  • Hey dave, wheres the first video

  • Hey Dave where did you have the tutorial videos for how to set up flaperons, spoilerons, v-tail etc. because i can't find it on your channel!:(

    Thank you!)

  • Hey i was looking for servo videos and i was wonder were i could get a few? Im trying to build a rc Helicopter and need a few for main and tail rotor pitch THX

  • am from india.the greatest fan of u.you are really genius, and my pleasure to tell that ur really really handsome.thanks for ur lessons n tips on rc planes.i love u bro.....my wishes.

  • i can only get 3,5 or 10mm depron in my area so which would you recommend

  • @1234adamdoyle i do not make airplanes but i would say the 5mm since it is closest to 6 mm

  • TWSS nice and thick nice and strong

  • hey i am going to build a plane with your info but i havent built a plane before so how do i setup a servo meaning how do i setup the servo wires and what do i connect the wires to because i dont want to start my f18 and it just blows up or somethink like that

  • Dave, your videos are the most helpless videos I ever seen! you guys are awesome!

  • I like you because you are a good teacher

  • I have a small rc car, very low cost. I want to move my puppets eyes with the front wheels. However the motor is to noisy. Is there a way to replace the motor with a servo?

  • how to give power to the servos? can u send me a mail telling how to do that at kalvik009@yahoo.com

  • @kalvik007 Servo's are connected to your receiver and your battery is connected to your speed controller (ESC) therefore that would give power to your motor and servo's.

  • Just started flying with a trainer plane and your videos are very helpful. Thanx!

  • Where can I purchase all the components required to make an rc plane, and how do I know what type of servos or engines I need? Thanks in advance.

  • where can i find all these foams carbon rod and the radio installations

in India? as these online shoppes are expensive and plus the customs which will be charged when taken to India

  • DONT TASE ME BRO!!!!

  • does one servo control one control surface or can you use one to control multiple surfaces? i.e 1 servo controls both ailerons

  • where would I be without you Dave xD

  • How many servos do you need for beginner plane?

  • @SayamPatel356 :

    2-channel planes: 2: rudder & elevator;

    3-channel planes: 3: rudder & elevator & ailerons;

it s up to you how many servos you need!!!

  • very nice

  • hey can you make a video of how the motor, speed control and receiver all go together?

  • hi, sir,

i like your prograam alot, its sooooo helpfull,

    i like to thank you,

i stay in europe, and here we dont have that kind of stuff,

do you ever have a tour in europe?!

    thank you,

    mike

  • where can i get the electronics, rods, and carbon tubes and for how much

  • 4 people are gas guys

  • nice video man i wanna try

  • can u do a video on how to install pushrods on the f1 hydro 150%

  • can you tell me which engine and receiver- you have used ??

  • you can buy the prebuilt pushrods at your lhs they are made by pkz and they are approx. 3 dollars for a pack

  • haha what a noob why would you say they like all the weight near the center of gravity? That's why its the center of gravity! it's where the weight is distributed from! no need to double talk. some do like it spread out more for heavy hovering, though.

  • its my first selfmade plane and i hade some problems with it .

    but now not more !!!

thx again & greetings from germany

  • @RESPECKT1974 how do u make bothe elevators move with one servos?

  • @baeronautics

why with a servo ? I had problems with the setting of the servos . were of different lengths

  • how can i find the radio system becoz i am in pakistan

i love your videos on youtube

  • @selfishabdullah you could order it online because u wont get that stuff in pakistan

  • how can i find the radio system becoz i am in pakistan

  • hello dave, surely with all that glue and tape, it gets heavier and harder to fly, please respond to thos in your next great video, i would love to be on the web :) thanks alot!

  • Dude, you rock!

  • Hey Dave... Awesome videos, thank you so much... I was hoping to find something like this either in a book or online. I just got a TX from a buddy who stopped flying, it is the Futaba T7C 7channel radio... my question is, what servos would you recommend, what speed controller and can I use it for these foamies and program it for them as well... he gave me the RX (receiver) but no servos and not sure if all servos are can work with different radios.

