  • I know this is irrelevant. But Anthony Eden reminds me of Mike Myers in Austen Powers

  • Britain militarily crushed the Egyptians in Suez. This idea that Nassar defeated the British is a fuckin JOKE. The British army killed 1000 Egyptians at a loss of only one man at Suez. Militarily Suez was completely under British control. It was only thanks to the Americans and their economic tyranny that Britain was forced to retreat. Eisenhower was a stupid, inexperienced mong!

  • @TheLiberalKnight Nasir defeated the British politically. He gained larger international sympathy while Britain and France became more internationally isolated. Britain's status as an international power was ended when they backed down when the US told them to. As I said, this was a political victory.

  • @iraqiblaze That's fair enough. But I was responding to idiots on here who seem to think the British army was defeated by the Egyptians.

  • @TheLiberalKnight Militarily Britain was not defeated no.

  • The Americans opposed the British as imperialist, yet just one decade later they were doing exactly the same thing in vietnam

  • @dmax631 It's called Politics they fuck us up.

  • @dmax631 Uhh the U.S. did NEVER ANYTHING TO VIETNAM. So what money did the U.S. got in Vietnam? Nothing. Nothing imperalist for the U.S. there in Vietnam so you're wrong. If they did, they would have won Vietnam ages ago and coneur through China.

  • @RichardElden Sigh, have a good life. I don't have time to deal with nonsense.

  • @RichardElden Whats a wog?

  • @RichardElden Why are you telling me to leave? What level of intelligence does this question have?

  • This is their land, this is their canal, it was their blood that made that canal so foreigner must leave.

  • what is the music in 7:00 it is awesome, and i am a history major and i love this thanks.

  • usa and britch and france and jew and wast vs egypt

    egypt won

  • So Egiptions stole Suez. Oh ok.

  • Just like in Libya where UK and France bombed Gahafi forces instead of stoping it. When Eden colluded with the French and Isrealis to attack Egypt because Nassar had nationalized the Suez canal. At that time however the US had a president wise enough (and had power enough) to put a stop to it instead of actually joining in the attack like our current leader is doing.

  • @RichardElden

The PLO was in fact created by Nasser. They were more of a nationalist group but Nasser kept them in check because he feared counter-attacks from Israel (rightfully so).

  • @Oddballmarine90

Nasser was actually trying to negotiate with Israel until Egyptian police under covered the Lavon Affair. (Israel agents trying to fire bomb US/UK embassies in an attempt to keep British troops in the Suez.) I would imagine along with that and trying to stop soviet intervention in Hungary while your allies intervene in Egypt, would give the US a good reason not to support the operation.

  • @RichardElden

I rather have Nasser type in power today in every Middle eastern country. Nasser at least had honor and pride and was focused on confronting Israel militarily. The nations in the Middle East today are using the tools of the weak by sponsoring terrorist groups.

  • @RichardElden

Why would the US want to support the Suez operation?

  • Comment removed

  • Just listened to Webster Tarpley on Alex Jones channel.

Nothing bloody changes,Obama is trying exactly the same.

What the hell is wrong with these globalists.

  • Israel was always used to destroy and divide muslim countries, and now they using America to do the same. phucking lies and hypocrites.

  • NOW THERE I AGREE WITH YOU!!!!!

I mean Saddam that pig went on mass-murdering Kurds and Shias and the western powers did nothing. With Kuwait, they did something, because they would benefit from Kuwait's enormous wealth, oil and gold.

All they did was lay sanctions, which did nothing but kill millions of people in Iraq, including 500 000 children. They should've toppled Saddam at that moment, if they were truly seekers of freedom, justice and democracy. And they helped Saddam against Iran!

  • @RichardElden

The western powers refused to fund the building of the Aswan Dam, so Nasser nationalised the Suez canal in response. The westerners were the ones who began the whole thing.

Under the treaty, which you speak of, the west also promised to fund the building of the Aswan Dam so that Egypt could benefit from hydroelectricity, but they refused. So they broke the treaty first.

The 1st Gulf War was bullcrap. America did nothing to stop Saddam from continuing to mass-murder the Kurds.

