I drove both, the DSG is faster, and also 1-2 mpg's better. I prefer the manual 5 speed though, its more fun.

you the one the should do some research before it making you look like an ass... the DSG gear box changing gear in 0.2 seconds... if you can do better on manual.. BRAVO ! For those who like the control and driving high speed in low gear... you always the sport mode to do that for you, and you always have the Manual Mode ! The DSG got better gas mileage, faster accelerations, more comfort. and seriously, do race some body every time you drive to work ? stop warring about the power delivery !

One starts reading comments before post and sees a war going on....well, dsg is so much quicker than manual, i had to put down gears because of a jam, i was speeding down the road and clik click clik 3rd gear, reduced speed very easely. Manual speed along with damaging my expensive shoes, makes driving a overload work. F1 style gear is much better. I think is like driving F1 2010 in PS3.

Stop arguing over 2 door vs 4 door and DSG vs Manual. From my personal standpoint, I'd prefer a 2dr with the manual transmission. I don't have a family, and stop and go traffic isn't an issue.

A 30 year old business man starting a family who lives in the middle of a metroplis would probably prefer a DSG with 4 doors.

@SirMM3 This one is Deep Black. Canada gets 4 colors (Red, Black, White, and Carbon), US gets 6 (those 4, and add United Gray, and Shadow Blue) and the UK gets the same along with a non pearl black.

How is that colour called in Europe?. I think it´s only available in 4 colours: Candy white, Twister red, deep black pearl effect and carbon steel. I guess that one is carbon steel, but I´ve seen in some videos 2 or 3 differents types of grey. This is the best, nearly black and very brilliant. Amazing.

@OHara006 What you drive? SHOCK! HORROR! I've got both. Manual's let you keep the car in the 'power band', which will give you better control over the power going to the wheels. At low speeds, being able to keep the car in a higher gear can also help in not spinning out or breaking loose. Automatics are fast if geared properly and driven properly. For a plain level drag race, auto will win. It's harder to drive a auto as fast as a manual, in any other race, due yo the lack of control your have.
