I had the privilege of seeing Mr. Hampson a few weeks ago in Claremont, CA at a concert. He is the most amazing singer I have ever seen. His voice is perfect, his stage presence impeccable---and he is from the USA!!!

The most beautiful version of this song was sung by Valerie {P} Pineda (married name) it once brought a Marine to tears and it once saved his life and it will forever haunt him. This man cannot hold a candle to her.

This song is perfect for his voice. His interpretation and his nuances are marvelous. He doesn't just sing the notes. Every student of voice would be well served to listen carefully to his example. This is truly singing. Then his "presence' and charisma are also well worth noting. When a song is over. This man is not done performing until 3 beats into the applause.
