  • I just heard... the ageing woman????

  • A bit like Charlie Sheen. The fight against the studio, the demise, the end of a career

  • Beautiful Marilyn. Such a tormented soul, but still so genuine and a good person. It always seems to be people like that, like her, Michael Jackson, and other misunderstood people, that have these problems and then die young.

  • too bad Hollywood is just as bad as it used to be,,,and we are supposed to feel guilty about watching some movies on the internet HA! I'll pay good money for the independent movie makers who are actually creative not some big shot million dollar Hollywood production piece of crap!

  • @gypseetim lol I feel the same way.

  • No one has any damned right to compare Marilyn Monroe to Elizabeth Taylor, Taylor doesn't hold a candle to her.

  • 36 years old -- "aging woman?" What moron wrote this asinine narration? This is a modern point of view?

  • damn, i wish she were still alive..

  • WTF Fox studio's are so fuckin stupid they pushed her to her death first of all why the fuck are they blaming her for the dept was she the one starring as Cleopatra, in the film that was millions over budget???? NO! and if they had the least bit concern about her maybe she could of got better. If they helped her or showed concern for her like they did when she was doing the nude scene maybe she would get the movie done. sorry for the cursing I'm frustrated over this!!!

  • I think Cyd Charrisse is exaggerating about Dean being so mad because after all it was Dean who said he would not do the movie without her. Furthermore, it was the studio, once again trying to control her, that tweaked the news story to say she would not work in Hollywood again. They tried to bully & control her.....keep in mind that this was her last obligation to Fox under her contract. She was developing her own production company.

  • Marilyn, photos of you that are still shown today means that that's how you will always be remembered. That beautiful stunning young looking woman the most of the world fell in love with... You along with Princess Diana... Forever Young

  • Damnit... I've watched 8 parts of this shit and she isn't dead yet.

  • @FatherPatOphelia, man, I don't know whether to find your comment grossly insensitive or hilarious !!!!!!

  • I met a woman in an Acapulco hotel, and she claimed she had the same measurements as MM had: 36-26-38, and 5 feet 6 inches. Anyone knows which where her final measures? Did she had any aesthetic intervention. Come on, I can dig the truth.

  • She didn't beg them? I've listened to the interview, and she said to jokingly at the end and laughed.

  • who the hell is narrating this documentary, his voice is scaring the crap out of me cause its so low

  • One page a day?! (104) people lost their jobs because of her. She wouldn't work (1) week out of every month as it was. She wouldn't go to work, plus thinking and Cyd was stuffing her bra. She should have quit Hollywood, stayed married, settled down. She can buy champagne and pills but no furniture and a mattress on the floor. Wanting other women's husbands; as if Bobby would leave his wife and children for her and she'd be first lady. I mean she was beautiful, but give me a break!

  • @XByTheShoreX I feel sorry for her life, I do, but maybe that wasn't the type of business she should have been in for the long haul. RIP Marilyn Monroe

  • @XByTheShoreX Yah she wanted that..MAYBE at the end when was fuked up and bobby had many gfs cheated on his wife all the time had a stead mistress for years..had a few threwout his life..she had issues and before she died was sick drinking alot and her mom was commited too..she needed help but noone helped her they just wanted her to work..she wanted a father figure..ya she shouldnt have been with him but she was messed up with issues whats his excuse?whocares he fuked everyone. She was good.

  • a beautiful woman with a sad life :(

  • Bah, this world was not good enough for her.

  • she was magic beautiful and so unhappy. really painfull... fox guys were assholes!

  • Dean Martin wanted to work with Marilyn so badly that he gave his own papers and I think that was a wonderful thing he did for her.

  • if u watch her movies, she acts like a bimbo in most of them, dumbed down, naive. i don't think she was that person, but people probbaly talked down to her because of that. being treated like that over years and years would make anyone feel crap about themselves. sad thing really.

  • I hate how much they bring her age in the last parts of this..... 36 is ageing? since when! society is so ageist. and this is coming from a 20 yr old. jezz!

  • @dumbasaboxofhair That's Hollywood for you. A woman in Hollywood who's 36 is considered and old maid. That's very sad.

  • @dumbasaboxofhair - no one told her she was aging. it was her own perception and insecurity that made things so difficult for her.

  • @surveyordave thats naive to say. 36 wasnt young in hollywood or in general back then. Not so much the case these days, thank goodness.

  • Are you really Marilyn Monroe? Everybody says I'm, so I guess I'm! Oh Marilyn! Love you always.

  • Comment removed

  • nothing changes, why do people actually feel upset when Vampires act like Vampires that's Hollywood where dreams go to a crashing ball of flames!!!!

  • oh goodness, I love the picture at 8:05 . It's the pure joy of life

  • There was never a Norma Jeanne Baker.. Marilyn Monroe was born Nancy Cusumano in Illinois and gave birth to a daughter who (was raised by her family) before she became "Monroe."

