  • Not perfect, but really nice =)

  • I have seen many tutorials and this one is really the best fucking tutorial Ive ever came across. I wish you much wonderful, good sir : ) Thankyou so much for the effort in making this!

  • Hopefully this video will help me get all the parts. Still a work in progress for me. Thanks.

  • Thank you !

  • You are a great teacher, with no words at all.Ive been wanting to learn this song for years.Ive dabbled in it,but tonight ive got it pretty good cause of you, man.I hope you see my comment and just know that a total stranger helped somebody out.We should all try to be that way, when we can.Thanks.

  • @green66vw Wow, thanks a lot! I'm happy to hear the video has been helpful. I've watched tons of tutorials myself and learned so much about playing guitar on Youtube, that I'm glad to give something back to the community :) Thanks again for your feedback!

  • @flamingnostrils This is a million times more helpful than many of the tutorials out there, and you anticipate the problems noobs like myself would have following along. One question: Whats's the picking pattern in part 3?

  • @Joneshing Thanks for your comment!

I added my tab for the song to the description, just be sure to copy/paste it to notepad or something and change the font (e.g. Lucida or Courier work fine) to view it properly.

  • Thanks, that's a rap. Clear fingering for video.

Can you tell us what's the mak of the capo - is the capo capable of moving, looks like same as Sungha Jung in Theme to Titanic where he moves it half way through the tune. Any idea? Thanks.

  • @jomarc10 Thanks, I'm glad it helped.

Mine's just a basic Shubb capo, model C1. Not really movable like that during a song.

  • Dear Mr. Flaming Nostrils, Thank you for this lesson.

  • Wonderful clear way of showing how to play a piece like this. Keep'm coming !

  • Great job man i love the way you done it! :D

  • FN - Not sure if you have the technology, but it would be even MORE amazing to see the tab on screen at the same time. There were just a few places where I couldn't really make out what was going on. (e.g. the measure where "Sage..." is sung.) Tab would help there. But your tutorial really got me going and I am practicing this lovely tune a lot. Nearly have it committed to muscle memory. If you can tell me the "Sage" measure, I'd be really grateful.

So thanks again, and keep it up.

  • @EukaryoteVoter I always try to hold my fingers in a way that it would be as clear as possible to see which strings are pressed down etc., but it's not always perfect ofc. Adding tabs has crossed my mind, but I'm not sure how to do that...I might look into it later.

The "Sage" measure is actually exactly the same as the one before it (at "Parsley"), but with the ring finger lifted off the 5th string. So basically at Parsley it's an open C chord, at Sage it's Am7.

    Hope that helps!

  • Hello Flaming nostrils

Thanks for this tutorial. I have known every note of this song in my head for over 30 years, but I could not connect the tab I was using to the actual measures of the song. Your methodical, steady approach with full speed then half speed was REALLY helpful. Many thanks to you.

  • @EukaryoteVoter Hey, thank you so much. I'm trying to better my tutorials as I make them and have been waiting for some feedback on my method. After watching countless tutorials on YT, I always try to think of how I would learn the songs best myself and try to apply that in my own videos. I will probably stick with this method for now. Again, thanks a lot for your comment!

  • wow, this is great, thanks!
