Same issues with my 8800 GT, what i tried (and didn't fail to solve it) was Display -> Settings ->Advanced -> Troubleshoot -> and remove the Check from "Enable write combining".

Hmm. I don't have that serious problem.
It does the same exact thing but only in games.

i have same problem using a geforce fx 5200 128 mb ddr of biostar this problem is for the video has a transistor very hot and or other component in the video card

Your graphics card is overheated,the only thing you can do is buy a new graphics card.

Or a new fan and heatsink set. You can buy them from Newegg for about 20 bucks.