  • @seonfox Ok honnestly the Nancy Cusumano thing is very very confusing... First I saw sites that clame that Nancy Cusumano is Monroe's name... then they claim it was her "daughter"'s name... then there is a facebook with the woman that claims to be her daughter... (and if she is... damn Monroe must have dated some very very very ugly looking guy to get a daughter like that ... yes it's mean, but...claiming that you are a daughter of such sex symbol comes at a price)...I don't believe it

  • @InevitablePerception They both have the same name, Nancy Cusumano. And I agree.. her dad must have been pretty ugly lol. That's mean tho :( Anyway, she seems a little "out there," but she's probably had a difficult life.

  • @seonfox Where did you come by this crap. None of what you say has any resemblance to the truth. And if you believe any of this you should do some research on marilyn's life. In all the biography's and documentaries I've seen I've never seen the name Nancy Cusumano. It's totally wrong. Marilyn had several miscarriage's so I think if did have a child it would have been well documented.

  • She was the type of person to never give up. I could never see her committing suicide- she doesn't seem like she would. I think fox had something to do with her death, or maybe even her housekeeper. I honestly don't think she was suicidal. She was sick and stressed, so she did what she had to do- take time off set.

You know, I have a classmate with a seizure disorder, but my teacher doesn't get mad when she misses five or six days.

  • @MsTiffsickle I don't think she was suicidal either... but the thing about suicide... is that the thought of it can hit you ONCE strongly and if you act on it, you will never be able to reverse it... I agree though I don't think she was suicidal, but I don't rule away the possibility, if she was drunk and at her worst mood ...even suicide is possible...I definitely wouldn't judge her if she did suicide, her life seems really really hard...

  • This woman was an irresponsible fool. I will never understand the love for her co-depndent ass? Lots of people are fucked up and manic, but she is gulible on top of it all!

  • @mrbrandon71 Yes this woman was an irresponsible fool... but it seems like she tried her hardest to keep going. It's hard to be responsible when you have a lot of overwhelming things to deal with. If the things she had to deal with don't seem overwhelming to you, well keep in mind that it's just you... A depression is like a fear... the sadness can be very powerful and irrational, what makes Marilyn so great is that she struggled through it, managed to look good and still build a career

  • sad :( !

  • OH.. now fox wants her back they just wanted to put her down what a bunch of losers.

  • fair enough for dean martin to resign because the filming wouldnt be the same after the sacking of Marilyn Monroe

  • yes...blame fox for replacing the woman they hired that called out for more than half of her shooting days and cost them millions of dollars. something was up with her and fox was tired of it. you can call it gallbladder surgery, or whatever, sounds like a michael jackson excuse honestly lol so i'm glad she didn't use that sorry excuse. she was not ok. i don't think she meant to die, but she was definitely NOT ok. if you're recovering from surgery, you don't show here and there.

  • come on people stop protecting her she kept calling out anyone else wouldve been fired long time ago they give her so many chances and they didnt force her to commit suicide she did that to herself she wasnt strong enough

  • The best thing that could happen to these "so-called stars" would be that their "so- called careers" were over... and humble themselves to live simple lives...their so decieved about themselves, and their lives.

  • One thing biographies like this don't mention is the fact that Marilyn was RE-HIRED to finish doing SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE. They never gave up on that film. Also, she was scheduled to do a photo shoot for Vogue magazine. These things looked promising to Marilyn. Also, Joe DiMaggio had developed a relationship with her once more. The Kennedys kileld her hiring her own doctor & housekeeper to keep her from ever going public about her affair with JFK & Bobby

  • I think MM was given a lethal enema, that would explain the sheets her housekeeper was washing at the time of the ambulance, the Kennedys were assholes, MM was going to expose them with the press conference whe was planning on having and they were alerted to it, the Kennedys treated women like crap, even there wives, no respect at all, never could figure out why thru the years everyone always made such a big deal over a bunch of womanizers !!

  • Dean Martin you are a legend!! work place bullying at its worst by Fox!!! corporate psycopaths make me sick

  • Cukor, Allen, Bernstein all ASSHOLES. So what if MM got fired, her career was not over, not by a long shot. If she had lived, any studio would be open arms wide to have her. After all, she STILL was the most glamorous and beloved movie star in the world.

  • @DepalmaJay I agree, they probably could've black balled her for a little while, but long before some other big name company picked her up.

  • @Melimo if memory serves me correct she did have a contract in the works for a casino in Vegas at the time of her firing from Fox that she was to be paid one million to preform there in a Vegas act.....

  • i love her

  • such a gorgeous woman inside and out. Such a sad tragedy.

  • if you are more beautiful and talented than anyone else, and also happen to be kind, people will treat you like absolute shit if they can, if they sense weakness. its all envy, really.

  • No wonder Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Jackson were so close- both were self-indulgent, spoil and narcissistic in their excess and outrageous lifestyles... to think of Elizabeth having her way in Rome on Cleo, bankrupting the studio and boning around with Burton, whilst in LA poor Marilyn has to pay the price and is being made the fall guy, being put to work on this shitty romcom, where she should have been given the same parts and MONEY as Liz. Liz may be a legend... but Marilyn is a myth.

