I just got one of these kits not long ago and I think they are pretty awesome! Although, they didnt hatch in a flash, it took more like 3-4 days. I was so excited about them finally hatching that I made a short video about it with my lil dog Suzie (part of the Suzie Adventures). The Sea-monkeys are great actors lol.

those tanks are horribly small for any form of animal.

Dont worry, in normal conditions, they only need 2cc per animal. So you can easily fit 100 in that tank... and the average amount per kit is less than a dozen... so they're very happy to have a LOT of space for themselves. :)

I dont like the idea of that wrist thing that you can see at 0:13, think if 6 year olds have it and they take it out then they have a tantrum and shake theyre hands about, think of the sea monkeys or imagine if they knocked it on something by accident and it opened, they would all fall out and die.

It never happened to my and my 5 kids. These "wrist thing" are very hardy (and the sea-monkeys itself). It show somehow responsibility to your kids. If you're responsible enough to walk your pet on a leash, I dont see why "walking" a fish pet in a portable aquarium is different.

How long do they live?

It depends on water/air quality in your home, mostly. My experience is that they can live for a year if you dont forget to feed them, always use bottled water when replacing evaporated water, give them plenty of indirect sunlight, and never use sprays, smokes or sneeze near them when you're cold. :)
