The Dark Knight is a Classic but I'm thinking that the Dark Knight Rises will be a Masterpiece. Nolan is 1 of the best directors in the last 30 years,and I can't wait for "Man of Steel" too cause the Bryan singer version wasn't that good.
i am kinda sad that it will be the conclusion and i never got to see a riddler vs batman movie because he is such an interresting vilan. i am very glad though that they chose bane because the last bane vs batman movie was just so disapointing.
i honestly don't think bruce will succeed in saving gotham. Look at it from a realistic view. Look at how cruel and corrupted gotham is, and to let a vigilante try and save it is asking to much of him. The city cannot be saved but controlled. Bruce said from the get go (batman begins) that he wasnt going to sit back and watch gotham get taken over by criminals, so in a sense all he's doing is trying, trying to help, but isnt sure if he will succeed. It's not about winning or losing but trying.
I believe that batman begins and the dark knight are one big movie, because both of them are so rich in movie quality and caracter development that you get to see batman from every point of view posible... And the dark knight rises is not going to stay back at all, is going to deliver just enough so we can say: OK THATS ENOUGH BATMAN FOR ONE DECADE ... hehehe... just kidding... IT´S GOING TO BE FREAKING AWESOME !!!
i'd love to see, maybe at the end or after the credits, a nod to robin. i know that this tells the tale of batman's early days, but im not saying have him recruit shia lebouf at the end and them drop down from the buildings dramatically. i just want a nod. like on the news or a billboard saying "the flying graysons" or "tragedy at circus" just a lil nod. batman's tale, in my opinion, needs joker, two-face, catwoman, and robin. to me those are the essentials of the batman tale so to speak

My biggest concern for this movie is Anne Hathaway as catwoman, i see heras a character that im gonna hate,but other than that this film is going to be great, Christopher Nolan has never had a bad movie and with that cast it is impossible to fail , this is Nolan's biggest movie and also for the cast.And yeah i know how can you get bigger ? by bringing in a finale and an epic chaos of epic proportions.I see a domestic opening weekend of 200 million +
My only concern is with Nolan's leisurely pace. Dark Knight and Inception took advantage of this by telling much more intricate and detailed stories - but Begins had serious issues in this department.
If the script cannot support the way Nolan paces his movies, the film will fail - but I have every reason to believe that if the script can do, then this will live up to the hype.

It's like Hrvey said in TDK, it's always darkest before the dawn. at the end of TDK, no one won, and a dark shadow was over Gotham. the sequel shows that things will only get worse from there. and the dawn will at last come in the end of the film.
I'm sure in the movie, Bane will be very difficult to be defeated. I think if he uses the tubes on, people will be wondering "why the hell did Batman and all the GPD didn't think to get his tubes off him? That was an easier way to defeat him!" And then people will say the movie is dumb. That is why I love Nolan and his brilliant ideas. I'm sure Bane will still use the venom but differently with out tubes. That is why he has the weird mask, and not the wrestling mask that people are use to with.
The only thing that has slightly disappointed me in Christopher Nolan's Batman films has been the way he directs action. I'm sure "The Dark Knight Rises" will be fantastic and I am hoping he provides a little more detail and clarity in some of the action sequences to further provide something to remember his Batman trilogy by. But that's just me...
actually, nolan has directed 6 films. Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and Inception. and he also did a 1 hr and 15min film called Following, before Memento. But yes, they were all amazing.
On a separate note, I had came up with my own title for this movie, "Dawn of the Knight". If you all remember back in the Dark Knight, during Harvey's press conference about Batman's identity, he said this line, "The night is darkest before dawn." "Dawn of the Knight" alludes back to this, plus it also conveys what Nolan is aiming for with his title, "The Dark Knight Rises", with Batman essentially rising from exile, and bringing light to the dim, fearful, and despondent Gotham.

@scaii100 wtf xmen 3,wolverines origins and ghost rider were good green lantern was pretty bad but its still a fun movie along with fantastic four silver surfer and spiderman 3 was ok to but I agree with the rest.
It should be noted that the production crew have only been filming for about 2 months. Taking that into consideration, it's an AMAZING teaser. The glimpses shown are almost certainly of raw footage that has likely yet to receive retouching by the cinematographer or visual effects. It's still a far cry from the burning logo used in the first teaser for TDK.

To me, it's a real shame that this is gonna be the final Batman movie that Christopher Nolan's going to be directing. etc. Because to me Christopher Nolan's Batman Universe is THE Batman Universe! And I think it even outshines Tim Burton's Batman Universe, although the they both have different styles. But the future Batman films are gonna have a lot to live upto, if they wanna come anywhere near or have the sort of success Christopher Nolan's Batman does/did.

