I really dislike the interior of this, all hard plastic (nothing can be pulled apart, however).
back seat and far back aren't as comfortable as the front seats are, and besides some leather and cloth, there is nothing soft or non-fatiguing on the door panel.
the car has a smooth powerband, probably because of a lack of low-end torque (shifts at 3000-3500 under lightfooted driving) however it's fast on the top end, can win a shit load of races.
@hornetkiller4 Base price is $28K but it really depends in the area you live in. Go to Honda's website, search the Pilot, you may soon be asked to enter your zip, the You build the Pilot in the form you want. Trim levels, options & etc. And you'll get a more precise quote from there.
the pilot is alot better than the highlander...performance, quality, over all value. i had the choice of buying either 2008 model and I went with the honda pilot and i love it. it's such a powerful truck and the acceleration on it is a whole different world.
@Intechdude300 really? The highlander I found was much smother but some say less fun to drive. The new pilot is a disappointment when compared to its predecessor. The highlander is a much better vehicle. Consumer reports, KBB and edmunds found it quicker and better.
I havent driven the newest Pilot which I am disappointed in its looks tho I found its interior quite pleasant overall. I really enjoyed the 1 Gen Pilot over the 1st gen & 2nd gen Highlander. Driven both Highlander generations quite a bit.
I believe you have a 2WD LX model which means it comes with Cylinder Deactivation. Thats what the ECO light is there for, its telling you that the engine is only running on 3 cylinders to save fuel. I love the first generation Pilot, its a little bland but its very "old" honda in its design... simple. The new pilot just isn't as good as the original
YEah it was a 2wd. I did feel a difference when it came on Felt a split second lag when flooring it but hardly noticeable to most who would drive them and really won't effect acceleration when needed. And when letting off the gas I felt like the engine kinda disconnected a bit when the light came on ( the Cyl deact )
I love the sound if the VTEC when it kicks in at 4500 RPM.

@Intechdude300 The new piolit uses poor materials. The new highlander has a decently padded dash. The highlander is a very well rounded vehicle.

the eco light is when the cylinders shut off when your cruising

I love the way the 5spd handles itself. Driving a Honda 3.5 V6 5spd is definitely on my list of cars to drive.

what's that eco light that comes on at :52?

@Adam44516
I had no Idea. Before I started I was like WTF, I don't want whatever eco mode it may have to come on, I want power LOL...
Briefly looked all over and couldn't find anything. Either I missed it or it's just an eco mode that kicks on when u don't have a iron foot.
