  • This song takes me right back to the summer of 1974!

  • There are no words to describe this song. That it should have been sent on the Voyager!

  • The guitar work on this song is tremendous!

  • After countless listens, countless years, listening over and over and over to his life's work, this song has ended up becoming my favourite. A timeless classic. Well, this and Levon, they never, ever get tiring to listen to.

  • Not a bad song on the entire album!!!!

    Love it...

  • This is one of my all time favorites from my all time favorite album.

  • like the rags that belong to you i belong to myself---something the ex never understood!!!!! though my favorite album is captain fantastic this album makes me think of mushrooms and acid---hey it WAS the 70's!!!!

  • this track and seen that movie too....best tracks on the album

  • He says he gonna put buckshot in her pants probaly hit her in the ass with the spread of a 12 gauge with rock salt. If that happens it will be very hard for her to turn a trick with the pain in her back and ass that buckshot will hurt you very hard. I quess she or whoever gets hit will be subjected to giving blow jobs. since her ass hurts like a sun of a bitch.

  • @frank02111

Dude, Why you gotta go down that nasty road?

  • You are right .i do not even rember writing that awful; senerio. i was in what is known in AA as a black out. I live in Boston"s theatre districkt yet you see alot of hookers walking around. Some are nice and some will steal everything in your apartment that isn"t nailed down.I really need to stay sober from now on. Sorry about that .

  • @frank02111 LMFAO!!!

  • The whole band is firing on all cylinders on this LP. Just listen to the guitar and bass play off each other in this song, with the organ grinder piano going off at the same time. Then add in the sublime lyric and Elton's voice and you get magic. I'm so glad I came of age when this stuff was coming out.

  • きっと、あんたのバラードのモチーフになった曲だろう!!

  • @sunogiisan 영어써 족같은 쪽빠리야

  • Only elton john could sing this.

  • el mejor albun de elton sin duda desde youtube...la honorable sociedad

  • Absolutely a phenominal album. This is one of my favorite tunes on it.

  • Why is this song listed as a bonus track??? It's on the record.

  • this mans voice is crazy AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • This was not a bonus track.

  • Some of the most inventive, original guitar work ever recorded. Reminds me of Mick Ronson.

  • @olbucknarley Davey Johnstone at his best!

  • Some of the most inventive, original guitar work ever recorded.

  • Big Ups to the 1278 other folks who have shared this on FB, as have I. Elton is a GOD!

  • i want 2 2 marry alice

  • fantastic guitar on this one. it's outstanding!

  • sooooooooooo awesome. no one album should have sooooooooooooo many perfect cuts. and every track is essential.

  • someone grab that bitch by the ears!

['cause] you have to clean the oyster to find the pearl -

    Naughty lyrics, those

  • @SupernalOne But we love it ;)

  • @IronCladLady81

Do tell -- hmm, think I've been living with a good girl too long :)

  • THIS SONG IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • .... How'd ya do ? How'd ya do ? It took me a while to figure out those lyrics !!!

  • I have this album and know all his songs by heart.

  • I was 12 when I got this album. I also had the 8-track that I listened to on my electric blue Panasonic Dynomite 8 Track Tape Player, lol. HOURS I listened to this... It's so good to come on here (I'm a newbie) and see all these great comments. Love it and most of you!

  • This song is nostalgic, cause I've had a few "dirty little girls" and they were all fun.

  • I was a sophomore in high school when this album came out. My Mom would have had a heart attack if she heard some of these lyrics and songs "All the Young Girls Love Alice"!!!! I never would have gotten the albums for Christmas that's for sure. I still love them after all these years.

  • There's another version of this song here that has pictures to match the lyrics as it goes along.

  • Grew up listening to this guy!!! FANFRIGGINTASTIC!!!!!!

  • Grew up listening to this guy!!! Fanfriggintastic!!!

