its like 15-20, and max 60

dont use 8xAA disable it and u get more...

    nice vid

  • i get that performace with 1 4890 XXX edition on 8 x AA same settings lol...

  • man...was the temp of ur cards?....sound like ur "plane" is about to take off XD

  • With an i7 @3.5ghz and 6GB RAM, and when I have this card very soon. I'll should get about .... What sort of average FPS on Max? Would it be around the same as yours or up to 70-80 or more?

  • nice cards. ^_^

  • Dude what frames u getting ? on max?

  • wow

  • I think one HD4890 for 1680x1050 would be enough....You could play with a 30" Monitor..

  • Wow... recorded with a camera while you have FRAPS running. This is a horrible video.

  • omg i want to see graphics not fps

  • Does crossfire require 2 monitors for gpus to work together

  • @ja195 nope just one

  • i just ordered a beast of a computer i have 2 raedon 5870 and some very good specs

  • @dofferrr Which you don't need at all. Nice waste of money.

  • Would a amd athlon x2 4200+ oc bottleneck an ati radeon hd 5750?.

  • I pretty get the same FPS as you.

    i7 920- 4ghz

    1690MHZ ddr3 patriot ram

    x58m MSI

    5870 975/1300

    320gb WD caviar blue

  • I don't buy it. I think maybe he switch the configs for medium or high. It's easy to do, and even though it says v.high it's got the settings for medium.

I have an XFX HD 4890 in mine and i can run at 1050 x 1680 with no AA at 30 FPS on HIGH, not V.HIGH crysis's shadows are too complex for this card.

  • @beefdog88 how does ur 4890 s not cause flicker or studder like my 4890 xfire?? I am so disapointed on how mine run. o get it smooth i have to turn vsync off, other wise its really chopy as if 15 fps but fraps shows 50

  • 0:43

  • @alampandatennisrack Check your Vsync. I had this problem with crossfire. Turn vsync off if you are not running above 60 FPS.

  • You're good frame rate has more to do with the 1680x1050 resolution than 2x 4890s. One 4890 will run that, check out Tom's hardware on crysis results that show crysis doesn't scale crossfire ATI cards. Anyway I have a 4890 crossfire system and love it, but for everyone else out there, even one 4890 is a really powerful card and on 1680x1050 it will run max settings liquid smooth.

  • can i get those results with 2 5850's?

  • @darthvadermasterchie lol...of course ...the 5850 is a better card than 4890

  • So you get like 50 FPS Average...

I get 20FPS Average...and my setup is worse than that. Does that mean my PC is doing alright? My system is stuck in the old age, Its only a Socket 939 system.

    I got a --

    AMD AThlon 64 X2 3600+ @ 2.3 OCed

    4gb DDR400 SuperTALENT

    500W Antec PSU

    MSI Platinum Neo4/SLi

    1x Ati XFX 5750 1gb GDDR5

    1x 160gb IDE @7200 RPM

  • yeah yours does good for a 939.

  • thats because your processor is a huge bottleneck on your graphics card. Even though you have a single graphics card, you need a far more powerful processor or one heck of an overclock to overcome that bottleneck.

A new mobo + processor + ram shouldnt run you more than ~250 bucks USD.

  • hehe...Oh I knows this...

Im looking at a phenom ii x4 955, 4gb DDR3, Asus EVO 790x...May also in the future go with a crossfire on my 5750

  • is it possible for me to run 2 radeons hd 4870 with my Codegen 500W?

    i have a amd phenom II X3 with 2gb DDR3

    1 Harddrive 1 DVD-R

  • lool? do you got both fans on 100% of them video cards or why itz that loud?! :DD

  • new intro PLEASE -_-

infact if u want ill make u one on ater effects.

  • Would a 750w PSU be enough for 2xradeon 5750. ??

I tried to use it on 2x radeon 2900 xt, but it seemed to be too low for those cards.

  • brand? If its a decent one itll power those pretty easily

  • @beefdog88 @beefdog88 Brand is "Advance"

  • It probably could but i wouldent trust that brand. I would say see if you can get a reputable brand like corsair, ocz or antec .

  • @beefdog88 Thx for the answer. I ask because I'm on a budget, and saving some money here and there makes it a lot easier to build a better machine. :)

  • @beefdog88 Disregard my question.

I came home from work one day, and the 750W power was fried. Now I run my machine on an old 400 W FSP Group (Fortron) But it's still only one 2900. I put the other one in my sons machine.

Oh, and I try to remember to turn off my machine when leaving for some hours. :)

  • definitly yes, one card only needs 109 Watt

  • sorry even 86 W

  • Oh haha well, I actually just sold it today. I plan on crossfireing 2 4890 in due time. See the thing is though I've tried OC my cpu to 2.83ghz but when I do, it ends up giving me the BSOD. idk what im doing wrong.