I saw the trailer and it was a good taste of things to come. Bane looks great from what I can tell and in that last clip for it batman seemed to be backing up. Makes me wonder how this is going to end.
I think The Dark Knight Rises is going to be even darker, creepier, and more dramatic than BB and TDK. Think about it, Gordon is in the hospital (likely die), Batman will have his back broken or maybe he will be killed, the villain is not the most famous Batman one (Joker) but the most intimidating, and also his new love has another side to her.

I think the movie will be more successful considering the hype behind the arkham city game. People who are excited for the game will most likely want to see this movie.
I have to agree with this movie living up to the hype. I remember everyone laughing when they announced Heath Ledger as the Joker. Then Ledger delivered and delivered hard. I think Nolan has the stuff to get that kind of performance out of any of his actors and can probably work Bane to his full potential as a character.
i nearly flipped my shit when i saw the blue WB logo come up totally unexpected, i think it was the smartest move for WB to put this in before harry potter because of the fan base is so huge

@SIeepyWonder Any one of those Characters could be shifted to fit the tone of the films I mean Ra's Al Ghul was more of a magical character that in some archs tried to destroy or 'cleanse' the world and in the first film he was made into a Ninja Sensei with an organization that destroyed cities deemed corrupted. It all comes down to the imagination of the writer and how they fit the character to the story. I can give examples for those characters, but I ran out of space.
Made my day when at the end of the trailer iIspotted Batman backing off from Bane. That was fucking cool, and it fit. The little chorus while the Bat symbol was appearing set the tone of the teaser along with the music, giving a slight feeling of dread.

@bhorwith22 It's OK. I'm not too sure, I hate it when a movie gets too hyped up and then when it gets released it's not what people expected. Hype can ruin the expectations of a movie. Then there's too much pressure for this movie to be better than the previous ones. That also ruins it too. There's still a year to go and people will get fed up with hearing about it. If the trailer is real then there's not much to go on it apart from used footage. Seems too many things going on in the movie.
I loved just seeing the glimpse of Bane's face. The expression in his eyes told you "this is a mad man, this is man is deranged but a genius. this guy is dangerous." And to see Batman who's never had any fear in his enemies backing away from him tells you just how imposing he's going to be. I'm going to guess that Bane's responsible for putting the one character in the hospital.
Can somebody just show the part at the end over and over again with bane and catwoman walking in a chaotic way. Pretty awesome I watched that part over and over again.
The scene that hit me most in the trailer was the final one where Batman is backing away from Bane. I'm so used to the image of Batman being this indestructible being that seeing him so weak and vulnerable tore at me. Just that flash of a scene alone sent a flood of emotions. Brilliant.
Cont. clumbersome and conjested (and not in the recent 007/bourne good way) christ if bane just shows up and fights like that in this movie I'm gonna be pissed.
There are two slight alterations that can fix this. speed it up (it looks like bats has gotta take a moment to think for five seconds between every move.) and punctuate. It's okay to be simple and semi-realistic. but every 5-15 seconds you have to throw in something more memorable,: tornado kick,judo throw,flying knee,shit like that
I loved seeing that character in the hospital because it shows us once again that in Nolan's universe nothing is sacred, everyone can die at any minute. It also shows Bruce wayne at his most vulnerable because he says he does not know in his mind if batman still exists. Bane being the main villain is reassuring because he is an übermensch who needs to test his limits and now goes after batman because of the legend he built in the previous 2 films. It's a circle. I really liked it. No worries.
Am I the only one that thought the fight scenes in Dark Knight kinda sucked? whenever batman had to actually fight it just seemed underwhelming. This is mostly due to that muay thai / krav maga (if that's how you spell it.) hybrid 'ultra realistic' crap they made up and threw in there. In 'Begins' the whole shaky cam thing saved it a little but the ball room scene in dark knight was some of the worst action I've seen in a big-budget action movie, it was really fuckin slow
I was excited with the trailer, people may say that it was too short but it was a TEASER and it is suppose to be short, i was surprised on the amount of new footage shown and it just got me really PUMPED for July 20th, 2012.
So there IS a teaser! I thought it was only a rumor since I saw lots of internet blogs and news claiming it was a fake video. I'm going to see Hp today in a few more hours, and trust me, I'm not a big Hp fan but now my main motivation to go see it it's to see The Dark Knight Rises Teaser!

actually, nolan has directed 6 films. Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight, and Inception. and he also did a 1 hr and 15min film called Following, before Memento. But yes, they were all amazing.

