Starting point is different for all people, because everyone has own the most comfortable start point. So, in your case, try to use pre-sketched bikes, or under draw paper put picture of the bike and try to "copy" bike's outlines, and see where you feel more comfortable with start point. Other direction I can give you is to study bike's pictures from magazines. Pay attentions to view angle, wheels spread out, size of it compared to bike hight, etc...
your style is different. definitely not like a designer. more like an illustrator. 6 hours is a long time. What program was used? def not photoshop. MS paint maybe?
I drawed that in 30 min with nothing but a pen and a piece of paper. It's not as good as your's the only thing wrong with it is that the wheels are a bit wobbly and the seat is a bit slanted. BUT YOUR'S IS VERY GOOD YOUR'S IS BETTER THAT MINE BY A LONG SHOT. (PAUSE), YOUR'S IS AMAZING!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE GOT A GIFT CHERISH IT. P.S THE DRAWING I WAS TALKING ABOUT WAS MY FIRST 3D DRAWING EVER OF A MOTORBIKE, MY TECH TEACHER SEAS I HAVE A GIFT.

cool vid. the problem by me is the starting point: deciding on how long the motorcycle is and where the curves need to be and all those kind of stuff
