im just not sure why you were willing to shoot through such dense cover...???? thats very wrong and very unethical to do to the animal..... but whatever... nice "second shot"
Thanks for your wonderful comment!! I see your not a true long range hunter, just a field shooter. A small twig can get clipped from a bush hunter resulting in a wounded or lost deer. We were able to watch the deers reaction, this deer was not wounded and we followed the 1st shot up with a clean kill minutes later. Please show me your video of long range hunting, I'd love to critique that.
Those shots should have NEVER been taken. There was too much brush in the way. The 1st shot was deflected by a branch which ended up in a wounded animal. By taking unclear long range shots, you are showing that you have absolutely NO RESPECT for the animal! I am a PA hunter and I have taken whitetail from 600+ yards, but they are CLEAR shots. I won't shoot a deer through brush! You disgust me!
youll never win with treehuggers cant appreciate a good hunting video he dropped it and thats all that matters who cares if he did it at 25yrds or 1500 a kill is a kill
If you follow the wake from the 1st shot you can see it was headed perfect but just clipped a small sapling. Where's your long range hunting videos????
This is close for me. The majority of deer I've killed in the past 10 years have been over 1000 yard. I'll never understand why half of you with pissy comments even bother to watch. It's titled Long Range Hunting for a reason, it depicts long range hunting situations. I'll guarantee you that more deer are wounded and not recovered in archery or rifle shots under 100 yards than there are long range. I'm not here to argue if you don't like it move on and take your comments with you.
have some balls and give the deer a chance alittle closer pussy i fought in ww2 the worst scum were the snipers ...cowards that cant look an opponent in the eye
That's way too far away for bowhunting. That makes for a larger margin of error leading to more injured animals than those actually killed on the spot.
i love long range shooting anyone can miss it happens but i thought for shure you would have killed it one shot , I shot my 09 buck 475 yards with a 7mm RUM. handload 150 noslers lupold 6,5 20 50. just love one shot kills that far. I dont care what anyone says its not something everyone can do. Toby steve
It looked llike the first round hit something in front of the deer. Did the round deflect/fragment off a limb that didn't get picked up on the camera? Regardless, 2nd shot was excellent, risky, but dang fine shot. I would've stalked in another couple hundred yds or so to take away so much vegitation...but to each his own, congradulations.
nice shot! Im a fan of the .30 and .338 mags myself, and no amount of practice or even great equipment eliminate errors. I guess a twig and a mousefart saved him the first time ;)
@Esouasset thats stupid. learning to stalk and get up close may be the challenge but "learning to shoot short distance" is just simple. put it where you want it and done. long range shooting takes a lot more skill than short range shooting.
@Esouasset its wracked off here in the uk. air rifles are limited to 12ft/lbs,anything over that were need a firearms certificate and police checks. i'd love a firearm for hunting, hmm a .303 lee enfield would be nice
what a bad shot for long range...... i took my first deer at age 15 at 480 yards ONE shot and he was down..... And to make things better the rifle i used was a Savage Arms Model 12 .308 cal 180 grain...... more pratice
Great vid. I see the usual youtube idiots, some jealous, some saying to much gun....hahaha, Id always rather have to much gun than not enough !!! Nice shooting, sounds like some wind in the background, nice judgement !!!
I expected the deer to come a little lower and din't have time to adjust the camera, that's why the deer is high in the frame. The bullet struck the deer high on the shoulder and was driven downwards through his chest killing him instantly. Thanks for watching.
