What goes around comes around. Ondoy (the act of God) is just trying to impart and uncover that Local Govt. officials still remain good-for-nothing for not any has been enhanced and reformed except serving their own bellies, fattening their wallets and non-stop corruption.
I mainly pity the less fortunate. I have been expecting the local officials after Marcos regime that sooner or later they could provide bldgs that contain small units for the less fortunate ones >>> like the remarkable system of Japanese and Hong Kong Govt.
Really Sad, No Changes at all....
Its good Filipinos have amazing spirit, openhanded, resilient and compassionate by nature except the GREEDY local officials.
Tnx for posting. I used to live there and if you have gone forward a couple more houses, I would've seen my Mom's house. Good thing nobody lives there at the moment coz the flood reached the second floor. BTW, the street is general segundo and boy did it have its history of flooding which i kinda miss. Tnx again
The levee gave way because of both the rain and the storm surge. What happened was the surge flooded the lake and broke the levee in several places. I read a book on the subject and the water wall was over 20', possibly up to 25'
And I am in no way belittling the Manila rain flood. Simply the fact that people post 48 second video's and then add a comment like this, where it has no direct relevance to what happened in New Orleans.
Tell me about the storm surge in Manila and then it's relevant.
You're right. Katrina was not about the amount of rain that fell but the levee being broken that's why it had so much flooding. So you're right, no relation between the 2.
Very devestating flood in the Philippines but certainly, Katrina is way worst than this flood. There was a lot more chaos during Katrina because you have the very strong wind and high storm surge

Lives have been lost. Valuables and belongings were washed away and destroyed. Too much devastation. It's all too much...

I know it's bad news but come on

I thought the water from the Hurricane katrina came from the levee giving way not from the hurricane itself. this flood came directly from the sky