  • does anyone have a clue as to what instrument specifically makes that wonderful dirty piano sound used in this song? Is it a combination of Mellotron/Electric piano? Or just piano with effects? It sounds utterly amazing and I don't think any other song he did sounds quite like it.

  • @mrbollocks1979

The credits to "Dirty Little Girl" show Elton John as playing a Leslie piano and mellotron. That same sound struck me when Yellowbrick Road first came out!

  • @forbus56 Yeah I listened closely again and thats really all it is - Mellotron and Leslie piano, but its done in such a way that it sounds like a new type of instrument. Its just simply brilliant.. and this kind of swinging, sleazy, jerky rhythm I think Elton should have revisited again...and again because its brilliant! I never tire of it; This is my all-time second favourite EJ song behind Levon.

  • @mrbollocks1979 the piano is mic'd into a Leslie revolving speaker (like they have in Hammond Organs) and then presumably front-mic'd out of there into the desk

  • @77edster Thankyou for that, I was hoping for a VST plug-in (WISHFUL thinking hehe) to fool around with but that sound... I could listen to it forever, its just such an amazing sound he gets. Actually I get kind of close with Hammond/leslie, i have a program that does it but it would need tweaking so more work to do!

  • he is leaving the yellow brick road not stepping on to it!

  • Love the line, "Someone grab that bitch by the ears!" My favorite song off the album. It's so gritty and funky! Just makes ya want to lip sync it in a backwoods bar somewhere!!!!

  • @Hot4Hutch My fav too. I love the ending where he sings over himself and freestyles the "dirty" and "girl" stuff. A great outro. There's another version of this song on YouTube that illustrates the lyrics as it goes, btw, pretty cool shots.

  • IMO, one of the best arrangements in music, period. Thank you SO much for posting this song

  • Bought this double record with my own money when I was 6 from mowing my parents' yard in 1975. Probably the best money I ever spent in my whole life...

  • @coach777777 if you were six you were way too young to understand most of these songs

  • For you Myra.

  • This was a fun song from the album. I got a kick out of the lyrics! Arguably his best album?

  • @auggiedoggy yeah this or captain fantastic

  • @anagramish : Yes and I have both!

  • FAntastic the guitar line of rythm and the heavy smell of the melody ...Elton is the N-1

  • this song is so great i love it

  • So what the fuck happened to music? Can you imagine somebody who died in like 1978 getting resurrected today. She'd come back here and listen to this shit called music today and say, "Noooooooooooooo - somebody put an end to it! Send me back to the fucking earth!"

Another Elton CLASSIC that can't be duplicated.

  • @mygymchannel1 Well said, indeed! Back in the 70's, no-talents like Justin Bieber wouldn't even have been given an audition. Miss the good old days of the Stones, Beatles, and Elton!!!

  • FUCKING EPIC

  • just another Elton gem

  • greatttt lyrics one of my favorites

  • Why can't these songs be available for kareoke? Some of the best song writing ever.....I still listen to it every month.

  • @Kryshto

    I definitely agree....

  • I wore this song (and album) OUT in high school! Thank you Elton John for some of the greatest songs ever written...and thanks sydlivy for posting this.

  • Me too!!! but I wasn't quite in high school yet!!!! hahahahah!!!!!!

  • if mozart was alive today he would b Elton

  • what about the art work, not to mention, there wil never be music this good again

  • Sad to say but you're so right!

  • one of my faves from Yellow Brick Road :)

I think this could easily have been a hit single had it been given the chance.

  • Imagine, Elton wrote 21 tunes for this album, stuck in his hotel room in Jamaica, in TWO DAYS!! Touched by genius!!

  • @candelise ...I need to get some of what they were smoking.

  • Sir Elton Kick Ass!!! O.K have at it ,this comment go misinterpet it and twist away how ( goofballs always do) you hound dogs!

  • Good bye yellow brick road is one of my favorites Elton John did a fine job with this.

  • BlueRibbon--you are living proof that , even God can have an "off" day. Luckily, brain dead bigots like you are becoming scarce.