  • I know a fairshare about computesr but thought i'd ask just to see if this would work

i'm planning on getting a 4890 and selling my gtx 260

    system:

    AMD Phenom II x4 2.53ghz

    Kingston HyperX 4x2GB 1066 5-5-5-12

    700w PSU

    500GB 7200rpm 32mb cache

    Corsair H50 liquid cooling

would it be able to run with the 4890 (not sure about how much power it needs) and run crysis?

  • @wolfstg44

With your CPU left at stock 2.5GHz you won't notice an increase in performance by just getting a higher performing video card.

Try overclocking your CPU to 3.5GHz and see if you gain more performance just with your GTX 260.

PS: The HD 4890 consumes about the same energy as a GTX 260.

  • yea but 4890 outperforms gtx 260 :P

wait what model phenom ii x4 u have? O.o i havent seen one with that low of a clock speed.

anyways, i doubt u would have a bottleneck with only one gtx 260, but if u are thinking about crossfiring two 4890, then for sure, u will need a faster cpu.

and about the PSU, if that is a dependable brand like antec or corsair then it should be good. i'd go with antec tho. my 650 watt earthpower works like a charm ;]

  • He has an AMD Phenom II X4 905e, it's stock 2.5GHz...

And yes, I'm sure it that it's currently bottle-necking that GTX 260.

OC'ing it to around 3.5GHz will give a good 5-10fps boost which is a lot for Crysis..

If he still isn't satisfied with his performance at 3.5GHz than it would be worth getting a better GPU.

I recommend an HD 5850 if he has the $300..or wait in a couple months for it to be $250..

  • @wolfstg44

You need overclock cpu and use 800w PSU :)

  • hey guys i need help! im just a noobie in xfire..

i have hd4870 and i want to crossfire it with 4890.. will my PSU be able to handle it? here are my specs.

    Gigabyte Odin Pro 800watt PSU

    AMD Phenom II X4 940 3Ghz

    ATI Radeon HD4870 1gig GDDR5

    Kingston 8gig ddr2 800 memory

Western Digital 1TB Caviar Green HDD

    Aerocool V12xt

    8 120mm Coolermaster Sickleflow fans.

PLEASE HELP ME. I NEED SOME ADVISE

  • @iskrukutum21 u cant crossfire 2 different cards m8, they gta be exactly the same, so ur gna need to get the same 4870 u have, same brand as ur and then u can crossfire it, and yes 800w is more than enuf m8 :)

  • you can crossfire 2 diffrent cards actually!!! you can crossfire a 5850 with a 5870 and you can crossfire a 4870 with a 4850x2...

    game.amd,com/us-en/content/images/crossfirex/CF_combo_chart.jpg

  • @steevyp o ok then :) i stand corrected :D

  • @steevyp so u saying i can even crossfire a XFX 4890 with a sapphire 4890 even if the sapphire has higher clocks then xfx

  • yeah i think so

  • They have to have the same clocks as each other

  • @MrAionlover You can do a hybrid crossfire just the frequencies have to be the same

  • They dont need to be the same brand to crossfire and you can crossfire 2 different cards as long as you have a hybrid crossfire motherboard

  • your good

  • 1000 fps... waste of power?...

  • I have a AMD Phenom II x4 940 at 3.5ghz

    2x HD 4890's Crossfire x

    8gb 1066mhz ddr2 ram.

When i play this game at 1680x1050 all maxed out i get around 20FPS i just dont get it i take all the settings down a notch to HIGH and i get around 25-35FPS and now heres the best part i Disable crossfire and all maxed out at Very high i get around 35-60fps with one card. from how i see it my other 4890 just sits there and collects dust. any help with this problem would be greatly appreaciated :)

  • what is your motherboard? and try to take out the secondary card and use it as the primary pcie slot and see if you get same fps, if not, you know its a bad card.

  • @xXxEmbrac3xXx yea i get the same fps. and i have a new problem now. on the last level of crysis the reckoning i get to the part were i need to destroy the exosit or what i allways BSOD with 1 card or both. and i have tried rasing the fans speed. i get the BSOD error System Service Exception. and i have a Biostar TA790gx 128m.

  • Dang man that sounds pretty serious, I say reinstall game (keep saved games). That should fix BSOD. Are you running Vista? Im assuming so, since I've been using 7 for like 5 months and have never had a BSOD. Also download driver sweeper or whatever, and uninstall all ati drivers. Then reinstall them with the newest drivers on the ATI website. Damn bro idk what to tell you outside of that really. Let me know how that works though.

  • @xXxEmbrac3xXx Okay ill try it out and im using Windows 7 Home premium 64bit btw.