    Thank you

    Dave

  • hey you guys should make a powerless glider biplane (i havent seen an rc one ever before LOL)

  • What will happen if engine is higher than the fuselage and how am i gonna fix it

  • Thanks whizzkid :D

  • this video solved 3 problems for me =D

    thank you, youre awesome

  • Im building a rc plane at the moment and this is very helpful thnx!

  • Wonderful video, so much information! Thanks so much for the upload!

  • Great videos Dave, people should start with foam and learn what's going on. you will save yourself lots of money, if you start going gas/ nitro and balsa. trust me, nothing makes you feel worse when it argers in, on it's the first flight! You are training your fingers, mind and vision. to be ahead of the plane all the time.

  • Do you live in LA?

    By Thejuanman48

  • what do you use for your push rod the metal is what and where can i find it and is it carbon tube you have at 6:32 thanks

  • hi..i wanna make my own plane out of fom.. what would be the best design and what kind of fom should i use with what motor..and all those things ..i want to make a normal plane which flies nice but not too slow. what .i noticed one thing in some planes that the ratio between the wingspan and the fuselage length is not more than 1.3 .....is it right ..please please please reply fast...as soon as possible

  • Erm sorry to be a pain but can these fly in windy conditions or how can I mod it to fly in wind (I live near the sea)

  • Well it's great but do you distribute the parts on your website ? If not where can I get them for the least amount of money

  • can i have one of your air planes?

  • Hey Dave, Could you help me how to put the servos on the wings part please? I do not know where should I put it. So please help. thank you

  • The ugly side is at the botom but thats what you mostly see when flying. ;)

  • I Have A Question : Is There An Alternative To Carbon Rod I Almost Killed Myself Recording A Project (Never Uploaded) And Dont Wanna Cheat Death Again LOL

  • Question for you.. with transmitters now being able to be programmed for throw/rate and endpoints, should we always just set the physical horn and arms in the middle and let the transmitter do the fine tuning? in your example you move the pushrod to the closest hole to make it not move as much. Should middle of the road be used for actual servo arm / control horn settings and let transmitter do the rest?

  • umm you said HOPE THAT THAT WAS HELPLESS

  • whel he is being sarcastic because he is a funny huy hehe =))

  • @romyellasilvafamily Hahahahaha! yes he does, but it was HELPFULL :)

  • @romyellasilvafamily It's a classic RCPowers Joke....

  • me too the same question

but i want to make a plane very cheap which foam i most use and this is perfecht i can setup the servo arms by myself but where you can buy cheap foam and cheap electronics

  • did you call me a "gas guy"?

i am deeply offended. i only use premium nitro fuel.

hey i may be only 15 but my nitro planes are better!

    (no offense)

  • Of course they're better. SOme cheap battery rotor engine vs some massive thing that could actually explode and uses real gas? Come on now. But for my future build I'm planning to use one gas and then have the rest be brushless outrunners...I need some advice and have lots of questions if you have experience with gas/

  • @PAWNB3YOND i have tons of experience. pm me.

  • I see what you mean, Gas is more fun and is quicker to "refuel" than charge your batteries, I just prefer electric because I don't like tuning motors and I'm not very mechanicly savy, Im good with electronics though so I just went electric. I still want a big nitro plane though. No arguments, its just a matter of preference.

  • Nice Video!!!!!!!

How to assemble Servo, Motor, Fan, Receiver how to increase my existing radio range.

  • is there any instruction on how to put together the actual foam airplane??i need help with this part of my build.you know the wings and such.

  • thanks bro you so smart

  • hei dave. v useful videos. wat if carbon tubing is not available.

  • did you say '' hope this was hopeless''

  • can you list all the things that is need to do it?

  • This is MESSY setup haha :D

  • how much does it cost to make a plane

  • same qeustion

  • I have been watching your various videos for a while now and thats the reason i registered with youtube, great job, keep it up.

  • I love ALL of your plane vids.