  • @Messylin what? Michael Jackson was far from narcissistic. Don't believe everything the media tells you.

  • @memoriesalwaysdie - far from narcissistic? Are you out of your mind? MJ wrote the book on self obsession!

  • this re hiering with a 2 pic deal and ect I forgot-

  • So Marilyn Monroe is 36 years old and so what?

I have met intoxicatingly beautiful dolls well over 40 years old !!

  • @Nguli34689 yeah, any 40 year old is far away from being old. But the fact is that Marilyn Monroe lifestyle, her troublesome childhood, adulthood, and all the other problems added up to not looking her best at 36, there's some pics in which she undeniably looked very fatigued. she looked well over 40, almost 50

  • Interesting comment: "The inmates are running the asylum." How is it that studio executives and their scheduling decisions are never responsible for failures to succeed; that is, to make money off the gifts and talents of other people under contract and their direction and control.

Contractual agreements are a legalistic enterprise in and of themselves in the American milieu. The power of "The Entertainers" forms 'Public Opinion" and models "The Political Agenda."

    Without question Sex Sells!

  • From what I have heard, George Cukor was trying to lose weight and taking diet pills all during this shoot- which made him agressive and short-tempered. Back then they doled out benzedrine like it was candy- and didn't know it's dangerous side-effects. Look at Judy Garland in the late '40's- she was the same way, while taking "diet pills".

  • Bobby Kennedy was sooooo cute and also was said to be horse-hung! Are there any nude photos of Bobby?

  • i like her but there is somthing rong that they say

  • it could be a revenge on her, cos she broke once with the studio in the middle '50

  • As cash cows go, she was a big one. Back then women were pieces of meat and men used them to their own pleasure. Women like Baker are strong but once they go, they die. And of course that is what happened.

  • marilyn made the studio more money than any other star. they treated their cash cow like garbage. she was beautiful.

  • @ccoross It's just business .... In the end theres costs associated with production and Dean Martin wasn't cheap either.

  • @ccoross - beautiful, yes, but disturbed and emotionally ill. how hard it must have been to work with her.

  • @ccoross Such a beautiful and special woman and a great actress. She should have been angry at all of those creeps she worked with. It looks like she was mentally unstable because she was taking sleeping pills and drinking alcohol. If she just took care of herself and stopped using that stuff, she would have been OK. She was a great woman. What a waste. And the hostility of George Cukor was criminal. The commentary reveals lots about the commenters, and nothing about Marilyn.

  • She was magnificent in Somethings Got to Give..... what crap that she wasn't responding to the scenes.

  • i think the acting was wooden, she is clearly struggling..i wonder why?

    Was she taking narcotics?

  • well.. duh! ( with all due respect:)

  • she was not murdeed she overdosed on some pills she had to take n lyk two days later her psychiatrist told a cop that she havnt been in cntact or anything n the cop went lookin for her n saw her dead on the bed with pills so she overdosed...so sad she culd of been awesome in these dayz if she were alive =[

  • she was a beautiful intellegent woman nothing like what they betrayed her as

  • she was not a angry scared woman,

  • No she wasn't, I agree. That interviewer was an a-hole.

  • i heard thoose interviuw tapes

she sounded like she been drinking

    nervous

    scared

and she relaey does say it dont make me look like a joke

    realey heavy stuff

    what a woman!

  • I thought that Life interviewer was a real dickhead.

  • that must ove been realey heavy

    you fierd

you never work again in this town

    while deeling with health problems

    jesus

was she a sex pot macheene???

see what happens when making money comes in first jesus crist

  • even a schmuck on the assembly line has to make money...give Miss Monroe a break:)

  • Fox were a bunch of assholes. She'd had gallbladder surgery, her doctor wanted them to delay, her health wasn't good. She'd always been a hard worker. Elizabeth Taylor nearly bankrupt Fox while being out sick, and they didn't fire her. Zero morals. They were cruel. In no way was her career over.

  • Really? She had a surgeries? I thought it was all because of drugs that caused her fired..

and what did Elizabeth Taylor did?

  • Too bad she was murdered. The finished product would have been so classic! She was so beautiful in this film.

  • @AmericanOriginals Marilyn Monroe showed all the signs for being very sick, but did Fox take that into consideration? No! Forget Marilyn Monroe's needs, as long as we have our movie, nothing else matters.

  • @AmericanOriginals yeah - but anyone can say 'no' - and she loved the fame, fortune, - greed

  • @05tjj Are you sane? She not only said "NO!", she forced Fox to renegotiate her contract, began her own production company, and went to New York without caring if Fox fired her or not. She studied acting at the Actor's Studio. They renegotiated and by 1959 she was finally getting a fair deal. But FOX remained ass-holes until the day she died. There wasn't a greedy bone in her body. She was an advocate of happiness over money. She loved her privacy more than fame and wanted to be alone.

  • @AmericanOriginals Watching this documentary is shocking she was a person they subjected her into an object she was an ill woman and they helped drive her to suicide

  • sono commossa davvero...