  • @RichardElden

Hey retard, it was masterminded by Britain and France but built though enslaving the Egyptian people into working for colonialist pigs. Nasser never even asked the Soviet Union, he just took over the canal right away. It belongs to Egypt, not the the colonialist pigs.

Eisenhower can go to hell. I don't give a crap about him. No nation has the right to occupy another nation. Egypt owns the canal, not Britain or France.

  • @RichardElden

No it didn't belong to you pig colonialists. Nasser wasn't communist moron. He jailed communists.

The Suez Canal was in Egypt. It was Egyptian. The colonialist enslavers built it through slave-labour and when Egypt was independant they had every right to take back what they worked for, without the British or French pigs interfering. You people don't own other countries. They haev right to independance, pig.

  • @RichardElden

Go screw yourself terrorist pig. "Britain, France and Israel all did the right thing in 1956".

What's the right thing? Violating Egyptian territory and murdering little children and innocent civilians, all for the 'Suez Canal'? The Suez Canal belonged to Egypt. Britain, those pig terrorists, had no right to do what they did. Nasser only wanted Egypt to be independant from the Tripartite aggressor pigs. Go burn in hell terrorist.

  • ??? both nothing to do with the Suez crises and ridiculous, Israel has no real qurral with the Saudis, both are US allies for Pete's sake

  • Creation of Israel is a plan to take over Mecca and Medina. If you don't believe me then look up plans of greater Israel.

  • I live in Suez Now .... and it's a nice city ..... and i'm proud for being Egyptian :-)

  • May Allah (SWT) bless Jamal Abdun-Nasser.

  • the suez canal company was a public shareholder company with egyptian shareholders (who nasser liquidated, exiled etc.) as well as french and british. it leased land from egypt for the canal, much like britain leased the land of hong kong, that lease was due to expire in 1988.

nasser was a tin-pot mussolini, who thought he led the arabs(?), though the centre of arab power-influence those days could be said to be in bagdad, hence this tin-pot mussolini's flourish.

    a better leader followed.

  • soviets gave everyone shit in the 20th century

  • who had the experties to build the cannal the british and it was british money which made the cannal once again the british have help the nation who where in its empire but nobody says any thing about that and it was usa that made the french and british give the cannal up the the egyptians

  • That video was right on the money. Well done. (Except for that one small gaff where the narrator calls that Britsh guy a "French" general.)

  • imagine if egypt had moubarak and abualgahit back then instead of Nasser. The britts would still be masters.

  • @MrHistoryman45 I agree with you regarding the comment you left me. But you need to remember the new governement installed in Egypt does what it does for nothing else but money. Do you agree? I believe they are paid by Israel to hold back the brothers and sisters in Gaza as you see them do at the moment. Hmm, if so definitly not a surprise.

  • Eden said run not for the benefit of one country but of all - Bollocks! His only interest was in stealing the canal for the interests of the British ruling class. Even in the shabby history of British Imperialism this episode is especially sordid. Sadly all though its end brought the feeble minded Eden down it did not end Western Imperialist designs on the Middle East. The Capitalists learnt to disguise their intentions and to rely on the US not Britain.

  • Nasser was pretty awesome. Colonization makes me sick. This is a very cool documentary!

  • @nesikhaNofret Nasser was probably the greatest of Arab leaders, his early death was a tragedy. If Egypt was still run according to his principles it would certainly not be helping Israel to blockade the civilian population of Gaza.

  • Nasser the father of freedom he was the Champion of the world the Greatest ever.

  • Nasser was a bully who blamed his failures on others.

  • @aznsbd , how could Nasser be a bully while he was the underdog , he had no failures till the 67 war which was a mutiny by his double crossing allays anyway, you're a brainwashed American what would you know about world history ! nothing.

  • I thought his fight against the colonial powers was noble but his actions in the six day war tarnished his legacy. The Russians started the incident by giving false intelligence about an immenent Israeli attack but Nasser had several opportunities to stand down from war.

    1) Expulsion of UN peacekeapers from the Sinai, he could have let them stay and save face.

    2) Closing the Strait of Tehran to Israeli shipping, this was a virtual line in the sand.

