  • If that instructor was one or two shades darker, he could pass for Wesley Snipes. Looks alot like him.

  • A slip bags bottom should be at your chin level because that's where your opponent will generally target. The idea is to maintain a balance that would allow u to counterpunch properly after you slip your opponents shots. Paul Williams doesn't put himself in position to counterpunch at all while using the slip bag which is sort of silly because fighting tall would seem to offer him a better defense.

  • Thank you for the Comment. I'm gonna throw up a more advanced slip ball drill that i think will be impressive.

  • For another way to do this, watch Paul Williams slips the Maize Ball ( slip bag Ringside sells) that's another way. The way you're teaching the fighter is good for an inside fighter, who wants to throw hooks to the body. IMAO, I think this is too much for a jab, but I admire you're courage to put a video up on Youtube. There's always hyper-critical people out there. Keep training...

  • Looks like a left and right "bob" to me???

  • Thanks I will put up a video this week with more advances techniques, is there anything you were inquiring about? Please like my video.

  • that was good.post more more advanced drills.

  • Your forehead is strange.

  • Get your feet work right first before slipping, he's way to square on and his balance is off center.

  • you do it with your shoulder

  • @oilforjesus

    Thanks for the clarification

  • not understanding the concept of how his leg is bent on the slip,it would take time and to many moves ti throw a right or a left,i done some training with a friend who trained wirh kevin rooney, and the legs were kept firm to pivot for better leverage, but hey, good video friend, not critising you, just one coach from another exchanging views, keep up the good work, and keep the cowboys and internet warriors out.thanks from scotland.

  • How am I supposed to know you live in the united states of wankers?

Go eat a dick and flirt with some other single dude with no life

Ha ha ha Yankee doodle faggot

  • @tehweezy

I have a life mate.... Better things to be doing with it.

Feel free to come up to Broad Street ABC (in Shadwell, E London) and ask for Jay. Or I'll be up The Troxy (again in E London) this Friday.

My next fight is Mar 2012, buy a ticket and come watch if it means that much to ya

Hope that answers your questions boy

  • @rudebwoy8 I live in USA, big man. show some videos of you boxing, dont tell me to talk to someone in a whole different country LOL you must have some inferiority issues to think that boy and kid will offend me. why do you keep private messaging me too? thanks for proving yourself, big man. keep criticizing real boxers, couch professional.

  • @tehweezy

As I dont know what an Internet pro boxer is I can't answer your question. Sorry boy.

Yeh I box, trained by an ex amateur who was no. 2 in England.

My opinion is exactly that, if you don't agree I aint gonna lose any sleep.

    Be lucky chief...

  • @rudebwoy8 Im sure you do know what an internet pro boxer is, "chief". Okay so whats your name and post up some videos of you boxing to back your bullshit up. Or are we going to type on youtube about how much you know and how great you are?

  • This is merely a drill, not meant to be the only thing to do to get better at slipping punches, losers.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I'd like to see him train on my robot arms. Something that deals with more realistic speeds. At least the slip ball helps with a defensive move, and the double end bag comes back at you somewhat, but besides real punches, is this all there is to train with in our "modern world?" It just seems like boxing stays old fashion and boxers are happy with that. I just wished reaction times where looked into more. That's all.

  • @rbt4rbt This this more of a drill that focuses on technique not speed or power. It's like training at Tai Chi speed to improve your Kung Fu. For speed I would use a reflex ball or a partner. Cool Robot by the way.

  • @sanchezsalvia1 thanks. To a point I could see what you're saying, but I know I see pro and ameteur fighters get hit time after time with fast jabs they should be stopping. Even the fastest being 170 ms, should be stopped. A sparring partner does not teach reaction times but it does teach body language. The robot arms teach reaction times, but not body language. When I started with the robot arms, I couldn't stop 200 ms, now can do down to 140 ms due to much practice. Just saying it helped me.

  • @rbt4rbt what is robot arms? i'm new to boxing training.

  • @jellybean2626 If you go to my channel, you can see the robot arms in various videos. The arms have helped my reaction times and blocking skills a ton. Never in history has such a great training tool been available before. If fighters want to stay with old technique, so be it. For me, I'm moving on with what I see is MUCH better.

  • nice work, and NICE gym

  • front good

    back good

  • a big tall guy like that isnt going to slip that low.

  • the slip bag is too low.

  • moving like a grandmother clock pendant. whilst your slightly crouched leg should bring you up again. But people have different styles..iv just studied mike alot. keep up the good work

  • No there is nothing wrong with going down too far. Slipping and head movement is about emphasizing your head movement. However, i do think he is slipping wrong. instead of moving your legs which just moves your body, you need to sway from side to side whilst having your hands peekaboo and chin down eyes looking up. your legs should be slightly wide apart, but with the left slightly in front and your knees slightly bent. Your hips should be doing the work, your upper body and head should be

  • he's too squared up, he needs to protect that belly or else its not gunna look good in the ring

  • Are there any substitute equipment for this

  • haha, your a better teacher than the one i had. My 2nd day of training he put me under that thing and just let it swing randomly and wanted me to mix in cmbinations as well. I didn't know alot of combinations so I just did 1,2,3 repeatedly lol

  • @mrostos maybe he wanted u to get use to it first and yeah thats the way u do it throw combinations right after u move its called counter punching

  • Man slim looks like a robot, waaaay to stiff. And yes he's slipping waaaay too far. I call it how I c it.

  • Thanks for the comment think about sweat pea pernell Whitaker he broke the rules of the slip. I think the slip ball is mostly about timing. But it is true that if you move to far it's, hard to counter and yes it is low for the lanky bugger lol. I learned to slip in this fashion, but I'm always open to contructive criticism. Thank you.

  • this isnt the correct way to use the slip ball, the guys head is moving far too much to the side, the point is to keep moving your head constantly to get the body to react without thinking about a punch coming check mike tyson slip ball training thats how to use a slip ball, plus the slip ball is far to low for the lanky bugger

  • Yo thanks for the tip on how to train on a slib bag bro. Ima go make one right now and start training tomorrow right after i get home from school.

  • Thanks for the comment.

  • He seems like hes standing too square to the opponent'

  • this guy looks like wesly snipes

  • Good Point, but my slip is actually a set up for a rear upper cut in which I use in my fights. In my next video i will implement the punches in my video this is very basic movement once i we get the concept down then we advance in speed and complexity.

  • Too much movement there.

Slipping needs to be as minimal movement ad possible without getting hit. Moving that far from the oncoming punch will not only fatigue the fighter, but also leave him too far away to counter.

Also if you're gonna work the slip bag for him you need to alternate the timing and pace of the release. You don't get real punches coming at you at steady, smooth strokes.

  • @rudebwoy8 Are you a internet pro boxer lol Do you box, ever boxed or plan on boxing? Or are you just a sit on the couch and watch it kind of guy?
