  • I had one for years and always great sound BUT watch you don't catch the cable in the hinge as it tends to cu the cable.

Not right through but mine are patched up with tape.

  • These are good but look a little cheap. Didn't TayZonda use these in his "Chocolate Rain" video?!

  • koss portapro are much better.. they have much nicer sound and the bass is not annoying like he says. The koss gives you a great bass feeling and are a little cheaper.

Koss portapro is around $27 in sweden

  • Koss portapro?

  • PX100 professional sound amazing full sound for the size

  • difference between px 200 and px 100? worth gettin px 200 in ur opinion?

  • i think KPP are better.

  • this guys voice just makes me want to punch him square in the face

  • They look cheap, but their pritty good actually. I own the HD595 so I know what im talking about...

  • Had my pair about 7-8 years, used them everyday, they are great!

  • The Barry White of headphones... Strong rich bass...

  • are these good for rock and metal and do they leak sound?

  • hi there..ive just bought a new sennheiser px100 on ebay..but it doesnt come with a case, instead it comes with a leather-like pouch..and the sound is 'ok', but there is a lot of noise leaking out from the headphone..do you think ive been conned?

    ~btw, r u really from kuala lumpur?

  • @apekbudu well how do we know if you have been conned if we don't see the listing?

maybe they stated that it comes with a different case in the pre-sale terms and you just didn't realise?

Also, noise leaking is absolute with these designs of headphones (a person who complains about it when buying this product obviously does not have any common sense).

If you want to avoid noise leakage, get in-earbuds!

  • @tohey well, the first px100 ONLY comes with a plastic case, not a pouch..and it is INSIDE a seal box..so, whether it is stated or not, the plastic case SHOULD be inside it..only the second gen of px100 comes with a pouch..

regarding the noise leaking, i have had tried my friend's px100 before..and there is no such thing as noise leaking, or even if there is, it was very minimal that it is hardly detectable..and it is approved by my friend who has it..

  • @tohey and one more thing..i have make a research on the web, and there are plenty of blog/website/forum that discussed on this matter..some even put pictures of both fake and genuine px100 from every aspect (they even remove the earpad to show the diff between both) for comparison..

and ur conscience is more than enough to tell u whether something is a fake or not.....

  • These or Koss Porta Pros?

  • i bought a pair of sony MDR-XD100 for cheaper and they were 10x better lol.

and to top it off they warmed my ears when it's cold lol

i've got the white version of these and they're not comfortable at all.

  • JUST OK

  • the look fragile, does the bending thing break?

  • Are these better than the JVC freestyle?

  • DEFINATLY!!!

  • anybody have these and the portapros? how do they match up?

  • frm what i have hear they are very similar. I have also heard that the portapro has a very strong bass. (some say annoying)

  • i have both, the pxs are a bit lighter and more comfortable, they have different sound signatures but both of the are good in their own way. koss have a warmer sound. but the new PX 100 II is very very good.

  • thanks man, I had a hard time getting them in the case then realized i still had them to the size of my head...LOL

  • $40? there's almost $80 here in Canada

  • @VidN00b The PX100-II (the revised model) are $65 on NCIX.

  • @evildwarf i wonder if those are better than the first gen

  • @phuphroo Some say yes, others say no. The general consensus is that the bass drowns everything out. For that price, I'd go for a pair of Grado SR-60i headphones.

  • @evildwarf are these any good to wear in the gym or joggin?

  • @xfya Naw. For that purpose, you should probably use in-ears monitors. They take up less space, will not fall out of your ears and they will block out outside noise. However, they should be worn with the wire going around the ear in order to avoid mechanical noise from the cord rubbing against your clothes.

  • i dunno why everyones complaining they got 2 year warranty

  • Warning to possible buyers: You have to be REALLY careful with these headphones. I've had cord malfunctions on two different pairs of these headphones (PX100).

Each time I'd only had them about a year before they broke. They have great sound quality, but they won't last if you plan on using them daily.