    3) Igniting the Arab populace to war

  • @aznsbd , first of all this is your personal political opinion which most people would disagree with, Nasser's military failure in 1967 came from 3 main reasons;

    1. Tactical Procrastination of his own military leadership.

    2. The Soviets, USA, Europeans all opposed any Egyptian attack against Israel which placed Egypt on the defensive from launching the first attack.

    3. The massive support that Israel received from everyone.

he waterways strait of Aqaba is within Egyptian territorial waters

  • @aznsbd, Only Egyptian authority cab say who should or should not boat through these waters, in hind sight Israel was hostile to Egyptian sovereignty, they attacked in 1956 and 1965 tortured and murdered Egyptians and Palestinians.

The UN or anyone else has not jurisdiction to be on the sovereign land of Sinai Egypt, Sinai has been Egyptian since the known existence of man kind, how would you like the UN stationed in on the Texas Mexico borders?

  • Well yes but why single out Israel to close the straits, it wasn't about the straits, it was about the elimination of Israel? The difference is in Texas is that we can live in peace with our neighbors so we don't need UN peacekeapers there. You in the Arab world have never truly accepted them and have fought countless wars with them.

  • @aznsbd , finally we all know that Americans are brainwashed by Israel through your Media the Jewish Media and Hollywood, obviously you will always be unconditionally bias in favor of Israel, therefore, your opinion in Middle East politics is partisan and unjustifiable it does not hold water, you will never understand the people of the region

  • @RockysBack1952 Our media has brainwashed us? Don't you realize that your own media has been lying to you for years? When Israeli planes were destroying the Arab airforces, your media reported that the war had begun and that the Arabs were winning great victories. Your media have always been mouthpieces for dictators like Nasser.

  • @aznsbd the Egyptian media did initially get the wrong information from the front lines but within hours they reported what happened, that was a dirty sneaky surprise attack by Israel and without American and European satellites, hardware and supplies they couldn’t destroy the Egyptian airforce in 1967, meanwhile, everyone on the planet knows that 90% of American TV and Radio broadcasting channels are owned and operated by elite Zionists, I am not making this stuff up you know

  • @aznsbd Hollywood movies brainwash Americans everyday by portraying Arabs as evil doers and Israelis are the prosecuted jews of WW2 lol

There is no more freedom in America as there is in Europe or Asia or ME, this is what they brainwash you to think but the truth is America is not like it used to be anymore, people are owned by debt, monitored electronically and enslaved by a corporate society of absolute capitalism where, sorry to say, a very small minority owns most of the country ,

  • @RockysBack1952 and it is in America where you are allowed to write such things without being persecuted -_-

  • @silversowrd I don't live in America, we have freedom of speech right here in Egypt without being prosecuted, do you realy think that America is the only place in the world that has freedom haha you are brainwashed just like the rest of you.

  • Egypt has freedom of speech? Doesn't Mubarak have your country under marshal law? Its fine now because all you do is insult America and Israel but try that Harsh language against your own regime and we will see how far your so called freedom speech takes you. America is different I insult Obama constantly, I do it for breakfast.

  • @aznsbd, We don’t insult America, we have great respect to the hard working honest American people its your Zionist controlled governments that we do not trust, whether Obama is in office or GWB they all have the same policies towards the Middle East, in addition Egypt does not have Marshal law as you claim, there is the Emergency Law which is against terrorism just like you have the Patriot law which is still active. Innocent hard working American "Arabs and Muslims" are leaving America

  • @aznsbd In addition let me ask you a question, you have a beautiful land that runs from Ocean to Ocean with plenty of resources why do you get involved in this Middle Eastern Crap, why did you invade and destroy Iraq, Iraq never did anything wrong to you, not a single Iraqi was with the terrorists on 9/11, why did you help Saddam then come back and murdered him, why did you help the Shah against a democratically elected government then come back and help Khomeini lead the revolution from France

  • Simple answer for all your questions is for our national interest. I think the Invasion of Iraq and the establishment of a Democratic government was to curve Iranian infleunce in the region. Your Arab right? So I'm sure you don't want Tehran getting too unmanageable, also the War might have been a personal vendetta of the Bush family toward Saddam Hussein after he tried to assassinate the first president Bush in the 1990s.

