I love this version of this song, but haven't heard it for years. I've always wondered, what's up with that guy going AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH in the background after the steel solo? I used to wonder if there was something wrong with the tape I had.
charlie is an american icon. a true original. the IN PERSON lp is better than at folsom prison by johnny cash. if country got any better than this, i don't want to hear it.we need a return to his brand of country
Charlie Pride was bigger then "Michael Jackson" in days gone by, well he was to us "country folk" working up a sweat, only to get back in the "old rig" and crank up the cassette player to sweet sounds of Charlie Pride. I better not hear you bad mouthing this man, or i swear to god i will torment you in your dreams!
hmm well im not 100% on what you mean there, but yes cassette was how i first heard CP and fell in love with the "feel" of his music. You could always get more work done when you had some sweet tunes to listen to. I mostly drove either a Panther 325 Steiger or the old Albion "grain truck" to and from the silo, spent hours listening to CP.
ebaysux. just ment that 8 tracks were before cassetts.we had 8 tracks in are trucks.there is alot of truth in this song.I do mis the old days of trucking. alot of drinking and having fun. beanpot bar in phoenix, the pony in fenton mo. gg's in in federal way wa. just to name a few.
Ahh yup well i don't think i ever had an 8 track, could have been but i'm pretty sure is was more like 15-20 with about 10 on each side (played one way, then turn it over and basically play it in reverse.
This is what i call country,I love this my hubby is a trucker,he dont get home in six days more like 3 weeks he runs all over canada and us always love CHARLIE
i love tis song it reminds me of a time i was comen up out of d sout of france headen 4 d boat bck 2 ireland wit no sleep for 2 days wit boot 2 d bord, in me old 143 , 500, scania. (",
Sorry -- accidentally pressed the "thumbs down". Meant tumbs up!! I, too, wish country was like this again!! This stuff and these men and women were the real deal.

Charley Pride is one of the last links to a traditional era of Country music. Thanks, Charley, you are still one of the best!

I grew up with Charlie, loved his music. He does a great job but Dave Dudly just has the edge on
six days, well it was Daves song
Such quality compared to todays processed music.
