  • No.. I don't call this nateral horse manship I call it some one jumping 2ft bare back

  • @Junolover1997 @dietcokegirl118 is right... you AREN'T supposed to stand in your stirrups... you're supposed to use your legs to momentarily hold yourself out of the saddle (to give the horse freedom) while you follow the horse's natural motion.(rather than forcing an unnatural "two point") Good jumpers ride and jump without stirrups (or bareback) just to make their legs strong enough so they don't put too much weight in the stirrups (aka standing in the stirrups).

  • that horse is SO CUTE!!!

  • i congratulate you! incredible balance you have there and a wonderful bond with your horse!

  • this is the sweetest thing i've seen all day. don't pay any attention to those negative comments! they're just trying to build themselves up by putting you down. you and your pony are wonderful and obviously share trust and respect.

  • @chrisvpena Thank you so much:) I love this pony a lot, an i know its not technically natural horsemanship but thats why the title is what it is:)) Thank you for being supportive <3

  • @1horse4me is the song by ryan cabrera? sounds like him.

  • @chrisvpena Um, I think it's Secondhand Serenade, but im not 100% sure:P

  • @1horse4me Your Guardian Angel by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

  • @chrisvpena Its by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus :)

  • Sweetheart, I can do this no problem. that's not naturalhorsemanship. its just getting your horse to trust you. Ive dont this plenty of times bareback and a meter high. Its not hard

  • @kaityluvs1 from what i gather that is the basis of natural horsemanship-trust and respect. this kid is terrific.

  • @kaityluvs1 getting a horse to trust you IS true natural horsemanship (not today's crap but what was used hundreds of years ago by native americans) I use native american methods from way back when today still and my horses trust me better then horses I've seen handled since birth by the same person. 'natural' horsemanship just implies deep trust and a bond between horse and rider.

  • Pretty horse. Looks like y'all both had fun :)

  • Great horsemaneship talent! But there is another really cool thing you could try that involves horsemanship. Try to see if you could get 2 lunging whips, hold the whips with the bottom facing down, then, try and see if you could guide your horse by tapping him on the shoulder with the whips in the direction you want him to go in. What it basically does is it builds more trust into the relationship of horse and rider. :)

  • You could call it natural horsemanship, I call it *one fat ass pony*

But he's adorable none the less.

  • There is nothing wrong with riding, jumping, etc. bareback. 300 years ago, Native Americans did it there whole lives. Their horses and horsemanship was admired.

  • I dont understand how this would honestly be called Natural Horsemanship at all. dont get me wrong, it looks nice and your horse seems comfortable and youhave a good seat. but many people who are FAR from natural horsemanship people do this. this video doesnt give people a real clue about natural horsemanship. nice video though :) your horse is cute

  • He's a fat little thing. lol Very cute though!

  • Luv the vid

  • good job :)

  • We used to do this 40 years ago at Pony Club so not sure I would classify it as natural horsemanship. It is , however, great for your balance and position and won't do your pony any harm at all. You are clearly having great fun together.

  • If this is natural horsemanship then the pony club invented it, as it's just what we used to do 40 years ago. Great fun - and we did it with all our ponies and they all survived to ignore all the nonsense about hurting their backs. You can see that the pony is loving it. Good for you.

  • @1horse4me ok, its your horse, i wont risk it

  • well , this isnt REALLY full natural horsemanship, althoguh it is very good dont get me wrong! but i can see in most clips you are pulling on his halter to turn, and right before jumping :)

  • @quarter9horse thats why it say "You may call this natural horsemanship" some people do some dont .This is an older video to. over a year ago..

  • @1horse4me well easy i was just saying...

  • @quarter9horse

And it's not a natural halter, this is one of the most important thing in Natural HorseManShip..

  • @1horse4me once in a while it indeed isn't but when you do this very often it can cause some serious back problems after a while, for example :

    a sore back

dipping, flinching, violent tail swishing when grooming the back

    stiffness on one rein

    unlevelness or unevenness of steps

    reluctance to jump

    crookedness

bucking, rearing, not wanting saddle on, refusing to stand still when being mounted.

    etc. ;-)

once again if you dont do this really often it wont matter, and i really admire your balance

  • @lissisanne This pony is almost 8 and has been ridden and jumped bareback since he was saddle broke. He still has no problems.

  • @lissisanne If you do it right and move with the horse, you wont hurt the horse. If you bounce around on their backs and slam on their backs when jumping, then yeah. That happens a lot when people use the mane; they pull themselves up with the mane and then just drop onto the horse's back when done jumping. This rider shows great balance and movement with the horse by jumping without relying on arms/hands to hold themselves up.

  • looks very nice! Only always remember that this kind of jumping (without a sadle) is quite bad for his back bacause you can't stant in the stirrups while jumping. So you shouldnt do this to much(sorry if i didn't spell it the right way).

  • @lissisanne actually its not bad for the horses back at all. This was from a while go some my posistion wasn't that great. Jmping without a saddle doesn't do anything to a horses back.

  • @1horse4me It is bad for a "fine" horse's back, because you're putting the weight on the spine and we've messed with their breeding. There is a very good reason for treed saddles, they weren't invented for convenience. Yours looks fine and happy and sound though, and you've very good balance! Well done!

  • @lissisanne you shouldnt stand in your stirrups anyways..

  • @dietcokegirl118 What the hell are you talking about? Somebodies eobviously enevr had a jumping lesson...

  • @JunoLover1997 umm I do jumpers so yea I have... umm i guess somebody's never had an spelling lesson!

  • @dietcokegirl118 It's not like your's is any better.... And pardon me for have a computer with a crappy keyboard. Shut up and go get some new insults.

  • you have a great balanced seat and your horse surely enjoys the jumping.

  • Wonderful horse! Glad you posted. Loved watching you together. Very nice.
