  • cool tips

  • Thank you for your help and such a speedy reply!

  • I planted tomato plants in my brother's garden which has clay soil. After digging a deep enough hole I mixed in organic 10 10 -10 fertilizer. What are the chances of the tomatoes producing fruit in this case? They get full sun until about 4 PM. Thank you -

  • you should have no problem. keep them watered until they start to set fruit and then cut back your water by 1/3 to 1/2. Don't add any more fertilizer.

  • Can you just put compost into the holes?

  • You have to be careful. If the compost is too 'hot' organically, it can burn the roots of the plant. If it is aged, it will work great!

  • So will my tomatoes grow if I didnt put them in deep enough?

  • Yes, they will do fine. They just become a little stronger plant if planted deeper. you should notice no difference. The deeper tomatoes can handle the heat a little better too.

  • How many times or until when do you have to cover the tomatos every night?

  • You should keep them covered until all chance of frost is gone. They are 'warm weather' friends and will thrive once the temps get pretty warm.

  • Thanks for the video
