  • I GOTTA WATCH THIS AGAIN!

  • Brad...your vocals on this are SUPER!....such a difficult piece to take on and you did an awesome job!....really does nail the atmosphere of this BRAVO!

  • swoon!....BRILLIANT!...just LOVE that dirty hammond sound....great!....and what a great job on the kit too!....and the vocals..and the guitars...the bass!....oh!...the mix too! FANTASTIC!....you really are bringing a lot of joy my way....THANK YOU!

  • @SnowyOwl1959 Thanks again for the nice comments, SnowyOwl1959! You can also watch the entire Supper's Ready on my channel instead of watching it in the three parts. Thanks again!

  • Wow. Covering all my favorite bands I see. Love how you are doing a portion of Supper's Ready. Amazing!

  • @theGreatAddo Thanks, theGreatAddo! This video is just a portion of my 23 minute video of the entire Supper's Ready. Please check it out on my channel if you get a chance! Thanks again!

  • This is absolutely amazing, man. I can't even try to think of anything that was done wrong, even the singing, although NO ONE beats Gabriel. I only wish I had as much skill on the keyboards, guitars, and drums as you do, but I probably haven't been playing nearly as long as you (keys - 8 yrs, guitar - 4 mths, drums - 4 years). You ought to teach people how to play that solo, I've been trying it forever! I can only do the In the Cage solo and Cinema Show, NEVER this, though. MAD props to you.

  • @GettingEmOutByFriday Thanks for the comment and kind words, GettingEmOutByFriday!

  • Seeing this is like disecting a frog. It's fantastic! I mean that as a compliment though it may sound not so. It's all brilliantly isolated so one can truly see how it was meant to work together. This is what makes it great even before I celebrate it as a cover piece. Brad doesn't have the soulful rasp of Peter Gabriel which, agreed, was less obvious in his 20s than now, but was certainly there. Most covering singers, except maybe the guy from The Musical Box, cant get it. YES is Brad's forte.

  • @pilates68 Thanks for the comment, pilates68!

  • @pilates68 figuring out, learning, and playing all the parts to this song was very much like disecting a frog. :) I think Apocolypse in 9/8 is the best piece of music on the planet. It's amazing what a group of young men could write and record, isn't it? Thanks again for the comment!

  • @chris21125150 Agreed !!! Genesis was so good as an artsy five piece, and like most fans, I also love the first two post-Gabriel albums. But from romantic, to absurdist, to lyrical, to eerie and unsettling Genesis was all over and hitting us with it all. And all in their 20's and early 20's at that!!! Enough about them. YOU are a fantastic musician.

  • @pilates68 I know. It's too bad there isn't music like that being made any more. Long live the 70's! Thanks for the compliment, pilates68! :)

  • the drums score is almost identical!! I'm a drummer and ploy-instrumentist too, and i think your job is PERFECT!!

  • @snooker444 Thanks, snooker444!

  • Fantastic stuff you guys! And to think Tony Banks needed all those keyboards!

  • @jgfergus Thanks, jgfergus!

  • Excellent! A lot of work went into this!

  • @AdamasMst Thank you, AdamasMst!

  • If you guys were playing in a band onstage near me, I would be there to see you!!!

    Absolutely incredible job!!!

A LOT of work went into this, and it is not easy to play.

  • @hotdogking Thanks for the comment, hotdogking!

  • 7 TRUMPETS ; 7 LAYERS ; WOW !!!!!!!

  • @ksjoyjespeace :) Thanks again, ksjoyjespeace!

  • Absolutely fantastic!! How did you layer this? Which track did you lay down first, second, third, etc.? This is one of my all time favorite songs and you nailed it. Well done!!

  • @gabbleratchetn98 Thanks, gabbleratchetn98! First thing was the 12 string and I forget from there. :) Glad you liked it!

  • OH MY GOD! YOU ARE AMAZING!!!This is a real masterpiece and you've played it wonderfully!!!

  • @gixo92 Thanks for the compliments, gixo92! :)

  • Wow! Im a fan! Youve won me over!

  • @missdebbielee Thanks, missdebbielee!

  • Chris you did such an amazing job on the instrumentation for Supper's ready...and here's the difference from other covers; it still contains the emotional imapct of the original; BRAVO!

  • @amccann7 Thanks for the nice comments, Amy!

  • wow you did as sure as eggs is eggs in A not even Peter Gabriel did that they always lowered it to G, just shows what a great voice Brag G has

  • Well done Chris (& Brad) - and who introduced you to Genesis so many years ago?

Totally agree with you - my favourite too.

  • @rallanpartridge Hey Allan! I was hoping you'd see this. (Did you catch the 'Thanks RAP' at the very end of this video? :) :) I still remember sitting at your place and hearing this song for the first time in my life. :) :) Thanks for that! Never to be forgotten. :)

  • @chris21125150 Now that i got to the end - yes, thanks, thats kind of you.

  • Very good!

