I saw a 93 2500 suburban with the same 454 as my parents doomed for the C4C and I told the dealer that the engine in it has excellent longevity as my parents origional 454 has 440K on it and still running. this one only had 139K on it "Still effen new!" The dealer claimed that one was traded for a prius. Few weeks later it was gone but a prius was in its place Turned out the POs had a bad prius and demanded their chevy back.

@95silverado and that is not a good thing since an engine that is too tight will need a better oiling system since they will burn out and spin bearings much faster when pushed. It has happend many times in truck and tractor pulling here, LOTS of spun bearings and broken rods in small block Chevy's running high rpm.
I would rather have that old chevy, it would have lasted longer than my work truck. 08 F-150 the transmission blew twice before 80,000 miles and now the transfer case is falling apart. The Mercury Grand Marquis is the last real car still in production. V8, Body on Frame, & rear wheel drive. If that ends production we are left with small unibody cereal box cars.

@95silverado yeah nice excuse. We tractor pull and build high performance engines for them. We have 5, three with Ford engines, one with a Pontiac and one with a Chevy. The 383 and 454 Chevy were built by a machine shop and both blew up the first season probably due to tight clearance and poor oiling system. The 460, 427 Windsor and 2 351's have never had a problem after 4 seasons, the same goes for the Pontiac 400. If Chevy uses tight clearances then they will get hotter and wear faster.
Any Chevy bought after the bailout ain't a true Chevy. I stopped buying them anyway after they stopped selling trucks with the 350. It's a shame what this country and the auto industry is coming to.

@95silverado and that is not a good thing since an engine that is too tight will need a better oiling system since they will burn out and spin bearings much faster when pushed. It has happend many times in truck and tractor pulling here, LOTS of spun bearings and broken rods in small block Chevy's running high rpm.

products, mostly Chevy and Buick, and got well over 200k miles of trouble free
service. The one Ford I had, a 1986 F150 with the 351 H.O. motor. It started burning oil
around 60K miles. Got the engine rebuilt, and the transmission a C6 took a shit about
5 thousand miles later. That was enough for me. If GM stops building cars and trucks,
I will buy Toyota.

I would rather have that old chevy, it would have lasted longer than my work truck. 08 F-150 the transmission blew twice before 80,000 miles and now the transfer case is falling apart. @1997FordProbeGT its called crumple zones, every vehicle haa them, and i have seen dodges and chevys just as bad or worse after an accident. in fact i saw one where a ford f250 super duty went head on into a 1ton chevy was not able to drive away the ford was questionable but didn't look near as bad but also ford has the safest vehicles compared to chevy. my roommate rolled his 04 gt mustang at 70mph and he walked away with just a sore back and the other guy inthe car got a cut on his hand.

i actuall have not had a single problem with any of the fords i have driven, but every GM vehicle i have owned were all nightmares, they were in the shop one week and as soon as i get it out it would be back in the shop the following week. plus i think this video may prove chevys do suck. i came across a video on here for the cash for clunkers and the chevy only lasted 20seconds before the motor blew but yet every ford vid you see for cash 4 clunkers they last several minutes before they blow

dude i had a chevy with chevys best motor the 350 small block...had for two weeks and it was a brand new motor...got a ford with the triton v8 and i still have after about 5 years no break downs no nothing... and u tell me that fords suck...and also does ford have the most recalls on there vehicle and almost went out of business when the stock market crashed and ford did not file a bankrupcy chevy did because their vehicles will not sell cuz most people bought fords or dodges....................

@95silverado yeah nice excuse. We tractor pull and build high performance engines for them. We have 5, three with Ford engines, one with a Pontiac and one with a Chevy. The 383 and 454 Chevy were built by a machine shop and both blew up the first season probably due to tight clearance and poor oiling system. The 460, 427 Windsor and 2 351's have never had a problem after 4 seasons, the same goes for the Pontiac 400. If Chevy uses tight clearances then they will get hotter and wear faster.