On a separate note, I had came up with my own title for this movie, "Dawn of the Knight". If you all remember back in the Dark Knight, during Harvey's press conference about Batman's identity, he said this line, "The night is darkest before dawn." "Dawn of the Knight" alludes back to this, plus it also conveys what Nolan is aiming for with his title, "The Dark Knight Rises", with Batman essentially rising from exile, and bringing light to the dim, fearful, and despondent Gotham.

It should be noted that the production crew have only been filming for about 2 months. Taking that into consideration, it's an AMAZING teaser. The glimpses shown are almost certainly of raw footage that has likely yet to receive retouching by the cinematographer or visual effects. It's still a far cry from the burning logo used in the first teaser for TDK.

To me, it's a real shame that this is gonna be the final Batman movie that Christopher Nolan's going to be directing. etc. Because to me Christopher Nolan's Batman Universe is THE Batman Universe! And I think it even outshines Tim Burton's Batman Universe, although the they both have different styles. But the future Batman films are gonna have a lot to live upto, if they wanna come anywhere near or have the sort of success Christopher Nolan's Batman does/did.

I believe Bane is the perfect villain to end the series.
This man actually did something I believe no villain ever truly did.
He mentally and physically BROKE Batman.
That alone is reason to put him in.
That scene of Batman BACKING AWAY truly drives home how unbelievably dangerous Bane is going to be.

I think The Dark Knight Rises is going to be even darker, creepier, and more dramatic than BB and TDK. Think about it, Gordon is in the hospital (likely die), Batman will have his back broken or maybe he will be killed, the villain is not the most famous Batman one (Joker) but the most intimidating, and also his new love has another side to her.

I have to agree with this movie living up to the hype. I remember everyone laughing when they announced Heath Ledger as the Joker. Then Ledger delivered and delivered hard. I think Nolan has the stuff to get that kind of performance out of any of his actors and can probably work Bane to his full potential as a character.

@SIeepyWonder Any one of those Characters could be shifted to fit the tone of the films I mean Ra's Al Ghul was more of a magical character that in some archs tried to destroy or 'cleanse' the world and in the first film he was made into a Ninja Sensei with an organization that destroyed cities deemed corrupted. It all comes down to the imagination of the writer and how they fit the character to the story. I can give examples for those characters, but I ran out of space.

Made my day when at the end of the trailer iIspotted Batman backing off from Bane. That was fucking cool, and it fit. The little chorus while the Bat symbol was appearing set the tone of the teaser along with the music, giving a slight feeling of dread.
Definitely a superior teaser to Dark Knight's.

@bhorwith22 It's OK. I'm not too sure, I hate it when a movie gets too hyped up and then when it gets released it's not what people expected. Hype can ruin the expectations of a movie. Then there's too much pressure for this movie to be better than the previous ones. That also ruins it too. There's still a year to go and people will get fed up with hearing about it. If the trailer is real then there's not much to go on it apart from used footage. Seems too many things going on in the movie.

I loved just seeing the glimpse of Bane's face. The expression in his eyes told you "this is a mad man, this is man is deranged but a genius. this guy is dangerous." And to see Batman who's never had any fear in his enemies backing away from him tells you just how imposing he's going to be. I'm going to guess that Bane's responsible for putting the one character in the hospital.

The scene that hit me most in the trailer was the final one where Batman is backing away from Bane. I'm so used to the image of Batman being this indestructible being that seeing him so weak and vulnerable tore at me. Just that flash of a scene alone sent a flood of emotions. Brilliant.

Cont. clumbersome and conjested (and not in the recent 007/bourne good way) christ if bane just shows up and fights like that in this movie I'm gonna be pissed.
There are two slight alterations that can fix this. speed it up (it looks like bats has gotta take a moment to think for five seconds between every move.) and punctuate. It's okay to be simple and semi-realistic. but every 5-15 seconds you have to throw in something more memorable,: tornado kick,judo throw,flying knee,shit like that

I loved seeing that character in the hospital because it shows us once again that in Nolan's universe nothing is sacred, everyone can die at any minute. It also shows Bruce wayne at his most vulnerable because he says he does not know in his mind if batman still exists. Bane being the main villain is reassuring because he is an übermensch who needs to test his limits and now goes after batman because of the legend he built in the previous 2 films. It's a circle. I really liked it. No worries.

Am I the only one that thought the fight scenes in Dark Knight kinda sucked? whenever batman had to actually fight it just seemed underwhelming. This is mostly due to that muay thai / krav maga (if that's how you spell it.) hybrid 'ultra realistic' crap they made up and threw in there. In 'Begins' the whole shaky cam thing saved it a little but the ball room scene in dark knight was some of the worst action I've seen in a big-budget action movie, it was really fuckin slow