  • One of the finest vids that have been created and played and of course those vocals to die for; performed so masterfully. Truly an enjoyment and an enrichment for the souls growth. Keep it up Chris. SOME OF THE GREATEST musicians will be coming forth with you creating special things to bring awareness to the masses. I look forward to more from you Chirs. THANKS once again. Totally WOW-ing. :-) Peace and Love!!

  • I love you Chris, probably you are the missing ring between us ( musicians Genesis fans ) and Genesis : )

    Exellent job guys

  • You are fucking great, keep it up !!!!!!!

  • Stupendous job! Chris, you should get an award or something for this! :-)

  • Pretty good but you're kind of cheating on the solo aren't you? and that organ sounds like a poly synth from about 1981

  • @ontherush77 cheating in the sense that I don't happen to have two keyboards that have sounds I want for both parts, so I had to use the same keyboard and take two seperate videos. If I had more money, maybe. :) I can only do my best with the equipment I have. Send me money and I'll upgrade my equipment! :)

  • Absolutely utterly stunning. The work you guys must have put into this. So professional. Brilliant.

I'm working on a piano solo arrangement- this will help me a lot (and inspire me to keep going) Tnanks very much guys- you're an inspiration.

  • I can't tell this from the original!

  • great job. fantastic

  • No words. Simply really great.

  • Wowie - blown away. Love it!

  • You have so much talents, Chris! Well done! More power to you!

  • OMG

  • HOLY CRAP! Chris you outdid yourself this time! I have tears in my eyes as I listen to the final strains of this magnificent piece of prog rock you've recreated! WELL DONE! And kudos to Brad for his vocals, I can appreciate he didn't try to be exactly like peter, but instead was exactly who he was... Brad! Nice work! Can't tell you how much I loved it! 2 thumbs WAY up!

  • Chris, I've run out of superlatives to throw at you. This is mind-boggling! WHEN do we see a Chris L. album?!

  • Holy smokes, this is really an incredible job- very well done! I realize YT enforces a 10 minute limit on videos. Has this been uploaded anywhere else in full?

  • @kevbob Thanks for the comment, kevbob. I'm afraid you have to watch them in three sections. You can see the other sections if you go to my channel.

  • @chris21125150 yep, I've seen all three! Was just seeing if there was a whole one on another site. :) Anyway, thanks for posting these and all your stuff, I always enjoy your work. cheers

  • @kevbob Hi again. I have now uploaded the entire supper's ready on my channel as one video. Hopefully you get a chance to check it out.

  • @chris21125150 cool, I didn't know they were upgradable. Great!

  • @kevbob They didnt' upgrade, but my account has now been given permission to upload longer videos than 15 minutes. Not sure why, maybe because of lenght of time I've been uploading, not sure, but hey, I'm not going to question it. :)

  • I really like your videos, since I saw this video I know for sure I'm your fan...

could please give a try to one of my favorite songs of yes.. TO BE OVER

it will be totally awesome is you could play that

thanks for all your effort, you are great man!

  • Great work!!!!! I'm a big fan of you!! Please try The Battle of Epping Forest!!!!!!!!!

    Greatings from Argentina.

  • King of Kings. Grats to Brad for his hard job on vocals. I love your trilogy

  • this is one of the top 10 songs of my life... I 100% appreciate the effort you put into this, this is a song i can whistle the whole keyboard 9/8 solo too, i can play large parts of it on guitar.. i CAN'T play drums but i can do a dam good job of this on my knees lol, and i fancy i sing it rather well in the car too - so, speaking as a lover of this song ( as i'm sure we all are) i just gotta say you've done this old beauty justice - thanks.

  • Incredible stuff Chris - I can't tell you how impressed I am. And a big hurrah to Brad for the vocals. Now you've got this out of your system, you can begin work on the complete 'Lamb Lies Down on Broadway!' (I'm kidding, honestly!)

  • great job guys

  • Absolutely amazing, this is one of your best works of all time. I love your music, such professionalism and dedication goes into all your music. You are an inspiration and a most talented musician. Good work on the vocals, this must of been a challenge but it sounds as close to the original as I can imagine. Thank you.

  • Seems like you've nailed it.

Absolutely Superb! How can I see the whole thing at once?

  • @Topographer I have now uploaded the entire video as one on my channel. Thanks again for the comment!

  • wow!

  • Great performance!!

  • i don`t know, which words to use here in this case... passion for details ... passion for music ... ^^ :-) simply wow^^

  • WoW! Quite an achievement! ... yes I was looking forward to part 3,,, congratulation guys!

  • You guys have outdone yourselves. Truly fantastic!

  • Blown Away!!!!

This is just how I feel after seeing this, the final in your series of 3 vids.

Great...no...EXCELLENT job for tackleing such a classic and DOING it!!!

    Bravo!!!

  • Super! Great work!

  • First of all, superb. One of the things I love about the "Apocalypse in 9/8" section is listening to Collins drums build up from that repetitive pattern as he adds things little by little until the pattern is in there somewhere but with all this other stuff he's doing on top of it. I also have to admit that I love the live versions of "Supper's Ready" over the album version. More energy.
