so you can't drink at all on accutane? i'm considering taking it. but i'm 18 and in college, so yea drinking plays big part of social life here. i mean limiting myself wouldn't be a problem. but i don't want to have to sit home while everyone else goes out. for the people that say "you can go out and not drink!" no, i can't. any advice??
I agree, you are really pretty. but i get annoyed when people say you will outgrow your acne. yeah Im almost 25 and my acne is getting worse. I had perfect skin in high school and it all went downhill after that. Ive tried everything for acne and nothing has worked long term. Going to the derm and Asking about generic accutane next week :)

yea, there pretty good. First time i had one i couldn't stop laughing. Now i just shake like crazy whenever i drink it, which is why i don't anymore. My teacher thought i was on meth. That's only due to the sugar rush though, it'll wear off in bout 2 hours.

Well, even before Accutane I was never able to wear contacts for an extended period of time. So far nothing has changed. I also have really bad bags under my eyes that are impossible to hide (except for on camera apparently ha) so I don't mind wearing my glasses all the time. But, when I go to the bars or wherever, I always wear contacts =P
I will be moving up to 60 mg next month and who knows if I will ever be able to wear them =(
I don't know if you know this but you are a very, very beautiful young woman. You shouldn't too much about the acne problem as you are at the age where you will soon be out growing it. Your hair looks better straight than curly and you are even more attractive wearing rimless glasses as you are without them on. So good luck
I know what you mean...but don't drink there's a reason why your getting bloodwork done to check your liver. And if your liver does get affected you can even contract hepatitis c. Even the singer justin timberlake when he takes accutane and he's in a club he just has bottles of water that's what he said in an interview. When your off accutane just go for it but if I was you I wouldn't do it. Btw you have a caring boyfriend how sweet : ). Be strong you can do it!!!

My docter never even mentioned it to me until i asked him and he said i could drink, it also doesnt say anything about not drinking on the accutane package itself. im currently on day 15 and Ive drank more than 10 beer on 3 different occasions. I'm not suggesting you should drink but I have chose too and I feel fine, If you do decide to have some drinks just make sure you drink lots of water the day before and after

I think that the keratin treatment would be okay, but to be sure you should ask your dermatologist. I tried tanning, it broke me out slightly =/...My lips are the same way DRY!
So anyway, long story short, it sucks to take accutane, it is a very strong drug and everything, but it really worked in the end so it's worth it god willing! As far as the side effects... I don't remember too many of the specifics because I was pretty young and not aware of most of them. But, I do remember the skin peeling! That was soooooo bad for me. It was pretty persistent the whole time sadly. I just kept using moisturizer and sometimes that didn't even work. :(
AHHH yay for visiting!! =) My skin has undergone a complete 180 since I started accutane. This past winter break I broke out in several cysts every single day. I refused to visit friends because of how bad my skin was. I am only on 30 mg a day and it has thus cleared me up significantly (1 bad breakout so far for only 2 days worth). I am on month 2 now and my doctor plans on upping me to 60 next time I see him. I have NO blackheads on my nose anymore, first time in my life!!
However, I CAN tell you that accutane worked extremely well for me. I have not had significant acne problems since coming off of it. I will get one or two pimples of occasion, but it's always manageable with over the counter medication- I use Neutrogena Facial Scrub to maintain clear skin, and sometimes Benzoyl Peroxide 10% to spot a specific pimple and it works well.