  • Hey thanks a lot for your videos... They are the most helpful vdo I see so far...thanks again...

  • hello Dave how can i design my own

  • were can i get an extra clevisis also if they come in diferent sizes please tell me a place were i have a viriety of clevisis

  • how can i take off with wheels on my rc sea vixin and also try to put one moter in the front taht is none movabel and the back one to do the (yaa) and up and down movement k?

  • can the moder be a the thing in the side of a ps2

  • hey dave how do u put the elevator on? the same way as the aileroins? and wats the carbon rod for in the elevator?

  • How do i download this clip?

  • Hi, i was wandering, what do you think about the aerobird swift series planes in terms for beginners.

  • What motor do I need for the extra 300 built from your site?

  • brushless 3s motor. suggested, 600kv

  • Comment removed

  • Hi RC SuperPowers, I used rc radian plane first time then left it over night did not take battery out of plane, tomorrow plane is dead I can not charge battery any more the charger only beeps showing error, the battery is 11.1V, 1300mAh Li-Po battery, I assume it got drawn in the plane over night so if that happen is there any way to charge it back and why no body says if you take all power from battery you can not charge it again

  • will it still work if there are no flap things on the wings?

  • flaps??

  • if u mean will the plane fly without flaps yes, flaps are only really for scale lookz

  • for push rods could you use something like krazy glue to glue in the clevise and z bends?

  • ahaha "i hope that was helpless"

    ahahahhahahahahah

    nice vid

  • The control horn on the rear flaps of the red/blue plane had 3 holes, is there a difference with where the pushrod is mounted on them?

  • could you make it from cardboard?

  • good i made a rc plane

  • Hey dave,

I have an RC super cub.

It was my beginer plane. The styrafome is mest up but the engine and the servos work.

What would be the best model to start moving the engine over to the knew model?

    If thats possible?

I have just had a loy of free time and would love for u to reply to this.

the engine is really powerfull to and i have brand knew survose that i just got and a brand knew remote just like yours.

    hopefully i will here back!

  • if its the hobbyzone plane a brushed motor is going to do great....just go ahead and go brushless

  • Hey Dave, Thanks for all those exciting Videos. I am novice in RC planes but after watching all your videos I too want to make my own plane . I tried to buy the kit online but I am getting confused. please tell me specifically which is the best kit to start building a RC plane . I had purchased a Foam Sheet, remaining I need everything else so please tell me from where to buy this things. thanks

  • 11:12?/??hope it was helplesS???

  • helpless XD

    tight tight tight loose XD

nice vid your are a good teacher

  • From where can I get the remote control, receiver, servo, motor etc? Anyone can give some tips? Can I order it in a package? thx

  • I love you man, hot glueing everything just like me ahahahah

  • best part:

    "tight, tight, tight, loose" haha

  • great =D

    helpless.. XD

  • "i hope that was helpless"..... lol

  • tHANK yOU VERY MUCH DAVE!

  • wonder ful video, is Depron te same as "packaging" Thermofoam?

  • without this vid i would not of been able to build my first rc plane which was the

    F-117 and ime 10 years old !!!

  • Great to know you still have time to learn how to spell.

  • you're a very good teacher.

  • Very interesting video. good for a person who does not know anything about RC planes

  • awesome job dave!!

  • hey dave, what kind of servo should i use on my plane...becuase the old one thats on it rite now...is like frozen and won't move, and i dont want to fly it like that? so what brand of servo should i use, i have a 9 gram servo rite now

  • hay dave im qwite new to rc planes.. can u help me as im a comlete novice.. i need plans for the easyist plane to build and everything i need.. i have parts from an old rc car.. so i have most parts.. but not to sure were there go and how to connect as i only have a 2 channel receiver.. please could u help.. thanks joe

  • hey i need to no where u get the motor and survo and that stuff battery transmitter

  • Hey dave, I liked your video..

Could you please explain about how to find C.G and how to balance the wieghts around C.G

  • GREAT JOB

  • what were all the parts used in this video, so what do you all need? Please Help!!!!

