@label1177 In most rallies, you're supposed to give way to a faster car behind you and not hold them up. The event is a race against the clock NOT other cars on the road.

I'm guessing they disconnected the speedo so it wasn't a distraction. Either that or it's got broken somewhere along the way...

Why would you have to use the speedo? you should be going as fast as the car can handle and not come of the track. when it starts to get twitchy then you are at the limit. And that will be different for each driver. Just because i go around that corner at 120 doesn't mean you could go around that corner at 120mph. So looking at the speedo is for gamers not drivers.,

It's not that it doesn't work - In several race / rally cars they disconnect the speedo for various reasons. Whilst I don't know the exact reasons WHY - This is what I have observed. On the other hand I've noticed that some rally drivers actually use specially made rally speedo / odometers as well - So It doesn't appear to be an official rule or anything like that. But you were very observant for noticing this.