  • okay let me know how it works. Shouldn't be a windows 7 issue. thats very strange. Is your processor overclocked? You could be getting bsod because its unstable.

  • @xXxEmbrac3xXx yea it is over clocked but its been running fine eversince July 09. when i first over clocked it from 3.0ghz stock its an AMD Phenom II x4 940 at 3.5ghz currently i might try to clock it back down to stock speeds .

  • on your board when its in crossfire is it running at 8x 8x or 16x 16x your on amd so theres few motherboards that can get 16x 16x on both pcie lanes

  • it takes two HD 5970's to get up to the 16x barrier. That is 6400 Stream Processors. I don't think to loley 'ol hd 4890 have to worry about 16x pcie lains. (they only have to worry about x6 pcie)

  • Check your version of crysis. Vanilla version doesn't have multi GPU support.

I have a phenom II 940 at 3.6Ghz, and one hd 4890 and i get 34-40 Vhigh with 4x AA. I let Cataylist handle AA though.

  • sure but

    1600x900

  • i have phenom II 920 2,8 ghz

    2x4890 ultraclocked

    8 gb ddr 2 800

    same settings + resulotion

    65-70 fps

  • At this rez? I think not

  • ok, his cpu is great cause i have the same cpu and crysis uses only about 30% at stock. People who say to upgrade your cpu know nothing about pc gaming. crysis gets nearly 80% of its performance through the gpu.

  • Yes very well said! I myself will also be playing flight simulator x which is the exact opposite getting most of it's performance through the cpu so I will be overclocking my i7 920 to 3.8 but yes you are correct this game relies on heavy graphics and the 4890's are great on this!

  • how did you made your intro?

  • Cause FRAPS will most likely Screw his performance up.

    Thus making video useless.

  • Are there any bottlenecks in that setup? If so, are they minor or major?

  • nice music man :P

    kick ass game!

  • Mad specs lol :D

  • Why not shoot video FRAPS?

Detail graphics you have not seen in a video shoot ...

  • Awesome dude :O

  • is a 4890 faster then a GTX 275

  • yes

  • good know i am 100% getting a 4890 XFX

  • a hd 5850 is better?

  • anti-aliasing does nothing in this game but kill fps.

  • AHAHAAHHAAH... i haven't heard such a noob statement from anyone for like years:p. If you have ever had nVidia graphix ud notice that in the driver profile you get to see the difference between high quality settings balanced settings and high performance; in which the anti aliasing is also turned on and off respectively. So mate if you can't see a difference in that simple animation indicator you are blind:p and i duno maybe stupid.

  • wow, you're stupid.

Google "tweak guides: Crysis" and read the FACTS you MORON.

About this specific game and AA, you ignoramus.

  • unless you have it on low res . theres no point in having aa on if your running in high res

  • there is no point to aa in crysis.

  • Ru nuts AA sux the highest resource then comes Resolution dude get a life duh

  • idiot

  • vsync not maxed O.o

  • what do u mean maxed:S it can be either turned off or on.

  • Mine sucks!!! Can someone please help me im getting 18fps avg on farcry 2 my specs.....

    E7300 Dual Core @2.66Ghz

    4gb ddr2 ram

    xfx HD4890 1GB

    550watt PSU

    Please Help!!!!!!

  • Have you updated VGA driver and DirectX ?

  • Your processor is not fast enough and is lagging your system get a new cpu like a core 2 duo or a core 2 quad or i5 or i7 then you will get 60+

  • It is a core 2 duo dual core at 2.66ghz

  • Lol I know all I asked was how much is the usage of the cpu during gameplay.

  • IDK how to check cpu usage while in a game

  • do you know how to overclock?

  • Not a core 2 duo it still will bottelneck the card

  • your processor is not powerful enough

  • what is a suitable processor then ?

  • very loud

  • He could easily not drop below 50 (except for intense battles) if he'd just put 4x AA with no noticeable quality loss.

  • 2 4890s beats a GTx 285 easy

  • beats a 295, oh wait....

  • hay dumb ass 9800gt 512mb gddr3

    2 4890 1gb gddr5 and u say 9800gt is better ur stpuid

  • @multimodder he dont get 50FPS with 9800GT i have a frined that has the highes 9800GT u can get u cant even get close to 50FPS even on low

  • imagine the hd 4890 vapor x 2gb crossfire

  • @srquiros

2gb is a waste of space on this gpu

  • i always hated how crysis has a stupid menu for weapon upgrades...with no animations...

something as stupid and basic as counter strike has an animation for screwing on a silencer...

just something that irritated the shit out of me about this game.

nice setup however...a bit loud tho.

  • I like the sound's from the GPU's!

I hate stock cooling! Too much noisy!