  • I have a servo question: Sometimes when a servo is at full-throw, it sounds like it is straining to hold whatever it's attached to. Is this normal? How can I fix this?

  • it happens all the time, but its not safe for flight. get a new or better brand servo.

  • it is straing against something such as the control surface. if your tranmitter has a way to limit throw there is where you will find your fix. just increase the throw limit(make the throw narrower). another fix could be to move the pushrod in one hole on the servo horn, but this will effect the over all swing of the control surface.

    good luck

    SAC

  • should i use carbon tubes or carbon rods as push rods?

  • i am planning on making that plane and i was wondering, what battery is that on the plane cos i cant find one any where and i don't know what on would be suitable

  • can you make a video on how to install servos in to the wig of the fomie

  • i just built my first foamie, its based on the f-27c stryker. but im nervous for my first flight, how do i know if its going to be out of control or not ? im pretty sure i got the cg right

  • Oh and how do i match up the brushless motors with the esc as far as with all the numbers such as Mah and Amps, etc.. AND after i have the esc and motor matched correctly to work, what type of reciever will i have to get to match all three of those??? AND will the reciever get power from the ESC or directly from the Battery?

  • start small...get an RTF and work yer way up.

Dave has an ebook that will explain alot to you. check his site

  • And btw, Dave, I just bought a Parkzone Typhoon 2 3D.\so, I didnt have much problem putting it together because it was a RTF.. anyway.. i charged the lipo, and plugged it into the ESC..... But there was also a port on the reciever that said BATT.. so, I also plugged the battery charger lead ( the one i plugged into my chrager to charge the batt) into the RX and it fit.. when i did this, the servos went nuts. now when i try to do something, the plane doesnt respond to the transmitter. fried RX?

  • hey, im only new to this but im pretty sure the channel marked "battery" is so you can plug a battery monitor into it, and because you applied a voltage to it you may have done damage.

  • how do you know what combination of esc's, motor, Rx's and servos to use all together so that they all work in unison? Because there are so many different types of radio equipment from all different companies around the world to use.. For example, 25 Amp Esc's, 1800 MAh Li po batteris, brushless motors ??? What do all these numbers mean>?? How do i know how to match up motors and esc's and recievers to work?? Please Help!!

  • Hey Dave, How and what do you use to connect the servo's to the receiver on the plane?

  • Also, How fast does this plane go because the motor looks small.

  • The diameter of the carbon is 3 MM. I dont know where to get the metal...go to ur LHS. They usually carry it.

  • Thanks Dave...love the vids. I look forward to learning about fine tuning at the field

  • it really helps dave. even old timer forgoten all this small stuff. will it offend you if i try to reproduce the same content in my own language for my fellow rc pilot here in malaysia thru my channel? great job dave, inspiring.

  • hi dave this is yash am doing B.e in aeronautics can u plz tell me where i can get this stuff (servos,horns,radio,.......) because i got some designs with me i need to test them.nice demo,it will help the beginers and one more question i have for u,do u have any future models?(i mean new models)

  • You didn't talk about how to program the radio...

  • Thats this Thursday, so have your instruction manual ready.

  • dave you should advertise your other shows earlier in the show because Most people dont watch till the end idk youve got a good setup but allways improvement is the key. Going by along time on youtube most people bord flicking through see something on youtube and if they like it they usually go oh yeah do what you said with the site coming back to and stuff u know. but thier the other people who just go oh yeah cool then go to another random video

  • ahha you know them guys "Tight tight tight...Loose!" haha your ledgend dave

  • can you plz tell me that where can i buy this stuff like servos and those small white things and all that electric stuff. im really willing to build this stuff.

  • if im using 9mm epp should i install the servo horns and servos the same way as u did (with a boxcutter) or should i use asoldering iron like u showed in the last video

  • "I hope this was helpless..."

A bit of irony in there? :)

  • Thanks Dave for your great informative vids, fairly new to all this and find it a great help.like some of the other guys on here need info on motor and prop set up,battery choice etc. Thanks again. you say clee-vis,we say clevis,uk !