  • hey! mine broken recently..the wire has slipped outta d jack plug n broken too! :(

nobody's ready to repair it.wt shud i do?

  • Sorry, I never got mine fixed.

I was thinking of bringing mine to a repair place, as well. Either keep looking for someone who will fix them, or buy new ones. Don't really know what else to tell you. Try fixing them yourself, maybe?

  • thanks for showing how to put them back into the case!

  • Just bought a pair of these and from the second i picked a song all i could think was "wow"

Seriously a great little pair of headphones, and for the price they go at, you cant go wrong.

  • my px 100's right side has more treble or more highs than the left side. it that a product defect, should i return it to the store for the warranty?

    ..or is that normal?

  • Try putting these on inversely, if the same ear, go wash your ears.

  • I had bought a pair of these after my old bass enhanced cheap walgreens coby's broke.I noticed that the bass quality didnt seem as good as my cheaper phones, so i asked some coworkers to do a blind fold test(not really blindfolded just eyes closed) No one had ever listened to my headphones before and i was somewhat surprised that out of 5 people 4 picked the cheaper headset that i taped and glued back together. I payed 4 dollars for the coby's and had them for nearly 2 years.

  • i bought a pair of these crappy cx-100s from a major retail store, was hugely dissapointed.they sound as cheap as my included sony mp3 player earphones!! bass was even thinner and harsher..so i refund them the next day.i can't believe some people admiring them.they are no good.

  • I'm Thinking About Getting These!

  • I have the Sennheiser Px100 & they are great sounding "portable" headphones. The sound is warm & natural. And they are so comfortable to wear you really don't know you have 'em on. They are extremely comfortable. They are almost identical in sound quality to the Porta Pros from what i read but the Porta Pros have a little more bass.

  • doeslots of sound escape the headphones?

  • the more you fold them up and put them in the case the faster you get at it. I can fold them and case em in under a minute. These headphones kick ass by the way, best ones I have ever owned and I have been through alot of headphones. I listen to classic rock and let me telll you, the bass coming out of these headphones is BADass

  • i found the porta pros more comfertable and they stay on better when i dance around...

  • just bought a week ago, and it's awesome worth for the money

  • i ordered px 200

  • Ugh, the ipod earbuds, the worst headphones you'll ever use.

  • oh no i have bought doller store headphones those are shit

  • they are much better than ones you could find for under $15

  • @Vagoo77 earbod are earbuds. not headphones. if earbods are "headphones", they're NOT EARBUDS. and anyway, ipod earphones are not earbuds.

  • Great sounding headphones, i have the white ones!

  • selling a pair on ebay soon starting at 9$ brand new!

  • cool I can't wait to get mine next week. I got the black ones

  • the portapros, of course

  • i have a pair of Portapros, and IMHO they are much better quality headphones, and they store smaller

  • Which ones are better?...the porta pros or the px100s?

  • px100s have a fuller warmer sound i consider porta pros terrible headphones

  • fuck u

  • fuck u, fanboy

  • terrible in what way? the sound quality of the px100 and the portapros are nearly equal.

  • i think the px100 are way better the portapro's have random freqeuncy peaks which ruin music + they have zero bass which is the most important sound in music

  • thats funny, cuz I heard that the porta pros have better bass than the px100s. haven't tried the px100s out yet to know for sure, but ive read many reviews that the porta pros have strong bass (and i have them so i can say that they do)

  • this guy is dumber than rocks, porta pros were made for bassy people, I dont like bass but I think my sporta pros are just perfect. I love them. The last seinheisser product I bought was absolutely rubbish, they were earbuds forgot the name. But they were crap. My next headphones are going to be Grado SRi-80

  • if u actually did any research u would know that the bass on the portapros is way stronger than the px100. and no, there arent any "random frequency peaks".

