why in the world, people seem to compare someone with someone? can't just they sit and listen and meditate, reflect what's the meaning of the song....anyway, it's not the singer that we want to hear, it's the content of the song...peace....

yeah this must have been recorded early on in her career because the vocals dont compare to Martina's vocals currently. i agree also, i love Carrie's version the most.
Agreed. I definitely prefer Carrie's version. In my mind, that is the best version (if there is a better one, I haven't heard it). Honestly, I expect much more from Martina (this was pretty weak)

Early Martina or not, her voice is still strong here and she can hold those notes better than anybody. This is my favorite version by far.

Well Martina's voice has become much more powerful and clear since this was recorded. If I'm not mistaken, this was recorded early in her career.