  • My ASUS ATI Radeon HD5870@1050MHz Core/5600Mhz VRAM DDR5, ALREADY IS RAPING your nVIDIA 2xGTX280's.

  • my x1950 will shit on your hd 5870! jk it wont

  • My HIS turbo+ hd 4890's in crossfire would rape your 2 gtx 280s.

  • my 2x gtx 280's does way better :P

  • But they cost much more.

  • @Eclipezz yeah. but twice the money. :-)

  • my 2x HD4870's toxic edition will rape your nVidia ass

  • Sorry but two gtx 280's are better than two 4870's.

  • sorry but gtx 280s are like twice the price go ati

  • Your pc is fking loud 0.o

  • you should still use this motherboard.... even though its old, you seem to be running the game 15 fps more than a ddr3 board

  • Nice vid ^^

Question : wich PSU do use for ur setup ?

    U think 750W is enough for a crossfire setup ( 2x HD5850) ? (corsair HX750)

  • Is 1680x1050 the highest res you can play on or something?? Cause I have a 25.5 inch HP monitor with just one XFX 4890 and thats the highest res it will let me pick. I get my second 4890 this week for crossfire, so will that allow me to play at a higher resolution?? Or do I just need a patch??

  • I just have a 22 inch monitor and thats the highest rez on my monitor

  • Alright cool man!! Just another question or two from you... Im running Windows 7 RC 7100 right now, but Im getting the retail version for Christmas, do you think my performance will gain when I install the real version?? Also, do you see a better gain in Crysis with a crossfire setup as opposed to a single 4890?

  • U wont get a gain just by having the full version of 7 but you will get a good boost from another 4890

  • Yeah, I just think I'll have better support with drivers and whatever with the retail version!! Can't wait to get my second card. The 4890 I have now is made by XFX and the second one I have coming is by ASUS. That should work ok wont it?

  • yeah itll be fine

  • they run the best from this old mobo. lol

  • nice frames avg. 45-48. got a gigabyte 4890 with zalman cooler 960/1000 getting around 45fps in warhead at 1360x768 6gb 1066 on an q6700

  • u dont need 2 GPU to play crysis 1 !!! i have the 4870 dual sonic editon, and it runs it perfectly! btw... not every motherboard run the 2 GPU at the same time, and sometimes it doesnt even use the second one, u gotta be carefull

  • Scream by avenged sevenfold

  • What is better an HD 4890 or a GTX260

  • a HD4890 would be better

  • So a 4890 will be a good upgrade from a 9800gt then

  • yes most certainly, make sure you have a good Power Supply and x2 6-Pin Connectors on it too

  • Yeah I got it and its awsome

  • what driver version of hd4890 have you got here ?

  • Eh its a really early one, i cant remember

  • you know what driver is good for crossfire hd4890 ?? i download 9.10 but i don't know its good or bad..

sorry for my bad English))) Subscribe to my GamePlay videos :DD

  • Get the latest one, its more than likely the best one

  • artifacts @ 7:11 ?

  • it was a video bug

  • what is the fps thing in the corner called?

  • fraps

  • does crysis have 16x AA?

  • Maximum Power

  • AA suck

  • min 35 FPS

    MAX FPS 100 :o

    very nice card :)

  • cards

  • i get about 5 fps less with my 940 at 3.4 and my 4870x2

  • thats becurse your graphicscard is worser?

  • All the Phenom II processors overclock like beasts, and yeah the 285 is better than the 4890 but its also like $100 bucks more, you could get 2 4890s in crossfire for only $100 more than 1 285

  • ily a7x

  • i rly should go for a 4890 crossfire setup... i feel bad fat buying the 285. theyre the same price and its like 2x better. also more power efficient. yea imma buy a i5 system and itll be so great. xD

btw can u swap hds? i hav vista on it.

  • i wouldnt go for I5, if you're choosing ATI, go with AMD, because it will be optimised, i would go with a AMD Phenom II x4 955.

  • wats the speed and cache? n how much is it:?

  • for the BE -2MB l2 Cache, 8MB L3 Cache

    3.2GHz Stock - £150

or even better, what im thinking of getting £160 - AMD Phenom II x4 965

    2MB l2 Cache, 8MB L3 Cache

    3.4GHz

im not sure whether to get my I7 920 or AMD P II x4 965

  • ok whats the price in CAD?

and how much can u OC it to?

  • AMD Phenom II X4 965 > Core i7 in a couple of CPU benchmarks and some games. If you compare system prices, the AMD system will be cheaper and the i7 will perform slightly better *sometimes*

  • 4890 is crap compared to a 285 plus you wont have physX or cuda.

  • which both arent necessary for strong cpus!

it might give you something when you have a 285 and a p4@ 3ghz