  • i dont need other people telling me i heard both of them i dont sit at home on my computer and judge them on what research has said i trust my own

and besides they are both mediocre

    go buy some real heaphones

  • wow mediocre? just when i thought you couldn't get any stupider. i dont know if you understand the concept of "great headphones for a low price", but that often means that they offer good sound quality for the price that they are at. and when i say research, i mean looking at what normal people review on amazon, not an official review like one on cnet. many people make comments about the portapro having alot of bass, sometimes even saying that its overwhelming.

  • the are medicore ask any one who listens to real audio you can only get so much for a low price and you can easily get a pair of grado sr60 headphones for the same price and they sound so much better than these headphones

amazon wow i could go to that review right now and say that the headphones were shit and you would like that i owned them. if you think that bass is overwhelming you obv havent heard real bass

  • the portapros arent meant to be used for professional audio retard, theyre meant for portable mp3 players, which dont offer good quality sound in the first place, so stop asking for so much from them. and if u actually would read my comment i said that some people thought the bass was overwhelming, i was not speaking what i thought. i believe the bass is good, not great. definately not mediocre. if you are asking for high definition headphones dont use the portapros, go with the high end ones.

  • portable mp3 players actually do offer good sound if you buy the right one.. dont buy an apple ipod

mp3 players do sound good its just what file type you use and what headphones you use. i ask alot from the porta p.o.s? they cant do a simple task of proper stereo seperation and a decent soundstage which my 40$ vmoda bass freq can do better and they have no midrange. the kid i knew who had porta p.o.s changed them with skullcandies and those suck, he said they sounded way better.

  • then that kid obviously needed to get his ears checked, because skull candy headphones are by far the worst you can get. ive had bass freqs too, and i agree, they do give great bass, but all the other sounds it gives besides the bass are not too good. thats why i pair the porta pros with the bass freqs so that when i change to a non bass heavy song i can still get good sound out of it. and i have been using the sansa clip, which is known for its good sound (it can play FLAC)

  • ive heard the sansa clip is good for sound but i use my zune

i have it play my wav files

  • px100s are just warmer but not better than the porta pros

  • The PX100s may look kind of flimsy, but they're extremely well built. I noticed this while taking a pair apart.

I don't think the portapros store smaller, the PX100s are much flatter and fit in your pocket much more easily, unless you use that plastic case, which I don't.

However both are great portable headphones, and are you can't go wrong with either.

  • what are you talking about!?????

  • I've been debating whether to get these or the PortaPros. The Sennheisers are cooler looking than the PortaPros, but I've heard their cord isn't very durable. Is your cord holding out ok?

  • the cord is holding up great!! and everything about them seems to be excilent!

  • I've been through 8 earbuds this year, most have broken on the cord, or the 3.5mm jack. I'm really digging these because of case protection. No more unplugging and wrapping! I always felt that damaged the headphones, but was the best way at the time.

  • my cord did have issues but thats due to a ittle of a beating that the jack took. So long as you dont get the cord stuck underneath something and try to pull it out then it shouldnt have any problems.

  • Great review. 5/5

  • thanks!

  • Very nicely done. They look great. Have you any experience with the Bose Sine wave reversing (noise canceling) phones? 5 stars.

  • No sorry, i dont have any experience with those. But thanks for watching!!!

  • great headphones, but portapros are better

  • YA i was thinking weather or not i should get the portapros, but i decided to get the px100s because the had a nice carying case, so they wouldnt get squished.

  • portapros come with a quarter inch adapter and a fine carrying case, a lot smaller than the px100's case

  • koss= shitty name in electronics sen's= perfect name in electronics. porta pros are well made but ive been scard by koss too many times and i went with px100 ( they fit on my head amazing and stay on like crazy!!.

  • Koss is a great name in headphones, you have no clue what you're talking about.

Though I would say the PX100's top the PortaPros, definitely.

  • Most people would agree that the px100 are many times better than the PortaPro. The latter will drown the sound details with its bass, the px100 are clear all over the scale even if the song has a lot of bass.

  • how much them fuckers cost

  • They are about $40

  • xD koolieo

  • Another great review mate,nice one,5*
