  • This is the worst music you can do crossfit too! Really guys, no wonder his time was weak!

  • I'll be the firs tto say, 95lb thrusters is one of the absolute hardest things for me. The closest I ever got to doing this workout as prescribed, w/o scaling it was w/the rx'd weight of 95lbs but in the rep scheme of 15/12/9 instead of 21/15/9. Let me tell you, after the first 9 thrusters I had no idea how I was going to get to 12 much less 15. I completed it but I can't remember any time in my life where I pushed myself THAT hard

  • CanadianInfantryman1....get a clue dawg!

  • The workouts are crazy... I've done the Fran maybe 6-10 times and it is always HARD! I always feel like i'm going to spew! Suppose to get easier but your going faster so there is always something to push for .. a target.

  • WTF you mutha fuckas giving this man thumbs down for? Don't swing on you're pullups as simple as that. its all about your form. Yeah you're pushing up 135lbs but work on your pullups guy cuz that's just pure shit

  • Those are called kipping pull ups, a more explosive athletic movement that trains all of the same muscles as a deadhang pull ups but also trains all of the muscles in the posterior chain, it also blasts ur heart rate up making it a met-con/cardio workout as well, so it creates more work output in less time therefore is more effective, just think of deadhang as lat pull down and kipping as power cleans, which is better for you? obviously power cleans, same deal with kipping pull ups

  • You must understand that most of this "crossfit family" stuff is designed for women and weak white guys that never did well in jr. high gym class. Everyone knows that swinging pullups are 50% easier because you are using momentum to whip your chin up over the bar. You don't see elite gymnasts or pole vaulters fudging their workouts like this. Let's see how well this translates into real world scenarios like rope climbing where you can't brace against anything and swing, or rock climbing.

  • Simply put, you are an idiot. If the purpose of this workout was strength training, then dead-hang pullups would be appropriate. This workout, however, is used as a benchmark to gauge one's metabolic conditioning. You need to understand the goal before you question the method. It's interesting that you mention rope climbing, because that is often included in Crossfit workouts as well as weighted pullups, squats, deadlifts, cleans, and snatches.

  • Yes, and Crossfit is for weaklings. Hence it being the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Oh, wait.

  • there's a video of some crossfit guys (some of those "weak white guys" you mention) lifting all kinds of crazy weight. like a 135lb overhead pistol squat. yeah, that's one weak person to be able to do an overhead squat on one leg with that weight. give me a break.

  • it does work in real world believe me from the persepective of a high school state wrestler this is good stuff and yes rock climbing does benifit from this, and no i wasnt a weak white guy in jr high

  • @roadwarrior1981 Actually, most crossfit gyms have you climb rope and do gymnastic moves such as handstand push ups and ring muscle ups. Kipping while doing a pull-up may cause the weight to be moved easier (absolutely NOT at 50% tho) but it makes the overall movement harder because it starts to become a cardio exercise.

  • dont swing on your pullups
