Hi, I have just viewed your video and it is end of April 2011. I just got a Cuttlebug this spring and am enjoying it. I really liked some of your ideas and techniques. I am wondering if you have any ideas for getting Perfect Pearls, by Ranger, I think, to adhere to just the debossed image. Thanks from Kathe in PA
@ Mootseeka.. your right here in Canada at Rona specifically.. thats where mine came from.. It is 12-15 dollars. The right kit.. But I have since wrecked my rubber in my cuttlebug.. it got stuck and tore it to shreds.. so I will now purchase the one I should have in the first place by the makers of the bigshot? I think.. stampin up
Hi, I'm Christine. I was watching the stencil embossing and after you did the chalk. I couldn't understand what you said to use to put on top of the chalk so it will stay. Can you please let me know when you get a chance.
I recently bought a Gasket kit at an automotive shop and it cost me...gulp...$20 but I do live in Canada. I got my Cuttle Bug today so I am eager to try all the tips you have given.
I bought the Spellbinders Embossing Pads from Hobby Lobby this week, but I think I will return them because I can smell the latex even through the packaging. That is not good for me because I am allergic to latex.
Fantastic! I used the texture plates recipe and it worked perfectly using a spellbinders tan mat instead of the gasket kit. Even on SU! cardstock which as I've read some people says is not thick enough.
Just wanted to post a note~I tried forcing my cuttlebug and I broke my 2nd B plate because it was a little too thick and the plate was very old. Instead, I tried removing both B plates, put a C plate on top of my stencil, then put the black paper that came with the diy gasket kit and it embossed EXTREMELY well!
I'm so excited for this idea~I have a TON of brass stencils and have not used them in ages!! I'm off to my local hardware store. Thanks so much for sharing!
Your video was great to watch. I think moistening the card stock may provide a deeper emboss. I would like to know what a good fixative for the chalking would be. Thank you for your inspiration.
Hi I'm Sandy from canada I really like your video and I would like to know where I can get the kit.Last year I bought a kit by sizzix scrap it pink 1 thing that came with it is a hard plastic plate like fiskars and I haven't been able to use it this was for breast cancer and the plate has alot of words and I would love to be able to get the empression of it .Sandy
Do a google search for "plumbers gasket kit," Ace or value hardware should come up and you can order from them, the kit is about 5 dollars or so. Good luck!
Cool idea!

This is a great video. A very good fixitive is PYMII (Perserve Your Memories II).
It's good for paper, chalk, polymer clay, metal and a bunch of other things.
