4th gen maxima's are one of the most under rated cars of all time. 0-60 is about 7 seconds stock. which is crazy as it is.

I have a 02 Max with 6 speed with headers, catback, intake, spacers, tune UTEC....I love it. BUT a built ALL MOTOR civic engine will kill the max.......those engines are just ignorant. I love my MAx.....but I also respect the Honda engine....remember they are RACE car engines.....most civic riceheads just put body kits, CAI and catback on...just make lots of noise.....but if I knew a civic had a built motor, pistons, rods, etc.....no way! They are too light and too powerful.

@ranmas2004 i agree... k20a in a bubble hatch with all bolt ons and a tune will run with a 5.5 gen bolt on max. i love my 4th gen but i really like proper civics with some serious N/A engine work, they rev so high and vtec crossover sounds soo good with after market cams

@carsnwomen91 i want to copy and paste this comment everywhere. hah totally agreed. i love my 5.5 gen but if i had to switch to anything it would deff be a very cleanly jdm stylized civic (most any body style) with a tuned out, N/A, K-series :) both will always make me happy and punk out any ricer wannabe in a quick race lol

lol my civic will kill that max i owned a 350z also and its fast from a stock stand point but trying to match a track ready street driven civic not gonna happen most the the civic punks you race have no resources to make a fast civic or they spend it on flashy body kits lol and dont forget the space wing and stickers to add the hp.

@MRBILLCOSBY72 Gutta have a JDM sticker or els your civic isnt legit...lol i have only seen one or two civics where the owner cared about performance. the rest are rusted busted primered but at least they have an ugly spoiler and holes in their bumper. I would rather upgrade a car thats already fast to start with

mine is all rusted up and busted, but the engine runs super strong, its funny when some retarded in his civic tries to race me in mine, i just floor the maxima and its gone

@audiocable thats how my car was. rusted to hell. car came from maine. rocker panels has rust holes. thats why when the rod went thru the block i got another car insted of just replacing the motor

@johnnyramma yeah. my rear bolts were rusted on so and those wheels with that drop rubbed a hole in my hood release cable so i had to break my grill to get to the latch to pop the hood

yea i know that now (damn) but i already paid for the 99 motor. if i wouldve known that i wouldve definetly gotten it. but what if i get a cam out of a 3.5 and have it put in? how much power do u think i could gain? also how would it effect MPG and reliability? i only ask about those two cuz im in high school and im payin for all this myself

was way to tight on cash.. but i'm better now, i'm either going to get another one probably a 99 and swap it, OR i'll get a 05sti - i'm soooo partial to maximas though just beacuse they feel soo good driving and they're strong as fuck... i dogged mine daily and the only probblem i had was clutch problems

same here bro. i launch mine like that multiple times a day. got my codes pull and it said all 3 o2s were bad. then i took the Z wheels off and got them pulled again and it was only a Cam Position Sensor. but now i need to get a clutch installed. one in it now is toast