  • @aznsbd Iraq under Saddam was the last left antidote against the IRIran and the Islamists radicals you see, Americans don’t really understand the ME cuz the elite Zionist manipulates your way of thinking, there would be no Al Qaida in Iraq if Saddam was still alive and the oil in Kuwait would still have been sold on the open market, Saddam was your allay until the Iran Contra deal broke loose which made him turn against you for double crossing pretending to be his allays while helping Iran

  • As for the Iranians, at the time of the Shah it was the Cold War, the democratic government at the time nationalized the country's oil economy and that is usually the first sign that a communist revolution is in the works. Deposing the Shah and helping Khomeini was a mistake caused by Jimmy Carter, my country's worst President of all time, thats one of the reasons why President Reagan won two landslides, it was a rebuff of Carter's policies.

  • @aznsbd , the Iranian revolution was pre-planned many years before Carter became president, even though no one can dispute your claim for National interest but you still can’t deny that every time the GOPers get into office they screw up the whole world for their own special interests, did you know that only the aristocrats benefited from the British empire while the majority went fighting the wars and whipped the elites arses for nothing

  • For strategic purposes we helped Saddam because we saw him as a counter balance to Islamic Republic of Iran. We only turned against him when he proved to have larger ambitions in the region and invaded Kuwait. But Bush at the time hoped that Saddam might remain as a buffer against Iran and didn't depose him then even though he could have. I think Saddam would still be in power today had he not attempted to kill the first Bush. We did not kill Saddam, he was killed by his own people.

  • @aznsbd Your governments really doesn’t police the world they make it worse for the whole world, your governments are probably playing the same double crossing game while Iran and Israel being a big show planning to take over the Arab world, America doesn't benifit from all these wars infact thet pay the cost in bood and money, for your info Vietnam is now a democratic country

  • Ha I can tell you for a fact that Vietnam is communist not democratic, I was born in Vietnam and my relatives just immigrated from there and while I can say they definitely have relation with the United States right now, I can tell you for sure that Vietnam is not democratic.

  • @aznsbd, Israel has been a big burden on America, the West didn’t need to give Israel 200 nuclear war heads to defend itself, Israel has the military edge they are considered the 4th most power country in the world, now unless their is bigger agenda to rule the ME you just point blank didn't need to invade Iraq , uness it was for Israel's special interest which is not going to happen because the American people would have to pay with the blood and money for the interests of the elite.

  • @aznsbd Democracy does not succeed if you shove it down the throats of others by the sword, democracy comes from within the people, by the people for the people, therefore, my dear American friend there is no use in saying we installed a democratic government and not by the will of the Iraqi people, culture has to change first then democracy will follow, I'm sue that you know exactly what I mean,

  • @aznsbd, Egypt fought the terrorist before GWBushit was even born, an Egyptian CIA operative warned you about 9/11 of an immenent attack but Rice ignored the warning as if the GWB wanted 9/11 or his special interest

  • No I don't really believe that, we as a people were asleep about terrorrism, 911 was a very loud wake up call. If anything our government was incompetent but not culpable. Who in the CIA would give such orders and keep quiet about it knowing that somebody they knew might die because they failed to act?

  • @aznsbd , Israel is very hostile and aggressive they’ve been the culprits from the beginning in every war except for the 1973 war

  • Nasser, Castro, Chavez....REAL MEN.

  • Andrew, none of these people are the same don't catagorize people

  • gamal abdel naser is the best. may god rest his soul. his death was a big misery and melancholy in egypt. the people were very sad

  • You are right in some points but you cant compare him with anyone you mentioned.

Because he modernized Egypt build factories , distributed wealth , ended feudalism and Many loved him , maybe he was dictator but he loved his country too much and also did for it much.

Sure he wasn't the best and didnt allowed democracy but he also did good things

  • بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

  • how come that he lost the war in six days! he had a modern weapon at that time ...

  • In on sense the Suez crisis makes me happy, I like to see these guys throw off the yoke of western domination. But at the same time it makes me disappointed in the actions of Britain, and also sad to see that this signaled an end for perhaps the worlds most powerful superpower. Britain was supposed to be a force for Democracy after the Second World War, not domination.

  • @Aurileus5 Eden did the right thing.

  • @JuanMacready yaa and so did Bush and Blair you asshole.