  • i would like to know how to put ur recivers and stuf on as well and what reciver should i use.

  • This is great!!! I have been doing this stuff for a while and everytime I see one of your vids, I learn stuff. Thanks

  • dave dave dave could you send me links on were to get the ''stuff''' for that because it was help(LESS)

  • Teamerica,

You miss my point. For equal throw, you only want the linkage pivot directly over the hinge if the control rod is parallel to the hinge. (occasionally this is very much not the case)

For an extreme example, if the control rod was coming down at 45 degrees to the stab, the ideal location would be 45 degrees behind the hingeline (perpendicular to the control rod)

    Cheers.

  • Interested in learning to match motor to prop and plane weight . Is there a formula?? Also how do you protect servos from higher volt batteries?? Thanks Dan_go_away

  • Ok, question: So, I've been playing around with free simulators and demos (Realflight G4 e.g.), yet do not have a transmitter. Obviously, I won't learn how to fly just using my keyboard, so, the question is, what do you recommend buying to get a good (realistic) simulator at a fair price? (Remember that I have to get a transmitter as well - or get a simulator with one included)

Thanks in advance if I get an answer

  • i was wondering how to set up the motor system.... maybe an in depth expaination

  • hey dave where do you get your foam? i couldent find any on your site. i was going to ask someone on your website but there was no one on.

  • Why does he say "I hope that was helpless"???

  • what is the big difference from brushed over brushless

  • Brushless is more efficient and powerful. Brushless are actually 3 phase AC motors. The DV voltage is run through the speed controller that inverts the DC to AC and sends that to the motor through three wires.

  • brushed motors have just 2 wires, power and ground, because the brushes inside flip the magnetic field to keep it rotating. a brushed esc just has to regulate voltage to regulate speed. Brushless motors do not have a means of moving the field inside them, instead it is done via solid state chips in the (more complicated) esc and the motor has 3 wires. there are no brushes it is less friction so more power can be pumped through a smaller motor without heating. brushless is about 3x more powerful

  • where do you get that metal rods for the push rods

  • Oh my gaaaad! I thought of the bicycle sprocket analogy too Dave! I had it in my first video but cut it out when my wife suggested that I cut the length down and add the song. Thus the bicycle analogy fell to the cutting room floor so to speak, but I'm so glad you brought it out in this video. Once again, way to go Dave!! - Ed5k

  • For the push rod did you use a carbon tube?

  • yes he did look at the last class.

  • i noticed something kind of funny at 11:11 instead of saying helpful he said helpless lol nice video though really good

  • yeah i noticed that too! lol

  • ive been trying 2 find the wild hawk but i can only find it on us sites which costs a lot 2 deleiver, do u know any sites in the uk that seles the wild hawk

  • Great video keep up the good work

  • If I made my first free pdf foamie out of 1/2

bluecor styrofoam. I can't find 1/4 inch. Would it work and what size motor would I use?

  • Hi Dave, how did you set up the rods for the wings? they seam like its has some kinder bend on it? didn't see it please pause on it for 3 or 4 seconds on next video Please.

    thanks.

  • Very nice...

  • Great work as always Dave. I like the bit on the control rods. I have always done mine exactly then same as that. Been doing them that way for the past 20 years (as a kid). Never had a failure. Keep it up!

  • Can you use hot glue to fix the clevis to the push rods?

    ps I think its pronounced ( clehh . vi . sss. )

    any who, awesome videos

    GREAT JOB!!!

    5 stars

  • My apologies, * You guys have certainly proven your willpower!! Only time is your enemy =)

  • Hey there Dave and Val! How's things going? Another excellent beginner guide, this is invaluable to me, so thanks alot! I have a small and possibly silly idea for you guys, or to expand on; as helpful as these videos are, (And they ARE!) I still find the old-boring labelled diagrams quite useful. If you can ever find the time and will-power, Myself and some others may find some simple diagrams showing what parts are called, and where they go useful for building. Just a thought. All the best guys
